AFL 26 - Megathread - This is not a support forum

Nah not an AI set shot. But lots of field kicks from them, typically around the HFF - Wing when they’re kicking straight over the mark.

Maybe they have been added to the files but not meant to be made avaliable as of yet and will be included in the AFLW update?

FO Taranto has dropped from the objectives (PS5).

Does anyone else still see it?

Gone from my list too.
Did the timer run out? Maybe it was due to end a day before the end of the season.

Lucky I picked it up a few days ago.

Mhmm it expired this morning as indicated on the objective count down.

Just looking through the Player Editor… there are now 53 goal kicking styles available!

3 normal ones (Tall Fwd, Small Fwd, Midfielder)
3 AFLW players (McGrath, Phillips, Vescio)
7 past AFL players (Franklin, Robinson, N Riewoldt, J Riewoldt, Lloyd, J Brown, Richardson)
40 current AFL players

That’s pretty damn cool along with some legends seem to have got a bit of an update to their face scans over time. (Nick Riewoldt and Matty Lloyd the noticeable ones for me).
I’m still hunting for a few more legends on ProTeam, hoping to get them all!

Probably a blessing in disguise. I was at the 750 mark with the goal theoretically achievable.

Can’t say I’m a fan of season long objectives being set to ‘season -1 day’, especially ones that require you to do something 1000 times. Methinks this was not by design and if it was then I would suggest that is a weird and wonderful decision.

Overall enjoyed this season, gameplay right now is pretty smooth. Wouldn’t mind clipping a few seconds from the set shot animation and I noticed one thing from the ‘once you see it you can’t unsee it’ variety - when the final siren sounds the players just disengage and do a zombie walk. I think it would add a lot to the immersion if there was a wide shot of the elation and dejection before the cut scenes started.

Bring on the cult heroes!

EDIT - one more suggestion - option to extend contracts from the Team selection screen. Bonus points for an ‘apply minimum contract terms’ button to save you the work. Similar to auto fill except it uses the smallest contracts you have in reserve. Or you can select to go the Team Management screen.

Hey mate, I’ve finished off with the tag, are you interested in taking it back, I don’t require it anymore!

It’s totally up to you. I won’t get a chance to get on before tomorrow night on Friday. If you want your PTC back after buying it, If you list it for how much you bought it from me and I’ll buy it back. Hope you got the Ginnivan card

Lots of updates over the past few months, like guernseys, player likeness updates, ProTeam cards, Legends in other modes, AFL Finals mode etc.

What about the current AFLW rosters?

It’s a shame the updates haven’t been really gameplay based, the lack of patch notes kinda indicate it.

Even adding in stuff from other games they have like in rl26 (controlled movement) would be nice.

still feel they could do stuff like ‘call players to make a run’, which is desperately needed.

also I reckon a call players to run in a certain direction in ruck contests would make the game better.

Here’s hoping BA aren’t lazy and incorporate new systems in future releases, don’t think afl26 will get any unfortunately.

It would be great if BA was building on the mechanics but at the same time I empathise. Tiny market, narrow margins, a parent company needing to restructure its operations to remain afloat. The code base almost certainly needing a overhaul to achieve half the things that people are asking for.

Hopefully AFL 29 is the generational leap we’re all hoping for. In the meantime I think there are worse fates than incremental tweaks to what is otherwise a pretty stable, overall enjoyable game.

Yeah I agree.
Pretty good gameplay as it is at the moment… but with opportunities to enhance and polish tidbits.

We’re now a year and 2 months post-release, and based off Twitter updates and from what I remember, since release we got

  • team lists updated
  • State of Origin teams
  • New 2026 Rules
  • new face scans
  • New guernseys
  • New visuals (interchange menus, goal kick meter, set shot profile, stamina bar meter, day/night transitions)
  • new legends
  • new animations
  • New cutscenes (Grand Final/Big game, quarter time breaks, assistant coaches etc)
  • New crowd details (“Woof”, “Bruuuuce” etc)
  • New commentary
  • Quarter Time Highlights
  • new ProTeam content (cards, collections, Auction House - Buy Now option)
  • some mini games (Arc Master)

Gameplay had a few tweaks earlier on, like

  • gang tackles
  • tackling adjustments (retackle exploit removed)
  • goal-kick play-on nurfing
  • Tactics tweaks
  • on the run goal kick options
  • Manual Handball (or was that in 23?)
  • plus all AI tweaks, ‘stability’ updates and game balancing mentioned in the tweets.

I saw someone elsewhere complain about the game changing too much since release, while others wanting more. Overall I think it’s a good balance, and we’ve actually got quite a lot since Day 1… but yeah, hoping an ‘AFL 29’ polishes some bits, and introduces even more.

I reckon one of the new updates should be being able to put numbers on the front of the jerseys like WAFL and VFL and place em anywhere and the option to add boxes with a box colour, outline colour and number colour. It’s a suggestion, would be cool

Most likely the new weekly update in relation to objectives and card packs within ProTeam.
Updates should be a regular occurrence on a Thursday after 9am

Playing a game atm and I’ve just had the wind go from blowing a gale at the start to being pretty light after half-time.

Is this something they’ve added that I’ve been unaware of or would it be a glitch of some kind?
