I think the actual issue with tackling is not whether the player or AI can get the ball out, but more in terms of how strong the kick or handball is that gets out.
i think the devs in one of the videos pre-launch were like reduction in stoppages were a focus of the game and more spills after a tackle - it is just spilling out unnaturally and beachball like. having balls spill out is great to keep the game flowing - but not when it looks like one of those high bounce balls.
And one other thing to come from it is the recovery rate of the player tackling
you get a tackle in - AI spills the pill - the player who laysthe tackle TAKES AGES to get up and recover - Yes I can switch to another player but the recovery time is wayyyyyyyyyyyy toooooooooo longggggggggg

Just watched j.cameron engage his man early to protect the drop zone and allow the ball to go out the back and for him to run onto an open goalâŚâŚ.would be nice if the game would allow this, current marking system will pull you in. Another reason to have less assistance in the contest.

The standing handball once tackled, is just as bad as the play on shot for goal imo, that has to be nerfed asap. The fact you can just be in a standing tackle for a few seconds and wait for your player to find space and feed them is just ridiculous. Itâs not like its just one random one either, you can literally do a chain of 5 of them to have a shot on goal.

also anyway we could just play management carrer mode with our editable copies of teams? even being able to see custom rosters for AFL teams when entering Carrer mode so you can have whatever team you want when drafted, if not maybe the ability to control the roster so there wonât be any randoms playing naybe even a ârequest trade for playerâ to build ur Carrer mode teams
Change AI pressure awareness and all the other ai sliders lol. Change the ai sprint and run speeds. Change umpiring leniency sliders. Change tackle effectiveness sliders and tackle distance and timing sliders. The out marking is a skill issue, time it better or get into a better position. Simple . I literally do not have a single issue that you are having because I tweaked the sliders.
To add something to this, imho marking is all really about timing and who is in the contest (players with high marking stats I guess. For example t.Stewart just marks over everyone, taller or shorter, late to the contest or flat footed).
Positioning doesnât really matter. Unless you quickly pick someone to cut it off.
