Agreed! A Kako player scan would get me through another day

Hi all, i havent read through all the recent comments so bare with me if i repeat anything thats already been discussed. Did anyone notice that afl 23 has had a recent update ? The game mechanics are so much better ! For example kickinh into space your pkayer can run onto the ball to mark and can play on without breakinf stride. Earlier mechanics the play would stop to go back on the mark, then when tou played on the player was sluggish getting of the mark. Also the game play from the npc is alot smoother they dont get all there goals from rediculous angles, decission making is better kicking into space etc, other examples are if the npc markes 50 out from the goal and the siren goes, they actually go back and take the shot after the siren, not just play on and kick to a player waisting and opurtunity. So i have hight hopes for afl 26, the only reason i would buy is if carreer mode has better features like playing vfl/ waffl etc and being drafter etc etc

Hi mate - most of the things you’re describing were actually fixed a while ago, the gameplay has been great since. There does still seem to be incremental improvements that have been made in recent updates as well, including an increase in instances where the ball is knocked out in the tackle. This results in less stoppages and an increase in continuous contested play.

Yeah rite, well i played it 10 days ago, then again last night , the difference is black Nd white. It did update a few days ago but didnt state what the update was

A few things I’d like to see added that probably won’t be mentioned by others..

  • An end to end camera that doesn’t spin around on change of possession, Evo 2 had this and I still think it’s the best way to make an end to end camera work (Perhaps player career will introduce a new camera angle that works for this).

  • A ‘steady step’ button that makes your player take short/sharp steps, you’ll move slower but have much greater accuracy and be able to take sharp turns quickly, could help solve some of the movement issues where you’re currently either flat footed or moving at 100%.

The ‘steady’ or precise movement/step is a must.

Movement has been always subpar so more control will be welcomed

Like the jockey movement you find in fifa games.

In fifa games they usually assign L2 to it along with stuff like ‘ Engage Shielding Opponent’.

Wonder if big ant will do it also to manually trigger body contact

Id say with this slower more precise movement you mention it can’t be a button but have it all programmed into movement without holding sprint.

Would be good if each player had high to low standard speed (not holding sprint) mixed with evasion/break tackle stats I could really see this having a more dynamic feel especially around stoppages.

You’d love the AI to get drawn in to attempt the tackle and feed it out to your players who hold width.

It’s a good question to discuss though.

It runs into my main want for AFL 26

Sprint speed - Wanting to noticeably see differences from player to player

Then fatigue that actually impacts players as the game goes on and lowers individual players stats by a % the longer they are not at full fitness

All good points i agree. The graphics obviously will never be as good as maddern or fifa, although i prefer game play mechanics over graphics

yea same i thought that when i played yesterday

tackling needs changes for AFL26 - should have a light and heavy tackle option.

light - safe but opp opponent can most of the time get the ball away by handball or kick - albeit affected - but a perfectly positioned and timed tackle should still be rewarded

Heavy tackle - less safe and can put your player out of the contest - but get it right - more likely to knock them off their feet or ping them for HTB or knocking the ball out of the player’s hands

Doesn’t it already have that now?

We need team line ups on the screen for AFL 26 before a match starts one thing that was missing in AFL 23 i have no idea why

Don’t think so, correct me if im wrong.

Doesn’t sprinting affect that? Could be wrong haven’t played for a while

Light tackle - tap the tackle button

Hold the tackle button to hold on for longer to increase chance of htb or stoppage

Sprinting increases chance of a high tackle

L2 is a more powerful tackle but higher risk and slower to recover from.

Nothing to be worried about with @Pink_Panters confirmed to going into the studio, that is better than any screen shot that gets posted.
