This makes it clear that they still have a long way to go with the Rugby Union video game. The fact that a niche sport (I’m into Rugby League, and I discovered it last summer in Salford because in Spain people don’t even know rugby XIII exists) is outselling a globally known sport says a lot about the product they’ve released. It also not helped that R25 had an early access version, and it was obvious the game wouldn’t be worth it.

It is almost 2 years ago since we have been told by Nacon/ Big Ant that the release of Rugby 24 was postponed only to get the photogrammetry.
And here we are, an unfinished gameplay and still not all the photogrammetry 2 years later.

It’s also pretty wild to realize that so many placeholders from Rugby League were apparently reused in R25, and yet many of the positive features from League didn’t make it into Rugby 25.
@JNT_BA , do you plan to use some gameplay mechanics from RL26 in R25 ? (Fend off, passing, etc…)

@JNT_BA a couple of things for you to take a look at.
Just playing another match and the knock on penalties are being played out as a kick to touch?? This needs to be changed to a scrum penalty.
Also whichever team scores first they always go on to win by X amount of point to 0. The team not scoring can’t seem to score at all. Even when they are on the opponents try line they never can score.
If it were the odd match I’d say well the teams won by a shut out. But this is happening every match to me on any difficulty.
This is AI v AI btw so there’s something wrong somewhere in your match engine causing this. For me your last patch was a step back again unfortunately. Hopefully these are things you can address soon in another patch.
I just hope that R25 can become fun again like RL26 is atm.

@JNT_BA Just something else for you to take a look at as well. The missed tackles in game seem to be a lot higher than actual tackles?? Surely this should be the other way round?
Anyway if you get time to look at my posts, there’s a few issues for you guys to look at.

Edit: Now all of a sudden I have players, when they strip the ball in the ruck, suddenly trotting backwards and getting levelled.
This happened quite a few patches ago now and then got fixed. Or so it seemed. Now the issue is back.
You know it’s all these little issues that really test your enthusiasm to play the game.

This update did not take 3 weeks, so why cant we get these type of changes for Rugby25?

Hey @JNT_BA was wondering whether we might get an update to the Future of Rugby 25 thread soon. It’s been a month since that was shared and although it was mentioned that ‘lines’ are being looked at it would be great to know what’s happening with those exactly and other aspects like rucks, scrums etc. Cheers

Can you stop matches if a player like mcfc the guvnor doesn’t touch his controller for more than a minute?

I have played over 400 hours of RUGBY 25 and there has been 1 time where a yellow card has been given
Can you please increase the AI and The Playing team discipline to more aggressive and More Cards
Especially yellow cards
Example in rugby if there are more than 4 offsides the ref usually gives a yellow card in real life
And for the kick off when the ai does a high tackle that is a red card So can we see more red and yellow cards for the next update please
And Can you please fix the glitch that All the champions cup group games are being played at the stade de France and also please Make the international fixtures more realistic and please add virgin media Park to Be available to add as a new stadium for all teams as it is the only stadium in the game Currently that isn’t available to add as a new stadium to Teams.

Hope they have fixed ruck steal. Its not working , very frustrating when you could but cant steal the back to get it back

yes, you have to launch the counter ruck at the begining of the tackle’s animation if you want to win the ball…

I hate to be that guy. But I’m pretty miffed (to be polite) that Rugby 25 has not been playable since release for the six nations. Yet RL26 is getting constant attention to fix urgently and looks miles ahead of rugby 25 (and tbh did at release anyway).
Why is their £50 more valuable than my £50?
I doubt I’ll be pre ordering cricket 26 if this release rollout is anything to go by

This is a shocker, we’ve been asking for advertising/atmosphere etc in stadiums since release. Instead R25 gets barren stadiums with really weird dark corners at the ends.

Considering how much of a let down Rugby 25 has been, am I completely mad to be considering purchasing Rugby League 26? I’m a fan of both codes but have held off because of the issues on Rugby 25. I can’t deal with waiting for updates on two games at once!

RL26 is in a much better state than R25. I would love for a union game that is at the current level of RL26. If you enjoy both codes, you’ll probably enjoy RL26. Looks like it’s getting some serious frequent updates too. Hopefully R25 gets that level of attention sometime soon.
