I haven’t played rugby 25 for a few months but I’m pretty sure there was some sort of pod formation last time I played but wasn’t working as it should. Nah I was hoping before rl26 was released that they would have added some different formations in their set plays. Some pod shapes running off dummy half would have sweet. Rugby 20 graphics was rubbish but at least the gameplay made some sense of a game of modern rugby…

The countdown is on to the Thursday “3 weekly” patch. I say Thursday, because that’s when they arrive in NZ/AUS.
Anyhow, who’s excited? How well fixed will our issues and concerns be? How much more fun is the game going to be?

High hopes but i also hole @JNT_BA and team knows if they fail us. He will need to block everyone cos the frustration will get to a point of no return. Im a Aussie supporter Born and live in S.A and we have a lot of lekke swear word or am i wrong @Plaasvark

Not hopeful at all after the last patch offered almost nothing. Game is nonsense and always will be.
Im basically here for the red hot banter and memery with a few real ones.
Oh and to amuse myself with the now 3 weekly meltdowns that occur after each patch.

This was a strange weekend for Rugby. There’s this competition that New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and Argentina are taking part in, but I have no idea what they mean… they call it “The Rugby Championship”, never heard of it. That’s not even the weirdest part, before each match the teams lined up and sang random songs and New Zealand even did this thing where they were yelling at Argentina.
World Rugby should get with the program, we do not see these things in our game.

That’s disappointment. I thought we would have a Wife Carrying 26. Here we go for 2 years of wait again. I hope it won’t be in Early Access and that the race will be smoothly implemented with good lines.

Does anyone else think that there might be a post coming up sometime before the three weekly patch that might ask us to limit our expectations or possibly downplay how many changes we might expect? 
I guess I might as well say some of the things I’d hope for in an alternate universe where things actually happened that improved the experience…
Bug fixes: For example… Proper TMO decisions and removal of the no try if touched by the opposition over the try line. Rules fixed from knock-ons to penalties, all working as expected.
Better support play. Passing options off your shoulder when you make a break! Believe it or not in real Rugby, when a player sprints for a break, normally a couple of other guys are also sprinting with him to present options. Shocking I know!
Rucks. A logical mechanism that plays as a contest/mini-game that is clearly explained in tutorials and control menus. For example…
Make a tackle with the tackle button.
If the tackle is a struggle or standing tackle for a second or two, push the contest tackle button rapidly which helps to turn the tackled player before bringing them to ground. Then rapidly push the steal button, to attempt to steal the ball. The stats for the tackler and tackled player help to decide how easy that process is.
Proper forward pods set up.
Pick and go option from back of ruck not just half back run.
Option for adding three men to a ruck with taps of join ruck and then hold for up to two more. After adding as many to the ruck as you want from either method, subsequent taps on the join ruck button add to the pushing power for a potential pushover ruck win.
Fixing of the dynamic goal kicking to make it respond to input as well as the rugby league 26 goal kicking.
A match type designer that is as good as rugby league 26 has got. Which is the kind of thing we should have gotten a long time before they did.
There are many many more I could suggest, but the past has suggested we might get one of these things if we’re lucky.

@Bapean I have no idea why my sports broadcaster decided to show these strange unknown “tournaments” I was looking for the Bangladesh D10 but couldn’t find it anywhere.
With a cold sweat I quickly started up my game and played the D10 for the 100th time just to get my fix

I wouldn’t be surprised. I am with you on these improvements, these are things that have been mentioned week after week, surely the development team should have focused on these basic fundamentals. But I doubt that we will ever get so many major changes with one update

I really hope so hope they will shock us with a good patch and update this week.I really dont want to get my hopes up but Im trying to stay positive 
… Even @Nesreviac that changes that you say there will be epic to the game we need that @JNT_BA if they can do all that changes the game will be better .. So I hope for all of us thats playing Rugby 25 that we will get a good major update like RL26 this week we can only hope.

I hate this game. Not fun and just rubbish. Most regretful game purchase ever! The patch will be rubbish and worse just as the previous ones were.
Fix scrums, backline defensives and attacks, stop ai from breaking every single first tackle and passing 30m in a split second in a tackle. Fix kicking. Fix conversions ( copy paste rugby 26 for everything kicking) including camera views. Stop cutting scenes short from goal kicking and kicking for touch. At least let us watch the ball sail through and bounce.
Ive played this game maybe 1 game a week and every time i wanna crush my console.
If they try make a new game to sell without fixing this one there needs to be legal matters as this is a joke

The socks are just too much.
I have had barely enough time to even be on here to clean out the trash.
Fends balancing and the conversion stuff are what I’ve been looking at the last while. Fending… was a whole thing. I’ve never seen my gameplay programmers face palm so much while we have been rewriting it. Some… interesting code in there.
Different try types are in so dives will be on Y/Triangle all other buttons just to ground.
Rucks rework design has been completed. While it won’t be in this week 
the one after.
WRWC cannot go out this update. Once everyone has finally signed off of that I will do a standalone for it. That’s all I can really say on that one.

Hi @JNT_BA thanks for letting us know what to expect from this week’s patch. Are you able to go into any more detail on some of this.
Like fending, it’s great to hear it’s had a rewrite (even if complicated) however at the same time has anything been done to the contact area? I’d hate for us to go back to an AI that just does one hit up running. The fend was far too effective however how will the human and AI make ground in the tackle?
On the new methods of scoring tries will this have any effect on the dreaded (I know I probably shouldn’t say it 
) held up issue? Will we see tackles over the line that are sent to the TMO for checking and either given as held up or a try
On the ruck reworks is there a reason it’s not in this week. Is it complete but still being tested? Is there anything you can tease on how this might work?
