One thing woth mentioning, before the patch aftermath collapses the group, is the lack of control on the tackles.
The defensiva part of the game feels very automatic. Big hits, high tackles, below waist tackles…they are all done with the same button and the outcome feels so random. There should be some control on what we want to do, risking high tackles when attempting big hits or risking being bumped off when trying a more technical tackle.
For example the “diving tackle” (
on ps5) is useless. The player does dive, but never even attempting to tackle the opponent. This should be adressed at some point. At the moment sin bins and red cards are absolutely randomized.
Only so many things will be ammended in this game. But all my hopes are now on the next installment if there is one at some point Rugby 27. You can fail once, but making the same mistakes and not learning from the letdown that rugby 25 has been would be the end of it as a franchise.
Help us @JNT_BA , you’re our only hope

Id have to disagree with you on the diving tackle, can be very useful if you know how to do it, worse case scenario you miss, if u get not good connection your players shaken off but it slows down the other player massively givinv your other players a chance to get in and make the hit, if not it can perform a very good chop tackle which your player wont get stuck in tackle and can bounce back into the line way quicker, could just be a skill issue

I know its not easy but like I said where the game was in the start till where it is now you can see the difference
In the next update in the new year is it possible to make team ratings visible to both players participating in an online game ? As not having ratings visible totally makes the game one-sided in favour of the player with the teams and players stats set to 99. For eg. JAMIE OSBORNE is not the fastest player in the world but in ti’s game when he is ratted 99 is next to impossible to defend against. Shouldn’t take much in change that in the next update.
So the last update of the year has been completed and after reading those patch notes and although I am extremely appreciative of the work that has been done to improve the game, I can’t help but feel bitterly disappointed that there has been so many things, things that I feel personally should be apart of a rugby game that has not been adressed at all. I will never argue against someone that say that gameplay is an important part of the game…absolutely it is. But there were things like National Anthems before a match, The Haka, a World Cup Tournament (not the women’s) or a way to customise a custom tournament to resemble a World Cup, I don’t even have the ability to name my Custom Tournament. Advertising in stadiums has still not been sorted, the crowd is still dull.
There was supposed to be a seperate team for these things right?
Nevertheless, I wish all Big Ant employees and everyone on here a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Get rid of the ability for a player to increase his or hers team and player ratings and stats for online games. So unrealistic and unjoyable otherwise. The Game play is very much so improving it just needs to be policed in terms of player ratings. Leinster and Ireland with ratings of 99 is so So wrong. Jamie Osborne is Superman on steriods
Watched some AI vs AI in Hard level so far after Steam 4113 update, and must admit it just “seems” a fair bit better, a bit more like what I see in a real match, and I am still new to Rugby, so take from that what you will !
But definitely can see differences.
I cant put my finger on it, and BA are most certainly not paying me to be positive, but it just looks more real, the timing of the passing, more organic, not seeing the same patterns as before with the AI passing. Still cant nail it in terms of anything definitive though. Lets see what the others think anyway.
