100% it is too small. If you have a big tv it’s a challenge to see it

You’d be foolish not to. Think about it. Nearly every person who plays pro team will splurge at least half the games cost price on packs at one point. 1000s of people will spend between 1000-2500 just to have the best team possible. I truly think that because of UT modes have been in the past. This game mode will be the main driving force for if we get a sequel quickly or not. The revenue is through the roof. All they need to do is fix the servers then I’m sure gameplay will get looked at.

They haven’t looked at the gameplay in 15 years they’re not going to start now.

Hopefully this predatory gambling rubbish gets banned in the near future, it’s clear that this revenue source is the only focus of this game.

There are gameplay things that can be improved and Bigant probably will be first to concede that. There are moments I am experiencing in game where the intent has been seen, particularly player movement and attacking lines, just needs to be consistent. I have raised ticket on things I have observed. My mentality is that it is probably in better position than AFL23 was (slightly) but the team turned it around and by the end got a pretty good game together.
I am disappointed that things that could be considered simple to implement plus missing content should of been done right. I do have faith that they will turn it around to something that resembles the intention …just hopefully sooner rather than later.
Where I do have the main issue is the integrity of people that claim its better than what it truly was when they most likley knew it was not up to the mark…that typical “car salesman” approach. The game sold out of shipments due to blind faith purchase by customers built over previous iterations and people including content producers talking up something that did not quite match the narrative, not accurate descriptions to the product that was delivered.
However bit a false start out of the blocks, but experience has taught me that Bigant do in the end make things right (Rugby 25 seemingly the only exception, but I have not played that).

Has anyone else seen issues on the Team Selection page on PS5 for the single game play?

My son and I chose some teams yesterday and since then we haven’t been able to change from the Sharks and Wigan..

We tried to do a Womens game also and it defaulted to the Raiders and Broncos.

Super annoying that you pay $90 for a game and its so buggy

Im on PS5 but have not come across that one…be sure to log ticket with support. The more people do that better the chance of it being noticed and fixed up. Is there a way to change field markings I keep getting this League Stars field marking no matter what stadium i play at

I agree, however, there are such big issues I would have appreciated Ross coming out before release saying that the game wont be close to a finished product on release and there will be MAJOR flaws instead of the ‘day 1 patch’ promise.

Dear Big Ant, Ross and to the RL26 developers and to the RL26 community, here i am today bringing to you all the things that you NEED to address and fix up. I highly encorunage yous to come together right now sit down lock the doors and discuss this and get on it ASAP,

GAMEPLAY

  • RLL4 nope nope nope, fix it up dont you dare use RLL4 base mechanics, its dog meat. fix it up. Spend the money and develop a new base foundation. RLL4 IS NOT IT. Im totally bewildered how in 2012/13 yous can design rll2 and it had its flaws but man it was so realistic and felt like the game of rugby league. ALL that was needed was a few fixes w graphics and abit more in-depth features which did come in the newer games. id love to see who back in 2015 decided to go away from this, name them? explain why?

General shapes /plays:
Okay heres where things need fixing. We go away from RLL2 which didnt have set plays but to an extent the line running and where players stood on the field resembled what you see in real life. Lead Runners actually ran through the line and you could play flat and fast and properly hit holes. You could set up to get to points on a field and come back each time with a similar shape/variation and kind of give your team a sense of identity such as like my team in career mode ’ we set up at post and on the right we always have a double lead and the half out the back and we favour attacking right…" thats what makes it enjoyable, you should be able to score some mirrored tries every time throughout the year.
Now in RLL4 they say that added set plays with the selected 4 or 5 options which you have to trigger in game. for starters theres no name to them, theres no description? wheres the training arena mode where you can explain them deeply and show us how to execute?? we just have to do it on the fly and by the time you select one your almost got the ball and about to be tackled.. RUSHED. And here is where i want a Big ant developer reply to me and show me your understanding.. one of the plays offers a decent shape with block runners either side halves linkign so-forth.. it looks technical sure. now whyyyyyy do the lead runners jog up then come back? what is the point of a lead runner if they aren’t holding any of the D line up? what space are we creating for our outside men, the Defence is not even impacted hence why after a shift out the back of a play the winger is always covered. scrap the set plays they dont do anything, yous dont know what they are or how its meant to work. Start by positing players wider off the ruck with inside and outside runners, then build and add the fullback sweeping. Then add layers, second rower gets tackled, 4 short side then 6 on the long, then the lock should be primary ball player with a block out the back to the halfback/five eight. Layers upon layers, build the attacking sequences, give it a purpose. To ease your “set plays” which again i wouldn’t call a play, slow the play down, give us time to look up see what is infront of us then we can choose, its sooo fast like relax.

  • the dummy half bug im sure has been addressed taking way too long to get there. i dont need to say much. dumb fix it!

SOLUTION: First of all ditch the term “set plays” they arnt plays they are shapes, plays are more complex and are done at training that are abit more targeted and specific to the players and who they are versing. hard to do unless you have create own play mode (future topic) focus on it being a shape which offers OPTIONS’ in attack, now pick 6 of the best RLL2 shapes add them into the game and maybe we can select 4 of them and assign them to each direction button and we can use. BUT explain them in a demo mode, name them ,make them give some substance when doing it. It may not lead to try but at-least it staggers the D line, make it up to us as the player to make the right OPTION.

Kicking:
why is it a chore trying to get a kick away at the end of set. The bread and butter of league is win the cycle, complete sets and get to your kick. Every time i try to kick it if you get touched you drop the ball, and its so hard to stay in a cycle if your just dropping it. fails to add polish to a good set. Why are you making it hard? even RL1 would slow mo made it so much easier, again i go back to it RLL2 easy why change.

MINOR THINGS

  • bench on the wrong side (easy fix)
  • the interchange on the run way too small and i press forwards then backs come up? again just easier to not get that wrong, double check before publishing.
  • halfback and 5/8 swap. again you wouldn’t get the goalkeeper out of position in a game, swap their sides. lack of attention and awareness.
  • 100 new animations according to CEO, okay provide to us all 100 of these (and im talking gameplay not cut scene stuff)
  • few rules need to be updated
  • hard to distinguish bench from starting 13 , font and colour just make it easier, again small details,
  • in game stats, not sure why removing features from other games
  • when you run out show the team? again weird to remove ahah
  • show the name of the AI on opposite team who has the ball

Im sure theres a-lot more to add, but please i hope to have a response and see some action taken. happy to ride out the season with what we have but w changes to the minor things, but the Big things listed above needs to be addressed now so come 2026 its ready to go. We are spending $$$ now actually show us you care and make these changes, this is not a new game its a reskined RLL4, delete the bloody RLL4 base and start over.

lock in, take it in and show us you know the game of Rugby League.

Just little bugs I’ve noticed..

No 1st or second half indication during match on scoreboard or in menu.

Some pitches ie Shark Park missing white lines on sides of pitch and whatever is behind them.

Hard to see the power of in play kicks.

A lot of negativity around and understandable but also let the guys know what is working well, heres some from me:

  • Passing feels better when executed.
  • I find not using sprint as much when attempting to execute plays works ok and gives good feel for game. I like to use sprint to exploit a gap mainly.
  • I like to drive in tackle most plays and only shift when I need to, this way the hooker is not as far away to get quicker ruck speed.
  • I do like the new kicking targeting and contest system and the animations for this look and feel different to RLL4.
  • Sound fx when kicking have a different sound to other titles which I think is more realistic sound.
  • Have had intermittent experiences of my AI players running to holes in defensive line and make for fluid attack which also had support runners I could draw and pass past fullback.
  • Player models look great that have been scanned in.
  • Spotted some different cut scene animations (refreshing to see something new)
  • My first game as Manly Turbo went down with leg injury (great realism there, ha ha)
  • New camera and animation for player run out onto field.
  • Have had instances where another player other than hooker going into dummy half but only when shifting to a sideline player from other side of the field.
  • getter better distance on grubber kicks than previous titles, I think with new kicking animation.

Thats all I can think of for now…

i just put in a grubber and doueihi dove on it 4 metres out not even reaching the line, it went to the bunker and it was a try :rofl:

btw the ref doesn’t announce 5th and last

also if you enter replay mode it turns the commentary off for the rest of the game

btw they spelt Leichhardt Oval wrong on the wall near the goal line

btw apparently james tamou is resurrecting his career at 36 years old as a fullback :+1:

Id also like more tutorials. I played a bit of RLL4 when it launched, but I don’t remember the controls, or what the icons are. Luke when my team has the ball, and you press down on the d-pad. What are those icons? What does that change? There are 5 tutorials for the most basic things and that’s it. Even just a glossary to read would be fine

I’m not sure if anyone else has pointed it out, but I’ve noted from playing some Play Now mode that:

Golden Point Limited Time will play on after a try is scored.
Golden Point Unlimited Time - Does seem to have a time limit and the first to score does end the game.

I’ve played 9 hours of this game on Steam and heres the summary.

Every issue explained in the above thread I have experienced at one time or another. The only issue not mentioned that happened to me was one of my players got stuck literally in the goal post and couldn’t move in a pro league match.

The most frustrating thing I believe all players can agree on is that this game feels like a slap in the face for fans. It feels that game was made by people that have never watched RL in their life or don’t understand it at all.

Maybe get some fans to test the game for you next time Big Ant cause I could of told you this game was straight cheeks instantly.

Finally if I were to sit here and explain individual issues and glitches with the game I would be here for hours. Pretty much everyone’s posts above explain it all. EXCEPT anyone that praises this game, obviously they haven’t played previous RLL titles in the past.
