Rugby League 26 - Megathread

the pro team games are incredibly buggy

Wow that’s strange. Are they going to add an update that actually fixes something or add one that keeps breaking everything more

This is a big one for me, why no full time stats? Can’t look at opposition teams meters, tackles etc…

negative, i just played against someone in the pro challenge and the whole game shut down… eeekkkkkk

I’ve been playing some AI v AI, like I’ve been doing in Rugby 25. The match gameplay isn’t bad although there are some issues.

However, it would go a long way if the devs could incorporate half time and full time stats. Very similar to R25, there is no definitive half time break unless you pause the game yourself.

It just goes straight into the 2nd half after a brief cutscene. I’m sure, like my self, others would like the opportunity to view stats at half time. It would go a long way in deciding upon interchanges for one.

Speaking of interchanges, playing AI v AI you never get to see these changes, Infact there isn’t even any notification of them.

But yes statistics make up a massive part of sport. If Rugby 25 (R25) can have them then surely the devs can add them into RL26. Or at least I hope you guys can.

I know the games only been out a few days and it’s had a rocky start. But please Big Ant :ant: add these to your game going forward in a future update.

It would make a big difference, and a good one, if you did. :+1::rugby_football:

Took the words out of my mouth. There’s absolutely no positive in the updates that have released. They haven’t fixed anything.

They’ve broken the ref, the scoreboard, more crashes etc. games getting worse than release if anything.

All that I desire from the game is …

  1. Decent RL gameplay.
  2. Be able to make a Dublin City Exiles squad in the fan hub thingy.
  3. Get the Irish national team to win the World Cup!!

1 is mandatory…2 and 3 are optional. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Beyond disappointed in this, really lowers the longevity of the game. I played multiple seasons of RLL4 running a comp and choosing rep teams of player stats and now you can’t even see how many tries have been scored.

How do you ā€œplayā€ an AI vs AI game?

Fix the player positions in Pro team.
They are cooked

Have they fixed the trophy bug yet

  1. Go back to button tackling like rll2 and rll3 but added in more animations and it feels more like your in control over those animations then just using the right stick
  2. More goal line defence animations and a pushing animation when it comes to those corner tries like maybe using the X for Xbox or square for playstion to counter those corner try animations
  3. New stepping animations especially for those agile players and just known for stepping like ponga, tuivasa-check and plenty more and forwards should have a simple stepping animation compared to the backs but not all because we all seen that step from salesi foketi as a prop beating the fullback
  4. Fending - would love to see more fends animation like the tedesco push off fend or like staggs fend off and the bump off animations click the right stick needs more animations added for that as well
  5. I’m just asking for more animations and signature animations so there’s more not all players feeling the same

I’ll wait a bit longer then.

Genuinely upset with this game so many bugs considering it was an 8 year make, when in attack there’s always 2 players up where the defence is and the rest are standing about 20 metres back, I can’t fend what so ever the game is really laggy aswell very poor was so excited but now I want to get my money back for it

Hey everyone, I’ve been following the launch of this game very closely, and have decided to hold on purchasing the game yet given the crazy number of bugs that seem to be reported. I will continue to follow closely, as I am a huge league fan and would eventually love a game where I can play consistently. I have no interest in pro team, it would purely be career mode only. While I believe a lot of these bugs will be ironed out, my biggest concern is around the overall feel of the game, from videos I’ve seen, it’s just people running around side stepping and making linebreaks. I’m interested to hear of people’s experiences with the following:

  • Overall feel of a League simulation: Forwards dominate the middle, fatigue wears in and it opens up throughout a game. Often a defensive struggle, it takes more than catch and pass to score, and misdirection, decoys and block plays help open up opportunities.

  • Ratings: I’ve seen posts about forwards running down backs, I hope this will be fixed. What about other stats? Kicking is something I am particularly interested in. Kick Power and accuracy should have a huge impact on kicks, Mitch Moses should be able to kick the ball a good 50-60m, but other halves don’t have that power, and front rowers definitely don’t have that. Based on my above comment, stronger forward backs should dominate games and open it up more for backs, if I am playing against a Canberra like forward pack, I should really feel the difference in that. Also, tackle breaks, fends etc, star level players should feel like that, and make game changing plays that is ratings based vs user based.

  • Career: The thing I’d like to see the most in career mode is scouting and player development. How does it work with junior development, especially with no NSW Cup, curious how you manage the lower grades and bring players through? Is there scouting across other leagues/teams where you can poach younger players and sign them? Something like Katoa being poached out of the Panthers juniors to the Dolphins. I’ve seen a video where you put funds towards coaches/scouts/trainers, how does this impact your play? Interested how these decisions impact the club and players.

It seems like the game needs a lot of work, but interested if people think there is a path where this game does become a realistic simulation of a League match, or if it will continue to be a bit of an arcade where gameplan and stats don’t matter that much.

It’s so disappointing, I think the graphics and even player movement look great for a low budget game, but if it doesn’t feel like a footy match, I’m really not interested

When choosing your team just leave your controller highlighted in the middle.

That way the game will play out AI v AI or rather CPU v CPU. You just then basically watch the game as you would a real life game on the tv.

Edit: sorry if I confused you with the term ā€˜play’. You don’t actually play the game just watch.

Yeah I feel gameplay is heading in good direction, manage to get passes away close to the line etc, kicks are fun and ai players are finding space…just some little tweaks here and there and im happy but i am big on attributes and fatigue playing a major part in player behaviours…

I’m playing on pro and getting good results. Last night won one and lost one with the warriors, both good scoring games won 32-18 and lost 30-22. One thing that really bugs me is there seems to be no ā€œaccidentalā€ offside or knock ons and forward passes only get called some of the time. Anyway, one thing that I’ve found that helps to play is not always holding the sprint button when attacking, this gives me more time to run the set plays and put players in holes.
