I wasn’t expecting the game to look vastly different to RLL4, I just wasn’t expecting it to look identical to RLL4 with a new scoreboard and updated jerseys. I don’t play enough Fifa to comment but I can tell you right now, Madden 17 is a vastly different game to Madden 25. Hell, look at the difference between all the different Rugby League Live releases, they all resemble the sport of Rugby League, but each are dramatically different (in some cases better, in other cases a step backward)
Naturally year to year releases won’t change much i.e Big Ants cricket games which is fine, thats the nature of the beast.
But we aren’t talking year to year, we’re talking 8 years and a console generation of time in which they haven’t even updated the kickoff animation, which even when it was released at the time was janky and weird looking.
Like I said, I hope for all our sakes the day one patch dramatically improves things. Rugby 25 has had about a thousand patches and isn’t even close to being anywhere remotely playable to the extent Rugby League Live 4 is, so I am not hopeful based on what we’ve seen so far.

To be fair though, Fifa does get released yearly as opposed to the 8-year wait for the league. If you compare this year’s Fifa to the one back in 2017 there would be (I assume anyway) a substantial amount of differences and improvements.
Rugby 25 isn’t really that in-depth game is boring after 4 games janky and pretty much same gameplay from Ai from every game no variation in gameplay.
I will also add don’t get hopes up about leak gameplay is old build and day 1 update will be huge heard and seen it nothing huge changes r25 still in a bad state
Given how nacon/ba have gone about things over the last few years it looks exactly how i expected it to.
Cricket 24 was a carbon copy of cricket 22 with a big marketing push aimed at massively improved fielding. The fielding is terrible with multiple bugs still unresolved.
Rugby 25 is an absolute disasterclass
RLL26 looks to be a copy and paste of an 8 year old game.
Nacon have played a great hand. Aquire a developer that made niche sporting games.
Spend the budget aquiring licenses which could deter competitors. Then have the devs do the absolute minimum creating the new game. Finally release a shoddy, well below par product that people will buy because theres no alternative on the market.

Looks similar to the old fanhub menu, showing the 2025 Hull FC team with 2 of their current jerseys, the 3rd alternative jersey is missing.
Likenesses look really good for both previous NRL players and for Hull’s academy and lesser known players.
Not sure the player ratings are what they should be, a few academy players and a semi retired prop are the highest rated so far!..

Theirs a livestream on yt boys! Watch it from the start, Please not ross has confirmed this is a very old build not even version 1.0 and is closer to 0.3 so is very janky still. But graphics look amazing imo same with most player scans!

It looks like a graphically improved RLL4 but the gameplay looks the same, hopefully the Patch makes big changes.

The stream is showing off player scans and it looks like none of the the Cowboys got scanned and I noticed a heap of roosters who hadn’t either. THe actual players who are scanned look amazing though
I’m just having fun watching the meltdowns on twitter lol

100 percent, this game is a copy & paste, if anything the gameplay was smoother in rll4, watching the beta the delay in the hooker going to get the ball is the same in the rugby game. So disappointing they didn’t even add in new plays atleast.

Not being able to get any sort of Quick PTB is not far off a gamebreaking issue IMO
Seen someone comment they’re giving us the bare minimum couldn’t be any more correct mate. Literally dressed up the menu, updated rosters/player likeness nothing we couldn’t do already on fanhub. The base was solid to build on just needed to smooth out gameplay atleast add 1 new play into the mix, or 1 new stepping,try,kicking animation but we got rll4 with rugby 25 delayed breakdowns after 8 years. Disappointed watch mrlukesports playing the beta right now on youtube
