So when it comes to the 50m it really comes down to the situations of play. There have been some I have reviewed where the user changed to a player which triggered the rule break which resulted in a 50m being applied, as there will be times when the player team AI will be immune to certain things when these setups are happening.
There are also some which I have sent along to the team where it’s hard to determine what did happen. Some people have sent in replays which makes it very hard to diagnose the situation. On PS5 there is a way to capture direct gameplay which is super helpful for us to look into over the replays so we can see what could have triggered the penalty.
The best way to stay safe, for the moment, is to avoid the rapid changing of players during the setups to reduce the number of potential rule breaks. I know the protected zones are being looked at for an update on how they work and how AI respond to them based on some of the footage the community has sent in as they are not perfect when reviewing them. When changing those intricate systems it does need lots of testing to make sure the changes improve gameplay.
Thanks for this. I got a very clear explanation in my support ticket on this, and can see the player that infringed. (too close to the man on the mark… although no where near the player kicking in as that mark is a long way back).
I hope the change-player stuff is getting looked at (L1 on it’s own), as it doesn’t appear to switch to the other highlighted player anymore… and it seems to go anywhere but the intended player.
Not sure what the algorithms are for this… but maybe this could be an option the player can choose in future versions (i.e prioritise defensive player, prioritise attacking player, contextual, closest, etc.)
One that’s trapped me a few times is when the AI has a kick in, and plays on, running right at my man on the mark. I give into the temptation to just run at him and tackle, but the umpire hasn’t called play on yet and I’m pinged. I like it though - prior to that, I used to just run at the bloke, intercept his little kick in and slam home a goal. Took away that little loophole
Or an ‘in depth management mode’ which had been my biggest attention ‘grab’ since player career was ruled out, but haven’t seen management mode deliver ‘YET’
