Long winded rant ahead:

Am I being too soft?

I currently play ProTeam with my Bronze Basic team, because I know the names of the regular, good players on there… and if I don’t get matched to them then I assume I’m playing someone with medium-low skills, and the Basic team will make it a challenge (and save me contracts).

Also, it’s no fun for them to get smashed by a star studded team by 150 points, they’ll probably never play again.

Had a game last night with my Basic team, and the guy ended up being good, and he beat me by 3 goals.

Anyway, I will always play out a match even if I’m getting smashed (but have been stung with very few random disconnections). However, if I see a decent player in the guernsey select screen, I’ll back out, select my good team, and hopefully match with them again.

Would you consider this ‘quitting on you’?

And last night this one good player, refused to play me (10 matches in the lobby - but he backed out every time before the start). Eventually he got abusive on the mic saying I quit on him before… and I think he’s referring to that?

Or Maybe I had a disconnect with him once? Or (more likely) I haven’t, and he’s actually just scared to play my best team.

Anyway, it brings back the need for a ‘Reconnect’ ability, for any random drop outs.

But also, what could the flow be so that I can choose my team AFTER I see who I’m up against?

Maybe show the player name, their Prem Challenge Ladder position, and how many games this season they’ve played, THEN select the squad?

Also, showing how many times they’ve selected ‘Quit Game’ from the menus… i.e explicitly quit a match. So we can see who are the quitters.

What do people think? Is it only me who wants to play a lower rated team online?
