AFL 26 - Megathread - This is not a support forum

Crystal ball time - I think we’re in the middle of a new cycle that’s overall more good than bad.

  1. Release game
  2. Big patch after 3 - 6 months
  3. Maintenance with 90% of love given to Pro Team till the start of next season
  4. New teams added, chance of one more big patch (~one year later)
  5. Back to maintenance mode, all effort directed to the next game while things get pretty quiet.
  6. New game release ~ two years later.

If I’m right I wouldn’t get your hopes up for major improvements.

While that’s disappointing I think still it’s better because there’s a chance BA have struck upon a sustainable model incrementally improving tennis, cricket, rugby and AFL every couple of years. I prefer that to getting a new game every 3 - 5 years with no idea of what’s happening next.

Also the big fish will be a new physics engine - which surprise surprise (almost) lines up with the launch of the PS6. That’s going to take a mountain of effort.
