I think they should implement a confidence mechanism similar to what is used in cricket, as it exists in most versions of the game.
Key forwards typically start with high confidence levels, while defenders begin with low confidence. However, these levels can change based on performance. For example, getting caught holding the ball might lower a player’s confidence, and missing shots on goal while on the run could also contribute to a decrease in confidence, especially if a key forward is struggling with inconsistency.
The higher a player’s confidence, the more accurate their kicks tend to be, and the opposite is true when confidence is low.
So higher difficulties shouldn’t mean that they never miss
So with cricket out now, and league still needing it’s own fixes, I guess any hope of any sort of bug fixing patch would likely come with a 2026 roster update now, if at all.
I sure hope they keep a back log of those tickets. We don’t all just play pro team!
Crystal ball time - I think we’re in the middle of a new cycle that’s overall more good than bad.
Release game
Big patch after 3 - 6 months
Maintenance with 90% of love given to Pro Team till the start of next season
New teams added, chance of one more big patch (~one year later)
Back to maintenance mode, all effort directed to the next game while things get pretty quiet.
New game release ~ two years later.
If I’m right I wouldn’t get your hopes up for major improvements.
While that’s disappointing I think still it’s better because there’s a chance BA have struck upon a sustainable model incrementally improving tennis, cricket, rugby and AFL every couple of years. I prefer that to getting a new game every 3 - 5 years with no idea of what’s happening next.
Also the big fish will be a new physics engine - which surprise surprise (almost) lines up with the launch of the PS6. That’s going to take a mountain of effort.
To be honest I don’t really care when a new game comes out but the whole reason BA created these forums was to have all feedback in one place.
In the early days people like JNT were all over giving us as much info as he could which was great but ever since he moved roles there just hasn’t been a dedicated person to drop into the forum and just keep us informed.
Personally it would be nice to hear from someone every 3-4 weeks what’s been happening even if it is nothing, there’s definitely some things that can be tested and polished in the remaining life cycle of this game ready for the next.
Sorry I’ll clarify I’d be expecting a new game every 2-3 years
Like what they did with afl 23 they put in manual kicking late into that game and it was a hit, then manual handballing came in at the start of this version.
I just feel like they should look at all feedback and after the first year let us know they are adding x-y-z as it’s been most requested and this is the direction we are taking for the next game.
Yeah that would be a welcomed addition and in their RL26 game, the heart beat (haptic feedback) in the controller when lining up for goal is great. Would love for that to be faster or slower based on confidence or game situation. As I said the other day a subtle detail but they use it in other titles so it’s not like I’m asking for too much with that one
There seems to be an online bug where your ruckman becomes unmovable, but on the opponent’s screen he is invisible.
When he gathers the ball, your opponent’s screen darts to the bench (thinking he’s there), but you can still handball out.
I had this against me a few times, and it’s impossible to defend because you can’t see what’s happening.
Has anyone else come across this?
I had one player mention it to me, and the one last night accused me of hacking (despite me telling him to interchange his ruckman).
I had something similar couple weeks ago at the centre bounces. My ruckman just lost all control and couldn’t contest for a full quarter but the other player could ! It was super weird, I still got the W so I just let it slide haha
Haha yeah, it’s a strange one. Not sure what causes it but I suspect it’s something with the interchange.
Also, I had one game start where I couldn’t do anything with my players… and the AI completely took over. It managed to kick a goal for me before I gained back control at the next bounce!
Completed the Fyfe & Duncan objectives - 19k xp away from introducing TRAC
Not sure if anyone else has completed all the BASE objectives but i’m just about to tick over 10000 hitouts and need 50 more goals to finish the BASE off
You just have to be smart and read all the objectives and place players accordingly for example kicks 150 odd goals with a captain and get 248 contested marks with any Fyfe card.
Make Fyfe your C and play him 1 out of the goal square with high tactics so it’s basically 1 on 1 out of center bounces.
it’s all about finishing multiple objectives in as less matches as possible haha
