I stopped waiting but it means I haven’t shared much until this week. It also means that I’ve had to buy the game twice which is less than ideal.
How’s everyone’s PT objective grinding going ?
I’ve just knocked off all my weekly and Season objectives, Just need to chip away at the accumulator which is pretty tough 82\350 matches played.
I’m not sure if i’ll grind the Premiership mode this season as the end of season award is only a sapphire pack with a few FP in return.
Once I reach level 40 that might be me for PT this season !
Impressive as always mate! I’m just touching on level 17 so still a long way to go.
Pro team feels dead. Have been logging on for my daily prize thing, and then logging off the last like. 3 weeks. Gold packs in the market, no new diamond or obsidian cards.
Level 40 reward being a diamond Dangerfield that can be found in the market with unlimited contracts is also insane.
Didn’t realise the level 40 can be found in the auction house ? Those cards need to be rare and shouldn’t be able to be sold or purchased that way.
Agree 100%
On 23 a couple of seasons ago I pulled the level 40 reward halfway through…good for the garden and walking the dog, less so for grinding the last 250k.
As premium cards can go for 10k - 20k maybe the auction house isn’t at the centre of the issue, but I think BA need to build in some exclusivity sooner than later. Have high rated Dangerfield cards sure, but as far as this season is concerned this one card should be available now and then gone for good (imo).
Agree, cards should be made exclusive especially the grindable ones.
Being able to just buy Tom Green and Matt Rowell instead of grinding the objectives is a massive problem if you want engagement with the content.
Quick little thing I also find myself not wanting to play premiership challenge due to lack of rewards we are getting from the weekly, just not worth the engagement or am I the only one?
Whilst I agree that Level 40 cards should be rarer than all others, I also think that if someone grinds their way to obtaining that card then they should also retain the right to pop it up for sale.
They may not want or like that particular player or card for many different reasons so I think that’s a reasonable scenario.
In 23, I think I’m right in saying that the grindable cards could be found in packs the following season? I assume that’s going to be the case here too. Whether that’s right or wrong it also gives players late to the game the chance to obtain the card to ‘level the playing field’ so to speak.
There’s plenty of different level of packs in the store this week as well
Yeah I guess I wouldn’t hold back on someone who obtains it at 40 to re-sell but I don’t want it popping up the next season in packs or in the auction house for the current season. At least you know if only 100 people finished the progression there would be 1/100 available.
I first noticed this back when they had Dusty as the end of season reward and it felt good grinding to get him all to just see the card pop up everywhere soon after.
I’m with @hawks00 a little bit here in regards to not wanting to play premiership mode as much this season, weekly rewards are average and the rank 1 end of season reward is a bit of a L
I can see what they are trying to do in dragging out the stages of the cards as it’s a new title and they don’t want it to be flooded with the best cards early on, but there needs to be some attention given to to how you have a balance of the early stages of a new PT game for AFL 26 but also you do want teams to look different based up rare pack luck or to the grinders who manage to get a really hard objective done to claim a card not many people will be able to get.
I like the bones of the mode but the cards and rewards definitely need some attention.
@JNT_BA key forwards in ‘Season mode’ kick a crazy high amount of behinds. If you stimulate a season, key forward behinds will be double, triple and sometimes quadruple the given key forwards goals.
Total team goals behinds for simulated matches will be realistic, however almost always most teams behinds are scored by the key forwards. For example if Sydney kick 10.13 vs GWS kick 15.9 then Joel Amartey may have 0.5, Hayden McLean 1.4 and Jesse hogan will have like 2.5 and Aaron Cadman 0.2
It is frustrating if I’m playing a season as one team with 7.5 min qtr games and the highest CPU Coleman leader is Ben King with 26.68 followed by Calum Ah Chee with 24.9.
The imbalance just appears to be with key forwards and in contrast the other players are too accurate, and this has been an issue in season mode since the game release
Agree - don’t lock cards from the auction house but if possible prevent them them from selling in the current season. 1. it cheapens the process and 2. it will build anticipation around the market rate in the new season. Do people sell them straight away and risk losing the premium? Or do they hold off and try and maximise the perceived value. Much more exciting then checking each day to see if someone finished the season early.
Re: AFL 23, I found you could pull the cards straight away. I put it down to a teething issue and it only happened to me a couple of times. But one of them was the level 40 reward which was unexpected.
I don’t mind cards being available the following season except for level 40. It’s a lot of work to get there if you’re a casual and I really think the achievement should stick.
That also opens up the opportunity for special rewards - we were talking about post season grinding, maybe there could be a third special currency - something that sounds completely different like ‘Hall of Fame Tokens’ where you can save up to buy retired cards from a closed marketplace or other ‘legendary’ items like 100 game FO contracts etc. It would be for the tragics only where ideally you can’t buy your way in with PTC.
There’s new Travis Boak Objectives in proteam now, Reward is a diamond 93 Travis Boak.
Haven’t had a chance to get on tonight I’m keen to check it out
This is a really good discussion and probably shows in part why it’s so difficult to get the ‘balance’ right for all types of players.
We’re all grinders so we see it from our point of view first and foremost, however what is a good reward for one may not be a good reward for another.
I feel like this season there’s a lot more on offer to progress through the levels easier, ie more higher XP and FP boosters on offer in both Ladder Leaders and objectives and there also seems to be a bit more xp on offer via objectives too. I’m guessing this is in part to try and get a higher percentage of players to the level 40 mark? Perhaps this is why rewards seem a little lacklustre to some?
For some of us, more Player Packs might seem better because we’re going to hit level 40 regardless?
And what about Old Mate who absolutely loves the game but only has the opportunity to play it once a week? Should he be excluded from the extremely rare chance of snagging his favourite player of all time in Diamond because he can’t get the same amount of time to play as the rest of us?
I’m also in the camp where I think what’s the incentive after hitting level 40? I bet there are some that want to get there as fast as possible so they can get that Diamond card in their team to make their team better in Premiership Challenge or playing Coach Battles on Hardest.
That’s a long fence sitting essay right there but if we’re having this discussion then I guess it shows the gameplay is at a very engaging level at the very least!
Edit Also just to add, the new Ladder Leaders are genius. Giving you a choice of which reward to attack and in some levels the risk/reward of chasing a ‘better’ reward comes the risk of a higher difficulty
Can we pleaseeeee get some updated crowd noises, and dynamic crowd sizes? Bit weird that there’s no roar after a goal, and i had a fully packed MCG for North Melbourne Vs West Coast on career mode ![]()
I feel like that’s definitely something that will get worked on in the next game, just not this one. Hopefully night and day cycle too. Foundation is there in the cricket games so definitely possible
You’re dominating as always mate! I haven’t played too much this season as yet but on level 17 so far - I am finding it a little tedious to continually grind with some objectives. I am doing a road to glory with $0 spent so I love things like the travis boak objective to keep the grind going BUT things like 350 games for a singular pack is wildddd.
I don’t know if I have the solution but I do find the tougher/more time consuming objectives need some better rewards, should be worth grinding for
I’ve been playing a lot of player career mode and have a suggestion for a small addition in the upcoming patches.
In marking contests, there is a natural element of jostling and body contact, which sometimes leads to a push-out. This interaction is generated by the system based on timing rather than being fully user-initiated.
It would be great to have the option in open play to hold down Square to initiate body contact, making it fully controlled by the player. This would allow for more engaging interactions, such as holding an opponent’s arm or performing light shoves, instead of just bumping into each other.
Currently, if you initiate a bump from too far away, you get penalised for blocking or bumping. A lighter version of body contact initiated by holding Square would be beneficial, especially in player career mode. With this feature, players could create separation when done correctly, while still facing consequences for excessive contact.
ya know what jostling in marking contest should also be fully manual
hold down square to engage your opponent - and then release and a quick press of again to push off
Hello - looking at getting this game. Wondering if anyone can tell me if it supports ultrawide resolutions (3440x1440) on PC?
Yep it does. I have seen the different display sizes in the settings, and that’s one of them.
