Looks like the Weekly Objectives have changed to be ANY card from those teams (not specifically 2026 cards), so they should be achievable now.

I think the contracts for players in management mode and player career are bugged. Just had a draft in player career with only 4 players selected.

Also had a look at manager mode, all my players are contracted for this year

New update is out for consoles (562.6mb)

I think we have to give BA some credit here. It was a minor oversight and they jumped on it.

Also I think the patch is a little more impactful than initial appearances. Last night I saw some things that looked amazing, hopefully these types of thing are going to be happening more often and are not just freakish isolated incidents:-

  • four players went for a contested mark at the same time, with the one at the back going for a speccy. Although in game it was ‘just’ two sets of two trying to mark the ball, visually it looked like an attempt at a huge pack mark. It really popped, bravo.
  • an AI player running for the ball didn’t pick it up in time and they - hand on heart - kicked it along the ground as they were bending over like it was the magoos. Looked awesome.

Stuff that has definitely changed which is really working:-

  • the pill can have a mind of it’s own. Contested grabs remain easy enough to pull off but the ball feels way more likely to spill from the contest in a realistic manner. Like it is reacting to the contest instead of the code thinking ‘mark condition = fail / ok let me animate one of the eight different options for the next bit’
  • the way a loose ball can roll towards the boundary is way more realistic. I’ve seen a few times where it loses all momentum and comes to a dead halt right on the line.
  • Players losing their feet is happening a lot more. Some that have been a free every day of the week but hey it’s progress.

So great progress with the gameplay. The stage is set for the golden goose aka fixing the awkward dynamic where you can let a tackled player stand up and everyone just stands around for a second while the contest resets. I can see why the game logic allows it to happen, but hopefully a more realistic sequence is in the works given the ginormous carrot that is HTB on the second tackle.

Yeah now I’ve played a few games I’m starting to now as well just wish I could see the other clubs injury’s also

Yesterdays update was just some Pro Team stuff and stability. Nothing major.

Is it possible to change players preferred positions in management mode? Want to change Archie Roberts from a defender to a midfielder

Seeing as we started the year with a bang and got a pretty big update early on, I wouldn’t mind seeing some love given to Player Career Mode as well.

At the moment, I think that mode could feel a lot more fleshed out.

One big thing I’d love to see is in-game goals or objectives, so you know exactly what you’re being judged on during a match. Things like hitting a disposal target, applying pressure, getting score involvements, or locking down your opponent would make each game feel more purposeful.

It would also be great to know clearly what your position is and when a position change occurs. If the coach moves you from half-back to the wing, or throws you forward, there should be some kind of notification or indication so it feels deliberate and you can adjust how you play.

Live match ranking or performance rating next to your name during the game would be a great addition. Something that lets you track how well you’re performing in real time would make it easier to understand whether you’re actually playing your role well, instead of just guessing based on stats at the end.

Honestly it needs to be harder to level up your player - After just one full season I could turn Tobyn Murray from a 68 rated player into a 96 rated player.

Well to be fair, it would’ve been an almighty effort for Mason Cox to make it into the Team of the Week given they didn’t play….
