so latest patch has added this in, which can be toggled on and off
pretty straight forward and looks like a stamina right underneath the player.
Although, one thing BA should have done better visually is to have the on field kick power bar run parallel to it and not still have it in a semi circle design. it just looks badly designed everytime the power bar appears. I assume it will be the same for the on the run kick at goal.
If the stamina bar is going to be the dominant visual feature on screen and having it underneath the player. may as well update the other visual indicators with it in mind (run it parallel).
Respectfully disagree, forums are great for discussing bugs.
For example if objectives are tracking for some people but not others, 99% of the time you just need to wait.
The āsupport 4 supportā here is encouraging, Iām 0/2 myself. The next time I have a legitimate issue Iāll try them again. The Adelaide ticker is still zero so maybe this will be the one.
There was a development yesterday however - Iāve had stuck txns from the auction house since
Christmas. Yesterday the actionable backlog finally populated and the white dot is no more. Happy days.
Agree that ppl reporting system crashes etc expecting something to happen isnāt the best use of time. I donāt think any game forum will ever see the end of this type of post however.
The distinction people often fail to recognise is that thereās a process in place for reporting them if you want action, weāve been told that many times. The very title of this thread is āthis is not a support forumā.
My point is, if you expect something to change because itās blurted out on the forum, you have a significantly smaller chance of it happening than if you report it via the ticket system.
Imo both the forum and support are equally as important as a player. Lots of times Iāve seen someone mention a bug here etc that I may not have noticed or picked up as of yet, and then gone and tested it and reported it as well
For their support page as well Iāve had a ton of success with it. A few weeks ago I submitted some issues with management career, and to Big Ants credit most of it is fixed
Would be cool if they changed the lawn pattern on the stadiums to be all different Iāve never seen the mcg or marvel with the lawn stripes going that direction, and have scg a little beat up. Only a little minor thing but would make every stadium feel different.
Man I hope something is done in future versions to fix the lighting, along with the replays. Lay a big bump, a cracking HTB tackle, good bit of play to set up a goal, take a hanger, whatever - you never see it again!
Goal replays from a better angle/zoom that include some of the build up to a goal. Highlights at each break. Yāknow, stuff that you get watching an actual game.
Not having training templates in management mode, so if you need to change it up you currently have to manually adjust each day for each line. Every player has 400 points to manually boost their stats - what the? You can just make everyone awesome, regardless of whether theyāve played, played well, etc. Senior listed depth players not getting a game in the VFL at all.
@JNT_BA these things arenāt so much as a glitch, more just things that fans would very much love to improved - is this the sort of feedback that is better sent to support, even though itās not an actual āerrorā as such? Or is general feedback/hopes & dreams best sent here?
Things that still bug me with the game and hopefully will be improved on as toggle option or even new additions.
manual aiming is fantastic and honestly makes the game fun to play. However, wouldnāt mind an option (possibly a toggle options) or a change in how the system works where, Once you press X or square to kick or handball. Your player should maining the speed and direction prior to the button press and the joystick is wholly dedicated to aim. A game that does this while not afl 26 is TE4 where once you get into position and press a button for a shot the joystick is wholly dedicated to aim.
The amount of times Iāve had separation from a chasing ai player but then get htb because I had to turn my player (thus allowing myself to be caught) to aim is annoying. Players kick away from their bodies all the time and having a power and accuracy decrease would be good depending on the angle.
Final thing and was something that annoyed me and caused me a win is that while playing as a team we rely on the AI to make runs into space. We need more control (mentioned in earlier post that we need a manual way to call players to a certain spot)
other sports games have options for players to make runs into space and afl26 def needs some update to allow that.
Agree with all the above but one positive I want to throw in there is that the recent patch seems to have taken the edge off just bombing it long. It used to be the best available option 90% of the time - and it still is if youāre in the clear - but in traffic youāre probably better finding a player that is running into space. The goal kick button for long balls aināt what is used to be.
Also Iām almost positive itās harder to take a mark when two players are standing shoulder to shoulder. But the slightest advantage in timing or space and youāll probably clunk it.
Also - itās already been acknowledged - but the AI pathing is definitely improved. The oppo positions a lot better now, even on easy. Defenders run further upfield etc.
The system is still a WIP but I think the latest patch proves that the game is (slowly) headed in the right direction.
Yeah, the game, after all the latest patches have made it extremely fun.
so had a 79 - 79 draw where I was in the last 5 minutes trying to kill time.
Had no luck going long so played the short precision kick game in my def 50. But yeah, AI team players just didnāt run where I needed them to (pockets of space 10-20m) away. Tried my luck and failed, and getting towards the end of the game stamina was down and I just got rebounded and conceded 3 goals.
Game direction is good JUST GIVE US MORE CONTROL in a game where you control a team (realistically, you are controlling one player at a time) would be nice to be able to dictate how others should move around sometimes, while in play and not paused and adjusting tactics
Others might argue tinkering with the AI settings. But like I set the AI to play the way I want the whole game. Just need that time where I want to manually move players to a certain position
One of the old games had a ākick to leadā button that made an AI player run towards you. It was great having that level of control but it also broke the game. To have any chance of losing you had to forget the button existed.
I wonder how something like that could be implemented without it being massively OP or - through tweaks and balancing - a waste of time and the same old crap shoot. Perhaps the goal kick button could pull double time as a precision passing ability with a similar mechanic. L1+R1+ circle appears to be available, just need a way to call the player.
Maybe you could initiate using both players at once. Player with ball commits to a precision pass which transfers control to the receiving player. You control the position but the next button press kicks the ball. Provided there was some type of skill check that could be a fun little bolt on to the gameplay. And it would take some of the heat off getting the AI perfect.
So in an earlier post i suggested a system which works in the following way:
While in possession of the ball (for example, after taking a mark), you can press and hold Triangle (seeing I think thatās the only available button while in possession)
While holding triangle, you can use the left or right joystick to manually aim for a spot on the ground where you want an AI player to run into - release the triangle to complete. (will kinda feel like how drop punts work in RL26, where if I remember, they hold L2 and use the joystick to aim)
This will allow, firstly, more control of the team you are controlling and not have to rely on kicking to space - hoping a player runs onto it or if not, swap to a player to run into space after the kick has been taken.
This will make the player run into open space and then go for a kick, which right now the AI just doesnt do when we want them to. So having some manual call would be nice.
Some players might even use it tactically to drag players away from congestion (for examaple you wanna go down the middle cause that is your set tactic - you AI call players to the wing (reducing the amount of players congested in the middle before you send it.
And honestly, I think if they were to implement it (fingers Crossed) they need to make the game harder with marking (Manual) and AI smarter. That way it actually makes us use this new system to overcome harder AI and the AI defenders should be able to recognise the AI running into the assigned space - therefore, it gives players a short window to execute, which should reduce how OP it can be. Pretty sure there is a setting in custom diff which is āreaction time to changesā
Sounds good - would only work when the play has stopped, correct? i.e. you canāt get teammates to run to the right when you are trying to run to the left.
My suggestion has this issue. I donāt think itās a showstopper per se.
honestly it can and should be both, if it ever comes into fruition. Cause if i remember correctly once you have possession of the pill Triangle is freed up and is not assigned to anything.
@nickers I was thinking this a couple months ago, replays need to be wound back at least 5-6 seconds. The build up is normally better than the goal.
The camera is definitely way zoomed in it needs to go into a broadcast view side view or zoomed out end to end view. Iād be pushing for this to come in !!!
Also had this absolutely smooth centre clearance last night hitting lynch lace out. If the game played like this all the time it would be elite
