AFL 26 - Sliders

Just playing around with the sliders a little bit.
It does feel that AI run speed is a big difference maker. Turning that down slightly along with upping the tackle distance and lowering ball spillage rate creates more contested situations. The game doesn’t feel as “ping pongy”. On 7.5 minute quarters I feel like I am getting realistic scores now.

So what’s the best settings

I haven’t been on enough over the last few days to play around with as much as I’d like to. Still waiting for @JNT_BA to get back to me about the tackling :joy:
I probably won’t have a proper answer for a couple of weeks

But it also comes down to how you prefer to play. Some people like congested footy, some like free flowing so there’s no concrete answer.

Your sliders are quite good mate. Looking forward to refinements.

Take your time please I feel like the only way to get a true representation of footy in this game is to refine it, hence I don’t actually want to buy the game until I can play it in a realistic fashion. Players being able to kick the ball flawlessly for goal while being tackled and having the three blokes around them is an absolute game killer

@shlev your slider set up has vastly improved the playability of the game, looking forward to further adjustments

So here are my current sliders that I’m happy with. One thing I was testing and wanted to get right was the increased handball distance, and I’m really satisfied with how that played out.
Next thing I’ll test is the tackling effectiveness once I get a translation. I was also given a suggestion to increase tackle distance to 100 and that has been a nice change for stoppages. Still no solution to the AI kicking goals when tackled unfortunately, but I have notice an increase in me scoring them.
@Andii23 I don’t have one for every setting, but I assume you could change the base difficulty? Sorry I’m not sure how it would work, this is based on Hardest.

So Tackle Effectiveness works as a modifier on the “strength” of a tackle. Tackle strength is the ability for the tacklee to interfere with the tackler DURING a tackle. Specifically, will the tacklee be able to break out of the tackle or handball or kick properly.

This is for your player, not for the AI at the moment. I had a chat with them and asked for this to also have one for the AI.

Amazing, thanks for that mate. I guess if an AI slider can be implemented, that would solve a lot of people’s complaint about goals being able to be kicked when tackled. I’ll play around with this to see if I notice anything.

What I would define as realistic yep, as I’ve said it’s suited to how I like to play/feel is real so everyone could be different.
