AFL 26 - Sliders

Has anyone got any good sliders to share? I’ve tried changing them myself but can’t seem to find the right balance and am tired of winning all the time with the Eagles against much stronger opponents

how long til you post them? and do they make the game hard

I am testing my sliders atm after the recent update and patch, once I have had the chance to run a few games and happy with what I see stat wise, I will post here, can’t give an exact timeframe. As for does it make the game hard, it makes it realistic to the norms of AFL in real life or close too. But that a very variable question as for some the game may just be too easy no matter how hard you make the custom sliders and vise versa may be too hard for others, but I will post here when ready and you can feel free to try them :slight_smile:

Has anyone managed to find a good balance in the sliders to make the game more difficult and realistic when using a team like WCE in manager mode? I’ve tried but haven’t succeeded yet and am still winning by ridiculous margins

Unfortunately BA haven’t made the CPU hard enough on the base for it to be difficult and realistic.
This can happen in sports games that you’re simply too good for what they have to offer, the only way to have a challenge is to sacrifice realism

Have you found a way to make the game more difficult? Because I’m happy to have a less realistic game if it’s challenging :blush:

My biggest thing is marking, so I put the marking an spoil timing down to make it nearly impossible to win a contest, meaning the cpu always has the ball, meaning it’s harder for me to score. You just need to adjust the sliders to what you’re good at to make it harder. As mentioned, it’s going to get to the point that no matter what sliders, you’ll just be too good for the CPU.

One thing I did also is make sure I’m not playing anyone outside the top 6, as the CPU become way too easy

I just need the opposition to kick the ball longer and actually find targets from kick outs. I always spoil just so I don’t win by 100+ since that’s what would happen if I marked every kick in the opposition has

That would be more of an AI behavioural thing than sliders, something BA need to address.

I do get you though, and you don’t want to get to a point that spoiling is impossible too because then realism goes out the window.

Does changing the field kick distance help it though? Probably the only thing I haven’t played around with. Although I did drop the goal kick distance

Nah that’s only for user kicking, won’t change how the CPU behaves unfortunately

I’m not sure if this is something sliders could rectify or not, but I’ve noticed kfwd’s are really inaccurate in the simulation. Like Josh Treacy has kicker 31.37 as the leading goalkicker of other teams. Interestingly small forwards like Rhylee West (22.15) and HB’s and midfielders are much more accurate. Just noting this is in games I am not playing, accuracy in games I am playing is pretty good.

Could someone share their sliders? Been finding it hard to make the game challenging

The game will never be challenging sadly. What I’ve started doing is drastically lowering the chances of me winning a marking or spoiling contest. Which makes it harder to move the ball and means I’m not kicking 30+ goals every match :pensive_face:

Alright I think i’ve nailed the sliders for a challenging gameplay and much better AI to play against, you will need to download the new Updated teams i’ve added with all new 2026 line ups the big change within each team tactics i’ve buffed everyones play style for play on, hand ball risk, kicking risk all to 80 this makes the AI react real quick to better options. IMO this is the best feeling i’ve had with player v Cpu
