Best sliders for realistic fun game play

Tried these settings tonight, the main thing i did not like was the Side Step Modifier, too aggressive for my personal liking. I dropped it down 10% and felt it was fairer - probably could go a bit higher.

But that is the problem, all of this is personal preferences. Some players like to actually play defence, others leave it well alone an let the AI do all of the heavy lifting.

After changing the side step, i had a good experience.

Not sure what stats allows the user and the ai to shake loose or break a tackle when holding on from behind, has anyone figured this out? Can’t find the medium setting with this, its either to many shake loose the tackle/break tackle from behind or almost none or occasional 1 effective shake loose or break tackle. Trying to get the setting that would be somewhere in between.

Exactly. I think people make the changes then play a play now game and they seem too work but they do some very strange things when you play a custom comp.

Yes my custom difficulty does not work on custom comp

Gave this a try last night all settings as you have them. Played a 30 minute half.

Not sure if the recent update or the custom settings did this.

I had 56 missed tackles to the AIs 3. This was due to defenders diving at ghosts just about in every tackle.

Only about 20% of tackles ended with the attacker on the ground.

Way too many big hits, way too many errors not created from big hits and way too many intercepts for both the controlled team and the AI team. Way too many offloads by the AI team.

I probably had 2 or 3 successful fends the AI had at least 3 every set.

Side steps were relatively easy for both sides. Metres were hard to make for me, i had around 560 the AI had over 700.

There was a lot going on and i managed to be 12 all at half time. I had the ball 52% and the AI 48%. All 4 tries scored were through good play. The AI with cutout passed 10 metres out putting their player in a gap and i had one from dummy half side stepping through the line a few metres out and one through the ball going 3 passes wide then the ball being turned back to the fullback and him running into a gap then 20 metres to score under the posts.

The stamina loss was pretty good. It was a very fast game.

The good thing was it worked in a custom game so it is a good platform to work off.

It’s so interesting to hear everyone’s perspective on the sliders. A lot of the issues highlighted I’ve not yet experienced, and I’ve been playing a career mode with them in use..

My biggest concern was around big hits causing far to many errors, and I’ve tried my best to nullify that as much as I can.

secondly, I had to increase the side step modifier to get the AI to play some attacking footy, that wasn’t predictable, one out runs.

The engine seems capable, but the difference in play from one person to the next is so alarming - granted there is a natural discrepancy in one persons skill level to the next.

I try to play the most authentic game possible, and work hard not to exploit game mechanics.

I have literally made an account just to comment on this as well, because this has been my biggest hang up on enjoying the game.

There’s no obvious setting for it, and the frustrating thing for it is that it either highly benefits you as the player, or the AI. I’ve never seen it work for both teams at the same time. Kills the realism for sure.
