Cricket 26 - Megathread

Look at my attached screenshot. The game is irredeemably poor. The DL is doesn’t work whatsoever. This and many other reasons have put me off this game - but this was the last straw. I want a refund and am requesting one.

Issues That Need Attention

- AI fielding is far too perfect — they never miss the stumps on a throw; every direct hit is automatic.

- Caught & bowled is massively overdone — I’ve had 10 caught‑and‑bowled dismissals in my last 4 games, which is nowhere near realistic.

- AI chasing logic in T20s is off — there’s no real strategy, no adjustment to required run rate, and no situational awareness.

Would be great if these could all be looked into in upcoming patches.

It would be Great If There You can Introduce a much needed scorecard Through which we can see 4 and 6 Tally with Strike rate in Front Of batsman’s Name and his Score , Currently its Not there in the game.

for those who came in late…me…..how are test squads selected in career mode………..Mitch Marsh, Maxwell etc being in the squad….No Marnus, No Lyon, No Hazlewood, No Boland although all played in Marsh cup…ok the clusion based on simple logic is the game is not using the lineups from teams or form it is using player ovr….correct please if that assumption is incorrect…..ah and Marnus is in as all rounder thus Maxwell and Marsh ahead of him…..but why tho he is a batsman

Can you use keyboard on ps5 slim disc on cricket 26, and if you know how? @RossSymons

Long time Big Ant supporter and I’ve been playing their cricket games since Don Bradman.

I’ve got a few issues I think need addressing as I feel the game is unplayable in its current state.

  1. Shot force is incredibly unrealistic since the most recent patch deployed. The ball seems to just bounce off the bat and hits the boundary rope in under a second. I would love to see boundaries only occurring where user input is ideal. For added context, I play with the shot force slider at zero which makes this even more urgent imo.
  2. There are literally zero edges in first class/test cricket. This, to me should be the primary wicket opportunity in the longest form of the game. Almost all wickets are either caught and bowled or bowled. At the moment, it’s not uncommon to see an entire scorecard with no players named in the field section as every wicket is generated and completed by the bowler. This needs addressing.
  3. Any edges that do occur rocket to the square boundaries in literally, about half a second. This just completely breaks the immersion for me as it’s not realistic.

Overall, a solid game but is lacking in some of the key areas which the other games did better.

Yeah AI batting is pretty bad, it keeps playing reverse scoops to spinners, when it should be playing switch hit or reverse sweep

Caught & bowled every over is just bad to see, also neither the bowler nor fielder doesn’t gather the ball if throw is not hitting the stumps, allowing for overthrows far too often

Anybody else think it would be cool to be able to select your career players milestone celebrations?

Honestly, nothing worse than getting a 50 and the guys prancing around with his helmet on his bat like he’s just scored a double ton in the Ashes. Really kills the immersion for me.

Seriously shouldn’t be saluting the crowd as he walks off after getting out for 53.

I’m guessing you can’t use keyboard on ps5 slim disc edition to play cricket 26?

Give such updates in this game like

- Licensed or unlicensed players can be added to any licensed or unlicensed team

- add latest all ipl 2026 rosters (Players) if their photogrammetry is yet to be done, add them without photogrammetry and give updates again after IPL and when photogrammetry is done.

Normal shots,Unorthodox shots, backfoot shots are more powerful than Aggressive frontfoot shots. Unorthodox shots and backfoot shots goes for six all the time. Front foot shots only with right placement goes for a six but that too sometimes even with ideal timing and placement. They always get caught by super human fielders inside the circle. Please nerf down the power of those shots and make it balance.

Nah these are just quality of life things. Priority needs to be on the gameplay which needs quite a bit more work - shot force, edge mechanics etc

Totally agree, they’ve totally misread what most people were talking about regarding shot force. We were all talking about aggressive lofted shots not being powerful enough on ideal and unorthodox shots (sweep etc) had been patched to remove too much speed. That was all.

There was no problem with normal ground shots and their shot force for the most part.

Exactly mate. Boundaries should be the reward for ideal input and gap selection. Everything else should be ones and twos. Right now, hitting fours even on the hardest difficulty, requires zero skill.

Yep 100% Tstannard.

All that is required for Big Ant to see this glaring fault is:

  1. To know a reasonable amount about cricket. I’m sure they do.
  2. To turn on the game and start a match.
  3. To play for 5mins.
  4. Play some ground strokes and score a couple of boundaries with a medium rated player (70-75 rating), hitting ok-good timing. Watch the ball shoot away like a rocket.
  5. Play some lofted aggressive shots. Hit ideal timing. Occasionally see them go into the closer parts of the stands, but no further.
  6. Get some edges. Watch them go like laser beams through the field to the boundary.
  7. Try unorthodox shots. Get ideal timing, look at how comparably weak they are to other shots.

There are so many issues that prevent this game being anywhere near where it could be.

With fielding, it’s never the case that you can chase down a ball to the boundary. You can’t really tap anything back properly on semi-assisted. You can’t do a dive near the boundary and flick the ball back. Fielding should be exciting and dynamic by now. People should be leaping up and tapping the ball back into the field of play with a well timed leap !!! Like what has been happening in modern cricket for 20 years now!

When you choose L1 to throw back to the keeper or R1 to throw back to the bowlers end, maybe 25% of the time it goes to the opposite end.

When there’s the chance of a run-out, players fail to break the bails often. Or they won’t pick the ball up rapidly. The whole process is cumbersome and not really working properly at all.

When the ball rolls away from the pitch, the bowler chases it and then changes his mind and runs back to the stumps and someone else has to start to run to the ball !!! No-one else knows to cover the bowlers end and let the bowler field !!!

Every now and then a rare edge to the keeper doesn’t get the slo-mo treatment properly. It’ll slow down and then quickly get past him and then flies off fast to the boundary. The game doesn’t recognize that it needs greater slow down for the keeper!

In Broadcast 1 that a lot of people play in, when you go to take a catch, it switches to a first person camera or similar and you can’t see the catch happen at all !!! That one is an every time bug.

These are things a 7th iteration version of Cricket should not be getting wrong, but they are. Sadly these are just off the top of my head.

There are so many more fundamental issues.

Very valid point mate. If a little bit of UAT is done which could literally just be, jump into a quick match, bowl 10 overs and bat 10 overs - a lot of these small things could be identified and resolved.

As you said, none of this should be a problem given we’re on the 7th instalment in the series.

I definitely agree, I time a lofted shot IDEAL on all three but still can’t clear the boundary. And the sliders are not making a difference. No matter what difficulty I am on, it is not going for a six on the leg side

That’s weird because since the patch Ive hit many 6s and many have complained about shot force being too much

I know ground shots and back foot lofted shots are going like crazy. But trying to hit a six on the front foot is not working. And none of the sliders or difficulty is making a difference to the power of the shot. No matter what difficulty I play on, just the timing is different. The power behind the shots stay the same

No problems here. Even front foot slogs.
