Cricket 26 - Megathread

I have had email exchanges with Big Ant over the last couple of days. At the moment the game is unplayable because the User Fielders do not take a catch, regardless of difficulty. The Support team are aware of the issue but have no timescale for a fix. I have told them that Big Ant can add Stadiums, players, new kit and equipment but if the user players cannot take a catch the game is absolutely useless. It is like having a football game where user players cannot head the ball. Despite all the improvements over previous games because of this catching issue this is the worst version of the game.

Please increase the edges. Bowling is unfun right now

This is what is likely happening with user AI fielding too. They take catches. But do that weird diving stuff when the ball is coming straight at them even at slow speeds. It’s strange. Because as I mentioned AI opponents dont do this.

i’ll admit I had t20 game yesterday and it was entertaining. The way limited over fields are set it’s okay. But in unlimited overs those stupid dives turn into 4s quite often with only 1-3 outfielders.

Yess, the no of edges are way too low

I have generally found that too, but have played a couple of games with Cracks on high rather than low or none and a day 2 pitch and we had quite a number more edges than usual. I wonder if you could see if that happens with you?

I hope you guys are working to improve how the AI goes about chasing targets in T20s.Irrespective of the archetypes AI needs to have situation awareness.At the moment AI is just able to chase in 1/20 matches and that 1 match AI chased was when I changed the sliders. I don’t know what is the reason that causes AI to play well in the very next match when I changed sliders and then again returns to its same state of bottling chases by playing slow. If possible please let us know how much more time it will take to fix AI because this game is already having so many bugs and now AI is also not doing good so all the excitement to play this game has been dead.

Any patch coming today? also any update on ipl face scans?

I know that now and again work is done and changes are made that are small enough to not be in the patch notes and that’s understandable.

I’m wondering though about whether or not some changes have been made to the pitch types, crack levels and day settings to make them more obvious than they were.

I’ve played a LOT of games going back over the series since Don Bradman and other than a couple of versions there seemed to be a consensus of opinion that the various pitch settings did very little in most cases and people were asking here and particularly on Planet Cricket for more variance between types of setting.

Well just recently I’ve noticed that in games where the pitch is grassy, there are more cracks and the Day is moved past a Day 1 pitch to either Day 2 or 3, that wickets are falling easier, it’s harder to bat and that there are more caught behinds.

I’m not complaining, I think this is good. It’s what you should expect from a grassier wicket with cracks and a day or two old wicket. It seems more precision is needed in timing and I’m fine with that.

I just don’t know if it’s been this way for a while or if I’ve just happened to have games of this type happen coincidentally or not. I’m hoping it’s actually the way it’s been programmed to be now, but would like to know, if any of the staff read this.

Anyhow as a side note, I’ve also noticed far less bugs in fielding, including catches not being taken off the ground for me since the last patch. So thanks for that!

I think the edges are just fine. Just had two in a row bowling with Jadeja beauties. One diving catch the other into middle stump.

About time this game has dual bowler type, there are so many players who are multi-skilled in bowling, there’s beau webster who bowls seam & spin, there’s Livingstone who bowls leg break & off break, gudakesh motie who bowls either type of left arm spin, ambidextrous bowler like kamindu mendis

Not to mention legends like gary sobers who bowled left arm everything, tony grieg, mike procter & symonds who bowled right arm seam & off spin, also sonny ramadhin who bowled both leg spin & off spin

Option to have such flexible bowlers based on pitch & conditions would make game so much better

I see new patch came. Where can we find patch notes

I ve put up multiple tickets still not resolved, cooper connolly and cam green wear gray nicolls helmet in real life but ingame they are wearing some generic helmet and not the gray nicolls one

Please fix this as soon as possible and alot gray nicolls helmet to them and also to others who use it, please do this on priority its a basic likeness error despite licensing

Every ipl team’s kits are fixed except mumbai indians, as they ve been alotted number 1 generic pads which looks the worst whereas every other team has modern glossy pads and also mumbai indians real life batting pads have a golden patch at the top left and right of the pads and also at other places, please add that as well as soon as possible as its easily correctable and a likeness issue despite licensing

attaching a picture of batting pads, ofcourse you cant add sg logo but can definitely add the golden patch wherever its there

1- alot them glossy pads as other IPL teams

2- Attach shiny golden patches as in real for Mumbai Indians

3- Alot gray nicolls helmets to Cooper Connolly and Cameron Green

patch notes just released these patches are pointless there’s been no key adds you know absolutely no entertainment in the game moght play fc 26 soon

If any BA guy is reading this. All the cosmetic stuff is good really want to appreciate the efforts. But the need of the hour is gameplay and AI related patch. Batters run so slow like they are jogging in some park. Still AI don’t take singles. Doubles are very rare. Only 1-2 double in the entire match. AI conservative approach while chasing. They tend to preserve wickets rather than slogging in death overs and keeps on failing to chase targets. Please do something about gameplay and try to have stability in the standard of the gameplay now. And also beware of guys who give wrong feedback about the gameplay that everything is fine.

Dont mind gentleman but i tend to disagree with you as in my cricket 26, ai tends to plan the chase perfectly and slogs like anything in death overs, so please try changing your sliders in a better manner, the gameplay is great at the moment

It’s good that AI is playing well for you. But for me and many others AI is not playing well even after using sliders. Out of 20 T20 matches that I played AI chasing just won once that’s it. Even if they have 8 wickets in hand AI goes for preservation of wickets rather than slogging. Settles for singles,plays dots after dots when it’s required to hit sixes and fours. Need more intent from AI in chasing that’s it. Winning and losing dosen’t matter if AI is showing intent. It’s not only me but also streamers are facing this issue.

Brother increase the ai runrate , wicket chance and ai batting skills in your sliders and yes ai wasnt working well but for me this issue was resolved way 2-3 patches before today’s patch even i raised tickets on this issue, try tweaking these sliders and see if there s any improvement

( for me ai runrate i use is 85 in t20’s, wicket chance is 60-50 for pace and spin and ai batter skill is 60)

Also change archetypes in player settings as many players have archetypes as flex, finesse, strike rotator, Anchor…these are useless for t20 matches set every player to either counter attacker, power hitter or all out aggressor as per players…if there is a player who plays on a slower strike rate in real then max give him flex type nothing else than these 4 work in t20’s for an immersive experience

This is all very good info Kahlon and those tweaks are probably going to help, but really the game underneath all the slider and archetype adjustments would still need some improvements in the AI logic area. The taking of runs from ground shots is still too riskless.

The AI should become aware of the increasing need for quick singles and doubles and be a little more chancey. I’ve played too many games where even the archetypes you suggest don’t take singles/doubles where if they did they could probably get away with it even with high run rate factor added in sliders.

The point is that behind the sliders on base settings they should play a better logical chase or set target game. Your suggestions help a lot with encouraging the AI to play attacking shots though.

You are absolutely right, pinpoint accurate and hereby i request you and other to post tickets about the same that the ai batting should be pitch and format specific in an immersive manner with a balance of the game

Also an important reason for this i feel is easy bowling in the game, i mean i am able to nail 90% yorkers perfectly at hardest difficulty and thats not how it should be at hardest and the batsmen obviously have no shots on a perfect yorker whereas if it get tossed up he smashes the full toss for a six or four, hence the bowling difficulty should be increased and be delivery specific as well as in it should be the most difficult to bowl a yorker as per match conditions
