Cricket 26 wishlist

Key Gameplay Issues:

  1. Timing System
  • Need a visual timing bar to help players better time their shots
  • Current system is unforgiving, especially against fast bowlers
  • Difficult to improve without visual feedback
  1. Batsman Damage System
  • Implement a damage/stamina threshold when batsmen get hit
  • Add consequences for taking body blows
  1. Spin Bowling Variety
  • Allow finger spinners to bowl leg spin variations (like Liam Livingston)
  • Make arm balls swing naturally with the bowler’s arm (like Akeal Hossein)
  1. Shot Selection Control
  • Current controls lead to unintended shots (e.g., scoop instead of sweep)
  • Need more precise shot selection mechanisms
  1. Fielding Improvements
  • Current fielding feels sluggish
  • Add ability to parry/push balls back in play when catching on the boundary
  1. Wide Line Adjustment
  • Make wide line relative to batsman position in online matches

Additional Suggestions:

  1. Equipment Licensing
  • Partner with more cricket brands (CA, SG, TON, SS, MB Malik)
  • Add more authentic equipment options
  1. Historical Teams
  • Include licensed teams from cricket history

Wishlist for Cricket 24 Improvements

  1. Real IPL Tournament Mode

Include an official IPL mode with real teams, updated squads, fixtures, stadiums, and tournament structure.

Allow player auctions, injury replacements, and real-time team management like the actual league.

Integrate IPL-specific presentation, crowd atmosphere, and post-match award ceremonies.

  1. Smarter AI That Plays According to Match Situations

Improve AI behavior to adapt to the match context—defensive play in tight chases, aggressive hitting in death overs, and field changes as per player performance.

Batters should build innings logically and avoid unnecessary risks in early overs.

Bowlers should mix deliveries intelligently and set strategic fields based on the batsman and match scenario.

  1. Fix Unrealistic Fielder Movements

Currently, fielders often reach the ball unnaturally fast, ruining the realism.

Introduce more realistic player movements, momentum, and occasional misfields based on player ratings and pressure situations.

  1. Reduce Unrealistic Direct Hit Run Outs

Direct hits happen too frequently in the game, which isn’t reflective of real cricket.

Make direct hits rare and skill-based, considering the difficulty and player attributes (e.g., fielding skill, throwing accuracy).

  1. Balance the Frequency of Caught and Bowled Wickets

Caught and bowled dismissals occur far too often in the current gameplay.

Reduce these incidents and make them more situational, especially considering shot power and bowler reaction times.

  1. Add More Cutscenes and Match Animations

Improve immersion with dynamic cutscenes for toss, player milestones, crowd reactions, and close decisions.

Include unique celebrations for different players and high-stakes moments like last-over wins or hat-tricks.

  1. Make Commentary More Realistic and Context-Aware

Enhance commentary so that commentators talk about current match situations, player form, milestones, and tactical shifts.

Reduce repetitive lines and add emotion, excitement, and storytelling elements to keep commentary engaging throughout the match.
