In career mode, you can not change your players styles when creating them. For serve style, backhand style, and forehand style, the only option you can choose is “Generic”. You are not able to go through the different ones in the game.
Please fix this immediately and make it so once this is fixed, I can also edit the hit style for my current career I have already started.
*this should be able to be changed before and after starting the career
The charity matches I have fixed up and will go out with a future update. There were some unusual requirements to access them, so they will be open at all times once that goes live. But you can still get say the first ones at least in the February charity match.
As for the backhands are you on two handed backhand?
I’ve tested everything, 2-handed backhands and when I unblocked Nadal’s, but it’s still not applied.
I’ve also tried the one-handed backhand and it’s still the same.
Even when you create a new player in edit mode (Home Menu) and you choose one hand and you choose Federer style for exemple, the backhand not apply. But the forehand is ok.
So all backhand style never applied on our created player.
And thank you for the fix Chaity match
If you can fix the last issue with backhand style it will be awesome
Currently i find the game really good but there are plenty of things to improve:
when your right handed players has to serve in the left side, if you switch your serve style to « slice » then change again, the IA will only adapt his position the first time, but won’t adapt his positionning after that, this glitch offers you a free ace if you move your player at the left… it would be nice to fix that!
the net game is by far better now but for unknown reason players always hit the ball too hard, meanwhile a real player will most of the time not fail to put these easy ball in the court! If you use flat or lift button the ball will go out, if you press slice button, the ball will go on the net, no solution. Devs has to fix one of these shots.
first serve are too easy, that makes second serve useless. Devs has to think about high risk/high rewards, depending on serve stats accuracy. I mean, even you are doing all good with your first serve, you have to get some probability to miss it, so you have to think twice before serving an other « first serve » instead of second serve with high accuracy rate, or slice shot instead of flat shot for example.
also devs has to nerf return, especially when your first serve is perfect or almost, with lower accuracy return, or higher ball (like reflex shot), depending the situation. Still in high risk/high reward, if you hit a first serve than can miss, the return will be harder.
for double gameplay i dont know if it has been fixed, but ia should be improved, they make to much time at repositioning after the serve.
No one did double fault or 1 in 100 matchs, because its easy to serve.
Return serv need work again, we return so easy CPU serve and CPU return so easy our serve. Real tennis its not like that. Serve give an adventage. We need to a real difference.
If CPU serve 230km/h, normally she did Ace or i go to the fault because its impossible to return a powerfull serve with normal forhand or backhand. We want to see a real first serve impacting for us and for the CPU.
First serve need to be more power but very risky (very very risky) and with this, the second serve will come a real second serve (very Safe).
Exactly, but in fact, this is not that much about speed, but about precision if we look at real tennis game.
You can serve at 230km/h, if you dont aimt specific spot, the serve won’t be that hard to return for a good player, and if the serve is faster, if the opponent can return hit, the server has less time to react to the return. The best example is Shelton, he serves extremely fast, but he hisn’t that hard to break, because he isn’t the most precise server, so when his serve is returned, he is quite doomed.
But indeed, fast serve help a lot!
I just wanted to notice that a player that can serve only at 190km/h or 200km/h can be an excellent server if he has a lot of precision.
Ideally, first serves needs to be at 55 to 85% success rate depending the luck/player accurracy.
This is a good way to adjust difficulty in the game, in easy level, it’s nice to help players to hit a lot of first serve in, and difficult/expert level, a more realistic “first serves in” rate.
I think the second serve in the game can me less “in the center”, ofc it has to be a safe one, but i think a bit less would be perfect.
And another think will be good to introduce is the STAMINA.
If the player or cpu have 30% stamina in the third set or 5th, he can’t serve with precision or powerfull line begining of the match.
For now the is no stamina, its here but it do nothing.
Players and cpu have same speed, power and precision in the first point and the last point.
Because actually stamina is just point per point and its up to 100% next point. They need to put a general stamina. If we loose lot of stamina in each point, then the general stamina will reduce a lot.
I totally agree, it should obviously depends of players stats, all players can’t have Nadal ou Djokovic stamina…
In “my career” mode, i want to feel that my player with low stats struggles to win long match, even more when he has to player many long matchs in a row.
