October 24 Tiebreak become best tennis game ever

Hi

I really appreciate the work putt by the dev since months.

They fix lot of issue gameplay and add a lot of content and quality of life

Now its the game what we waited for.

Thank you so much guys

We have all tournaments on exhibition mode AND on tournament mode offline.

The bug of Backhand style now is fix, we can choose separatly (forehand, backhand, serve and return), all work fine

The gameplay is fun now

The female umpire is here now with her voice :+1:

The roster is awesome (need Musetti, Monfils, Zhang, Gasquet, Jabeur)

Thank you @JNT_BA @RossSymons and all dev Big ant studio

Agree 100%

Its so fun now

Maybe the last thing we need about gameplay is the Stamina.

She is not impacting during match. Its only during the point but always comeback to 100% for the others games.

@JNT_BA if you can see with dev about this please

Even if we play 5 set, we stay 100% stamina when we play a game. For exemple when we start 5 set 2-2, we have always 100% stamina.

If you fix the stamina, it will be perfect

this update just came out right? xD How long did you test it? Why is gameplay better now than before? Is return nerved etc.? Is Serve a factor now? I am still at work for a few hours so i just will be able to test it later.

The return is still too strong, but there’s no denying that today’s update is very good! It won’t be long before this game will be worth the money.

Could AI finally punish drop shots or it’s the same? Thanks.

Sydney and Perth still missing in Play Now and Tournaments

Sorry, but I can’t see the option for a new topic!

Hello,
at this point I would like to point out a few suggestions for improvement to make Tiebreak more fun for the PS5.

  • Tracks are missing, especially on clay.
  • Playing doubles is absolutely flawed
  • The ball is a little too small
  • It should be possible to change the ball colour for grass surfaces
  • The ball speed should be adjustable
  • A challenge option is missing
  • Balls hit out of bounds should be indicated by the line judges
  • When serving, the directional function reacts absolutely inaccurately

I hope these weaknesses will be fixed in the next updates!

Thank you very much!

Not having any of those problems on PS5 and serve tracking did not seem off to me when testing,i will further test.

Definitely getting better and better, but still the issue of the ai never hitting out really hurts the experience. Not only is it extremely unrealistic but kills the immersion of the rally’s knowing they never going to miss the lines. Really hope this has just been removed to be rebalanced and not just removed permanently. Clearly this is easily the best tennis game available but just get this issue fixed and balanced well and it’s a solid game . Sliders would be a huge plus as well as that would only help the overall experience.

On Hard difficulty the CPU has hit long and wide since update but needs to happen more frequently but it is a fine line with them then making too many errors which will be too easy for players if it is not perfectly tuned.

Maybe it’s just a expert issue then as that’s all I’ve ever played, but regardless it should happen in all difficulty s. But definitely agree it’s a fine line but needs to happen. Pleased to hear it does happen as on expert I’ve never seen it for a good while.

How did you trigger the female umpire,i have seen 3 or 4 new male umpires all with different voices but be damned i cannot ever get the female umpire after about 20 different Play Now attempts.

my first impressions after 3 hours of testing. Once again it got a little bit better! They made the AI a little better in a good way this time. Movement feels more weighted and its easier to get wrong footed etc. especially with Tiebreak Movement system. That damn ugly jumping slice forehand got reworked a little(better now but not perfect imo) Murray serve got reworked(it’s not perfect but looks more like his serve motion). What do you guys thing of the new blocking animations. I think it’s a good way to go but they aren’t perfect now. They look too much like you get “sucked” to the ball with a lot of odd sliding. I think they need to get smoothed out more. Number one issues is still Serve/Return:
-it looks like BigAnt wants to keep their serve system and not RipOff the FAT system for example which in my opinion is the best one out.
-The Problem with the Serve system now and why it’s not satisfying. Only thing that counds is release timing. Thats the only factor plus its not done well imo. If you wanna keep that system why:
-aren’t you making the stick/direction matter more…you can aim with more to the lines but also get the risk of hitting it out.
-is the shot release timing so forgiving? I know you don’t wanna lose the casual gamers there if they almost fault every first serve but there has to be done something.

at least you have two factors then to the serve…Direction and Timing and not just one! But as i said…i would much more prefer the system in FAT or something similar even if its more difficult then to play HUD free.

Return: I said this so many times and i don’t want to repeat myself. Animation lock is a problem there for example.

Risk/Reward: I don’t wanna repeat myself there too…already said what i think about that and what could be done.

-Gameplay sliders
-overall bigger animation pool for all players when it comes to blocks, reaches etc.
-Sound!!! Pump up the soundesign when it comes to strokes! I think a lot of people will enjoy that and i saw this feedback a couple of times now.

to be continued…

Totally agree with the sound problem on Tiebreak! We hear the spectators too much (they react too early and too loudly during the point) and not enough of the noise of the players’ footsteps and their shots.

I play in expert, my player is a beginner in the firts career season (rate 49) i won this match first round of roland Garros only playing drop shot Every time. It’s not fun, its’ a great bug. I broke my opponents’ serve all the time, he litteraly unable to close a volley around the net…VERY SIMPLE VOLLEY…i think it’s the thing to fix…because the game for the rest is amazing!

Yes, this is a HUGE flaw! @JNT_BA please, do something with that in the next update because this really ruins gameplay. Drop shot is not risky to play at all and AI still can’t punish it by final ball.

You guys have me shaking my head, don’t you realise all you got to do with sound is go to audio settings and lower crowd spectators down to around 35 level which helps greatly because all the settings are on 100.

no no no @havastar i don’t know if you talking to me if you say “you guys” but what i am talking about has nothing to do with loudness! Belive it or not i was so smart from the get go and tried to change the audio setting there xD. What i am talking about is baked into the Audio Files of the Stroke sounds! Even if you lower the volume from the crowd etc. the sounddesign of the strokes isn’t punchy enough! It is maybe a recording issues or they did some equalization that wasn’t that right but it has nothing to do with the soundmix. Btw IMO the soundmix should be perfect if everything is at 100. Not to mention that stroke sounds etc. have a lot to do in which environment is played or how the outter micros in the stadium are set up. Listen for example to the sounds here in Halle, Germany. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeQlJXLmcMw

For me the game is definitely improving. Playing from the baseline is fun and I’m enjoying the mechanics of the game in this sense. While it is fun and can be very satisfying, it gets very repetitive and unrealistic. The problem is that net play/volleying is so poor that hugging the baseline is by far the most effective strategy so you end up doing it all the time. You’re unable to rush to the net and hit powerful winners when your opponent plays a defensive shot. I mean… you can but your volley will be tapped over the net as if your player is kindly passing the ball back to their opponent. The mechanics here just don’t work.

Improved volleys/net play and the ability to effectively serve and volley would greatly improve this and it could be a really satisfying/rewarding part of the game. It would allow you to end rallies sooner and prompt your opponent to take advantage of your court position and vary their shots more, ie try to paint the lines or go for lobs etc.

Whilst serving might be a little better now it’s still not very satisfying. In a real tennis match a good server will average 2-3 aces per service game. I find I’m averaging around 1 ace every two service games and when I do ace it feels random. Like I’m not sure why I hit an ace with this serve and not the previous one? It feels like I have very little control over how tight my serves are to the lines so it can only be about how well I time the release, which on its own is just not satisfying. When I don’t get an ace but the timing and power is still good, I’d at least expect it to force a defensive shot from my opponent, which would allow me to get to the net (assuming net play was improved).

Ultimately, while the mechanics of general play may have improved, the strokes just feel a bit lethargic and lacking power now. An increase in power in the volleys, power (and placement) in the serves and power in the fully charged ground strokes would make this game 100 times better.

Agree completely, I love the game in its current state!
