Hpefully AFL 26 will have some of the following:
Option to have more manual controls, such as:
standard field kicking, handball, and kicking at goal. (Give the control back to the player)
When they introduced manual aim kick, that was a game-changer for me.
Having manual handball would be great.
better tackling
more manual marking system (have the player choose their position in the contest when the player jumps for the ball) - easy to mess up, but the joys of getting it right will be rewarding
jostling and increased physicality.
Increase the feeling of weight of the players and not have players just moving unnaturally fast (have players build up to a sprint)
Less funky and straight-out stupid AI running around like headless chooks would be nice.
Manual set shot for goal using the right joystick. (pull back for power and push forward to release and aim the kick)
The timing and power bar is way too simplistic (even if they keep it, have the option for a manual control)
Oh and player switching - with so many players on the field and around an area - having precise switching to a target player can be hard - I feel like a switching system where players are assigned a button would work well.
I found that the players would often get out marked by the AI way too much! Sometimes my player won’t move into a better spot (losing a marking contest), sometimes I’d be in the perfect spot and some ai player from nowhere manages to come take the mark. Meanwhile if I’m defending and trying to take a mark from an opponents kick, I often can’t get it.
On that, hopefully AI teammates position better this time. Going down the wing, when an opponent marks, the nearest player is forced to take the mark regardless. 9/10 times opening up another opponent. Control should be open for the player to move away from taking the mark and take on the next contest instead.
Hopefully with the new marking system and BA mentioning Bumping, which I hope means the increase physicality of the game, may allow us to body the CPU out of position, reducing the chance of getting outmarked all the time by the AI and the ball just ending up on the ground.
The should also have ai change their tactics,
If they the the ai is being beaten on the corridor, ai should change tactics and stop the opposition going thru the corridor
@JNT_BA not sure how much you can say, but if even a slight hint, will we have past players/legends in Pro Team like Dustin Martin, Hird, Riewoldt, etc?
Will be the very similar tool kits. Won’t have the mass mod support like there was in titles many years ago. Will come with all the academy stuff with the additions of the content we added to TB and R25. So more customisation options. Im not going to be like hey so much new stuff!! Haven’t had a chance to go through it all myself yet. I’ve been mainly looking at gameplay the last while.
Yeah but I didn’t use any in my previous comments. Although maybe I should just throw in a Gary Lyon or Gothelions16 somewhere in my future posts randomly to have that covered
