Finally got caught up on everything, from someone whoās played a tonne of 23, this game looks like a massive improvement:

The blending between animations is the biggest improvement for me, players donāt look like theyāre āsnappingā from one animation to the next like they did in 23.

I love all the new gameplay additions (set shots, marking, jostling, bumping all look great), personally I didnāt think on the run goal kicking needed any major overhauls as it works pretty well atm in 23.

Player career looks like everything I was hoping for, the one thing Iād like to see added is an overall grade and stat bar for my player (similar to NBA2K) so I can keep track of my stats/performance.

Glad to hear thereās a 3rd person camera for player career, hopefully thereās also a button that allows us to change our point of focus from the ball to our direct opponent (trying to find your opponent after a turnover was always a struggle in Evo 2s player career mode).

The presentation improvements are great as well, those slow camera zooms/pans on the pre-game cutscenes are very nice and even the logo transition is improved.

The atmospheric audio (player and crowd noises) sound great as well, only a small sample size but I like how the crowd built up in anticipation as the ball flew towards goal on the set shot.
To anyone who thinks this looks even remotely close to 23s gameplay, you either havenāt played 23 in a long time or youāre just straight up lying to avoid giving big ant some credit.

Hear me out. Imagine they added a park in AFL26 like in 2K in mycareer. You could play HORSE at the footy posts (potentially wager credits) or just kick to kick with a mate. Maybe some 3 vs 3 games. Not too sure logistically it would work.

Shadows on the ground are very badly doneā¦even shadows comming from far off objects like floodlights and too sharp. Animations have improved a lot but minor things like absence of jersey physics really breaks the immersion. Not for AFL 26 but BA needs to improve upon volumetric lighting.

Do you know if in Player Career mode whether you can control/play as the entire team like normal?
Yep itās all in the player career video with what options you have!

He was playing on Easy
He was on easy, you can see it at the start of the match. Possibly why wind had less effect on goal kicking too
