Are set plays going to be a thing? Has it ever been confirmed or hinted at anywhere?
On rails set plays would be better than no set plays at all and surely they are not hard to do as all the players are running in a set pattern?

I pointed this out weeks ago!
Same with the choice of player by the computer when changing controlled player. It should take into account what direction you are moving the joystick, and pick a player going in that direction. Otherwise we end up moving the defender away from the opposition ball carrier.
An update in the works for two weeks has to mean big changes, right? (It has meant changes in cricket and AFL so far)

Seems like a lot of negative comments are being posted at the moment but it is worth remembering that the game is on the best state it has ever been. I have lost some games recently so it can be genuinely competitive on hardest.
If I could urge one simple change, it would be to make the opposition box kick immediately upon winning a ruck in their own 22 or third of the pitch.
Can I also ask @JNT_BA when more womenâs teams will be arriving ahead of the World Cup? Reminding also that the game crashes when playing with Australia.

Is custom players in career mode. Can i buy them?
Last time ive checked ,yes,you can use custom players in career mode but first you have to assign them to a team and the moment they become out of contract, you can land them an offer!

Yes, you are right, the game at the moment is in the best state it has ever been and for sure, it is now possible to lose on hardest difficulty, which has been asked for monthsâŚ.
But letâs be honest, would you ever watch rugby on tv if it was played as it is in R25 :
- first fend always beats the first defender, then no other skill move can be used
- to defend touch throws, just follow the opposite scrum half
- Mauls only going one direction
- Number 8 always picking up ball in scrums because if he doesnât, his team will get penalized even though they are winning the scrum
- Commentators always speaking nonsense, like they are not watching the same game as you, not even calling the good teams on the field
- Players scoring tries by clearly grounding the ball but the TMO refusing them all because a defender was tackling the try scorer
- Defenders never trying to defend on the try line against dives
- and of course, all teams playing exactly the same way, all of them abusing fends and offloads, never kicking, no set plays ever, not after a scrum, a maul a line out or a ruck, no set plays everâŚ
I would love to defend R25, but all the gaming mechanics are broken. When I try a skill move, my player should try to do it and the outcome should depend on player stats, impact angle and speed. Right now everything just seems scripted, first fend works then nothing else. Size and speed doesnât seem to impact the game, itâs just nonsense for a contact sport.
Come on Jack, letâs be real, if you have ever played any sport game, what do you honestly enjoy in any of the broken mechanics displayed by R25 ?

To add to what i already written about.
Offside is called when an intercept occured while the ball carrier do an offload at the same as is tackled.
Quite sure the game cosider ruck or activate the offside line on tackle rather than when ruck is formed (Tackled and tackler on the groud + a support for the team with possesion)
I really hate that User injured player are substituted automatically, i need to choose if i want to sub or with who make the sub.

Gameplay issue now. This is AI v AI on PS5.
Why are clear knock ons not being given as a penalty?
Even the referee blows his whistle and says âknock onâ. Yet play continues on as though nothing happened?
Literally just had another scenario with a knock on, referee gives the penalty, it even comes up by the scoreboard saying âKnock on No Advantage â. As before play continues as though nothing happened.
Iâm not expecting anyone to listen as it seems no oneâs advice or concerns are being rectified in any patches put out. However, I will just add is this something that is being looked at and potentially fixed along with other issues in an upcoming patch.

Does the game crash for you using PS5 with the Australian Womens team ? I got the same problem.
Yes, usually straight after the game has loaded early in the teenâ teams into.

Ok. Good to know I am not the only person with this problem. I have made the developers aware already and they are working on it. I Just not sure if it affects all PS5 users but thanks for confirming. I guess not everyone has tried to play with the Wallaroos yet. Did you have any custom players in your Wallaroos prior to this bug happening ? I had a theory this was maybe the cause ?
To add to this, when did you last watch a game of rugby where
-there were no jackal attempts
-no ruck penalties, hands on the floor, side entry, player going off feet, neck roll.
- no strike moves by attacking team
- no attacking shape of any description
- no phases where attacking players help drive the ball carrier forward in contact to make yards
This game is so lacking in gameplay mechanics its embarrassing

Exactly, all this stuff had the just wait and see excuse to fall back on in development and Early Access periods. At that time it was still potential.
Full release is really when the game had to take shape and make major leaps to being completed. Potential had to start turning into results. It has never been anything more than potential. The game was fun at times when there was hope it would be pulled together. I picked 6 to 9 months after release to be good. But I expected to see much more progress than this 
But this long on ⌠the game is still in an EA state and simply being âthe best it has beenâ doesnât mean anything. The best it has been is still the worst rugby game ever released lol. Quand mega succulent game fixing patch?
I mean the game looks great, there are some really great small points done really well. But just way too much bugged, broken and completely missing to even be considered the most complete rugby game of all time. That just sounds like straight up false advertising to me.

Trouble is with the AI first fend off if we revert to them not breaking through the defence then you end up with 7-0 or low scoring games, at least with the gameplay as it is you get exciting Matches imo,
Also the last game I played on hardest against AI I still won 5 tries to nothing tier 1 v tier 1. They still canât score, it is easy to cover every run with a second defender.
There is no intelligence in the AI, just the artificial bit lol.
