Offsides still broken AI do cross kick but player miles offside and go and score a try
The game is finally starting to feel consistently playable, which is great progress. However, the AIâs kicking behavior is becoming a serious issue. No matter where I kick off, the AI consistently returns with a 50/22 and often even a 22/22- which completely breaks any fun the game has. In one recent match, this happened repeatedly throughout the first half. I only managed one ruck turnover and had just 14% possession, yet the AI can kick from their 22 deep into my 22. Itâs frustrating because, otherwise, the game feels like itâs really starting to come together.
Iâve had the same thing, not from 22 to 22, but Iâve had it four time from about 5m out from their 22, so can quite believe it. It is ruining the game at the moment and doesnât seem particularly scaled to difficulty level either!
Agree that a lot of the game is coming together in other ways.
On another note:
User general play kicking is still occasionally janky (meter almost judders going out to itâs limit at times) and not quite long range enough.
A pocket player will now quite often not be available! Iâve had this several times a game and sometimes you have to push the d-pad down again and again to get one to move into position. Finally they still havenât been patched to stand still on reception of the ball from a pocket call.
I have noticed discussions regarding editing team stadiums for the Pro D2 since March, and it was mentioned that an update will resolve the auto reset once you edited teams. This issue is still happening on my side. Spend alot of time to create all the stadiums and then change all the stadiums on the game for the Pro D2 just to start playing the career mode and nothing is updated.
I also picked up that when the opposition kicks a 50/22 kick and it goes into touch, they keep the throw in to the lineout, but my players did not even touch the ball.
And lastly the scrums are impossible. Does not matter what I do I canât seem to win any scrum.
Hope some of this can be resolved with another update.

Thanks, will give it a go again. I have followed the steps before, and I win the ball the camera changes to my side but before I can take the ball out of the scrum the scrum collapses.
Last time ive checked ,you right ,if you add a new stadium to a team ,it doesnt apply for career mode ,only competition mode!
Update: i gave it a try today ,changed zebrze s stadium and it was upside down
I could play in career mode on a custom stadium but once i quit its resets back to normal
Players always break the first tackle.
at the end of the game my tackle states look like:
Tackles:56
Missed Tackles:58
Itâs a bit silly.
Also, can we get more penalties? Like 5-10 a game? at least? The ai conceed a penalty once ever 30 games and as a player its basically impossible to conceed a penalty.
Try tackling more with the Y button. Use LT so that your player can line up the attacking player easier to make the hit. @JNT_BA is it my imagination or is there ruck benefit when tackling using Y and the player is driven back?
Also like how the AI youâll see now alters its pace for a split second, it pulls your line trying to make a cover tackle wrong, thatâs pretty cool and nice way to make things harder without offloading and break tackles the whole time.
The break tackle thing happens but I find using Y its alot less as itâll attempt to break the tackle, but then get tackled eitherway.
Please @JNT_BA can we just have the player names back on screen for both teams. Why is this not possible, itâs there at the start of a match until ball position are switched then it disappears.
Also must the graphics on the Xbox series X be so bad? I have a ROg Ally Z1 Extreme which is not a powerful device, the game looks alot better on there than by series x.

100% agree on this that the 50/22s are a game ruining thing atm. Just makes it unrealistic and so obviously rigged that there just isnât a sense of competition in the game when they just decide to kick one from a situation which most really could ever manage irl.
I think the game is a little less playable after this patch. I have no idea what that driving tackle thing is about either I see zero difference in any of the tackling.
*** Ok so the above was talked about in hardest difficulty. I did not realise difficulties had actually become a thing now. I just played a game on easiest and the AI did 0 50/22s lol. Also, I had stated lineouts were almost impossible to steal on the opposition side but they stole lots of user throws. Seems that is also difficulty as I stole most of the AI throws on easiest.

Just on Ai Penalties as mentioned today in this forum.
I think it would be great to get the game updated to see more Ai penalties occurring for whatever reasons and for particularly High Tackles.
With The British and Irish Lions Tour about to start I am sure everyone would love to see more aggression, High Tackles from the Ai and our own players when we control them. Yellow Cards, Red Cards. Personally I want to see more Fire and Brimstone out on the field and the Referee using his interpretation to Penalise, Sin Bin or Send Off if I play Lions Tour games.
Please try to make this happen for the game if it can be programmed, coded or with your patch update Sliders.
I can only say this morning I played 1 match and did 1 high tackle with my own player, It was a small positive to see from the latest patch.

What i like :
Ball carriers are now able to break tackles without performing any special move, the only thing that could be nice is more animation of the ball carrier trucking or trying to gain the line.
Whatâs not good :
- defense line is still poor no defensive positioning itâs way too easy to score try and to break the line..
- offensive positioning is still poor i canât get any difference when i want my forwards to work or my backs
- tackling animation seems like 2 tacklers animation is not existing anymore way too much one on one tackles
- need to get that jackle animation back if my guy is first at the ruck i should be able to jackle the ball thatâs not the case
- please its been since day one we asking to change the counter ruck animations i ainât playing a bowling game
- driving tackle seems Like a good idea but i dont see any difference if i have a positive tackle that make the offense get back i should get a bonus to counter ruck
- how is that even possible that since EA 1 youâre still not able to make the number 10 not running while kicking when i ask him to be on the pocket
- quick lineout is not working
- 50/22 everytime by the EA itâs Boring canât he be more diversified like grubber, chip and chase or a punt
- still lake of diversity in offense for the AI, one pass, hand off break the line, being tackle, 2 passes and 50/22 itâs so boring
- hand off, steps way too strong you need to reduce them and implementing more offensive animation.
Overall itâs playable but not enjoyable since i still donât have the basics of rugby like the rules and the lineout is trash and itâs being repetitive too fast so i can just basically play 30 min and i have to leave the game because itâs boring
We need the ability to beat more than one defender. You do a shoulder charge or fend and it is guaranteed you beat the first man, but you can NEVER beat a second man even if you use a different skill move. This is super unrealistic.
Also where has the bump gone, it has completely disappeared. It is the best skill move in the game and it is non existent. I have clicked down on the RS button ahead of time, just before, repeatedly, held it clicked down ⌠nada, nothing, zero, zip, zilch

The AI does a strange S bend run at the defensive line atm which makes the defender just stand there, no animations nothing. The baller carrier just runs at them, the defender stops movement in place, then the attacker just runs an S bend, not a step animation or anything. Maybe there is an animation missing there? Would be strange if it just stays like that.
So there are a bunch of things that seem to be happening which are good.
*The difficulties having some difference is great (Still too many 50/22s in all above easiest though imo).
*The scrums seem to be *fixed? I used Canada vs Ireland and managed to get through all 6 shoves, then was forced to pick it up due to pressure. I played with the All Blacks vs France and could run through all 6 pushes and then just pass from the base with the 9 which I havenât been able to do for a long time. So if there is some nuance creeping in there to give variety on what you can do due to scrum pressures which will be different in many scrums due to skills etc then I am all for that. Just needs better user feedback to say what is happening and why as you have already said you are addressing.
*If the AI S bend run that you cannot tackle is just waiting on an animation to match in there as though they beat the defender that will be good too. As although it looks strange atm the situations it happens in are right, so when they match that will give the AI believable line breaking ability.
*On easiest I noted the AI went for 50/22s still but missed just, also had one break and bounce back infield. So again if those are tweaked they can end up very good for differing outcomes.
So in among all the nonsense there is still a good opportunity here (Yes saying that years on is crazy lol). Whether or not it gets seen through we will see I guess.
Passing still needs tweaking. There are some crazy flat rocket fast passes that just look wrong.
Its the little simple draw and pass tries that keep me coming back each patch hoping for more
With lineouts, look at Rugby Challenge3/4 lineouts, rather implement that where we can move our players forward or backward and choose a throw, that way we can also throw in skew or or straight (MORE REALISTIC AND FUN)
The scrum system is just nonsense currently, every time a collapse scrum unless you pick up immediately, there isnt even a option to wheel the scrum, make it realistic, maybe with Bind/Set option where it might be early which result in a free kick or penalty.
I dont understand how forwards can box kick the same amount of power as scrumhalves, also how the AI can kick with forwards 50/22âs but I dont have enough power with my Flyhalf.
Give more height and depth for kick-offs so we can contest for the ball, and give us an actual button that works to Jump for a ball, a Button to put the ball down in the In-Goal area of my own or in the Opponent.
The Jackal button doesnât work. Change the unbind button on DEFENSE, because it just changes players in the rucks. Fix offsides and advantages! Advantage sign stays on the scoreboard after advantage is over. ONLINE, allow us to make subs in-game or half time.
Change the Goal-kicking system to sometime more fun. Weather, Dirt on Jerseys, dirt on field, Take the Automatic Substitutions Off for player,
Adjust Competition Menu/Setup, to be the same as Career mode, with players that are injured, they must stay injured. On competitions We still cant see HOW MANY GAMES WE PLAYED on the Log.
