Rugby 25 Megathread

We need sliders and more frequent patches. Rugby League 26 Is getting all the attention right now and they have no problem testing frequent updates. The team on Rugby 25 must be miniscule compared to the resources RL26 is getting.

I’m glad you put two options, because October 127th is October 127th.

When is this happening?

I played a couple of women’s games yesterday and they flow so much better than men’s games for some reason. I even did a long pass out to my winger that wasn’t a bullet and felt like it floated naturally which was the first time seeing it.

Looking forward to the Wrwc update, I’m not a huge womens rugby follower outside of the wallaroos and Aus 7s but will play the rwc update if it stays more enjoyable than a men’s game.

Has to be what the whole patch will be next Wed.

Right, when RL26 then has 3 pages of updates that the community have requested and we get a new ā€œmodeā€ or comp with no gameplay fixes. That would be (another) kick in the guts.

That will be disappointing if its just Womens world cup content added and nothing else  because like you say the actual game needs fixing and thats what we need. :folded_hands:

@JNT_BA still here ? haven’t heard anything from him for a while ? :sweat_smile: :man_shrugging:

I’ll try:
Reasonable:
we have loads of teams that are licensed. Nobody cares about gameplay it’s the licensing that makes or breaks the game.
Rugby 25 budget is way bigger than RL26. Because you guessed licensing. Now let’s get more licenses.

It’s like putting lipstick on a pig.

We need a ā€œSmallā€ patch like RL26  :crossed_fingers:

Passes, tackles and tries flawlessly crafted can go in the bin. When crafted gripsocks, the true essence of Shep’s feet ?

Quand Patch?

I think a lot of people are particularly annoyed that we have moved to three weekly patching and after that huge wait we had a patch that really didn’t improve the gameplay experience much beyond almost fixing punt kicking. Broadly speaking, most patches for Rugby 25 have had a one step forward one step back kind of feel for a long time. If we are lucky we get a two step forward and one step back patch.

Meanwhile, Rugby League 26 arrived in a much better state and has had patches that have in nearly all cases improved the game and wider experience. There have been very few backward steps. It’s like five steps forward and none back!

Now that Rugby League 26 is in an overall very good state and many users are significantly more happy, they are now adding things that are in the nice to have category. Guess what? They are functioning and working well on introduction!

They have a match type designer where you could set the points for each match at whatever you feel they should be within a certain range! You can even make rugby union point scoring!

What makes that even more hilarious is that it is something that I suggested in here weeks ago. From a programming standpoint it is a very easy thing to introduce, the points for a game are just a integer value to change.

Did the Rugby 25 team do anything like that for us? No. Because we can’t move to nice to haves yet, because we have a clunky game that doesn’t play like rugby union very well at all. Anytime new ā€œimprovementsā€ are introduced it’s always with accompanying flaws or issues for a large segment of the user base.

We have a team that seems to deny there’s anything wrong with the new goalkicking system that was introduced, despite several people reporting it, because it’s not happening to them. We give feedback and testing through the tutorial and hear nothing back. No, ā€œhey you guys we did find the same thing that the dynamic kicking requires an overly finicky input!ā€ No, just silence, oh and of course bemusement at why we ask for a copy and paste of rugby league 26s method.

We aren’t all here wanting to bag this game, but it is made hard to not do so. It has to be realised that we all want to like playing it.

Maybe we get a patch today. Woman’s World Cup starts so make sense.

Then again nothing makes sense with this game.

a Patch today will be epic… but I doubt haven’t heard of @JNT_BA for a while now so hopefully next week we get a Massive Major Patch :crossed_fingers:

Next week we will get a big patch. Im sure @JNT_BA are aware we all unhappy with the pace we going. He did say no weekly updates ever again. Hope they know if they fail again. Im sure he will have to block the whole forum as hell will ve lose. But lets see

I find it absolutely impossible to follow the progress on the game with the ā€œred hot banterā€ around grip socks and stability

Can we have more separated threads @jnt to discuss the gameplay, modes, licenses etc rather than just 1 megathread?

Apologies if I’m being grumpy but I don’t think it helps at all

If we create an other thread for red hot banters, this actual one will most likely die as there is almost nothing to be discussed about during the three weeks wait…

Edit: gripsocks are not a joke, this is real, this is the most important missing thing in the game

Edit 2:
I wonder if there will be a similar R25 Event this evening for the kick off of WRWC at Stadium of Light, Sunderland :stuck_out_tongue:

I wonder if he knows that we don’t have it for R25 too :stuck_out_tongue:

If only someone had mentioned the player names being displayed on screen correctly earlier for Rugby 25, like in name plates in the bottom corners onscreen for the full match rather than disapeering, maybe through direct feedback hopeing to make a change, like brining it up on the FAQ page… or videos… or direct the BA guys. over 12 months of play time, if only someone caught it didnt work in R25 :person_facepalming:
If RL26 beat us to that, Ill side with @Valhalla_Vagabond that RL26 is the ship to be on without even playing it :joy:

If only a genius couldve thought of this innovative idea sooner. You know what, just for you Val, I might just mention it in the next update video.
Wildcard idea to build on it… WHAT IF not only the name plates for the opposition stayed on screen, BUT ASWELL AS THAT, they also displayed the players names, rather than their position on the field. I dont know if any rugby game has ever attempted this insane idea before, could be a world first, major USP for Rugby 25. :joy:
