Don’t make the same mistake I did going from playing to playing r25 feels like going from next gen game to a game 8 years back, even the cut scenes are way more exciting. Hopefully our boy JNT can save this game

I will definitely be doing that after the patch tomorrow lol. I am also buying CFB26 today as well so will probably be even more annoyed coming back to R25

I saw gameplay of RL 26. There more effort in that game as in rugby 25. We us rugby union fans are waiting 18 years just for a good game

Completely agree with everyone here. While there are some bugs and small issues with Rugby League 26, it’s still miles better on release than Rugby '25 is nearly half a year on from release.

I’m even down to little tiny things that I’m appreciating, like a decent punt downfield and the ability to actually push the try score button right on the try line and have it actually work and not need three presses before I run dead! That’s just two minor areas of functionality out of dozens where Rugby League generally… works.

How sad is it that I’m switching over to League for now, not for better features or something special it has in it’s modes, but basic functionality and basic representation of the real life game it’s supposed to be???

Swinton, I know a Norwegian lad that will be VERY happy this is in game lol.

When more tiers in Union coming to R25?

ALSO …

League has WAY more camera angles … IT HAS BROADCAST!!! at near and far as well!

How has this not been added into R25 after all this time already???

Everything in the control scheme seems to make more sense in R26 as well. It is completely different, but more logical? More effective and gives more opportunity for players to create plays off the cuff. If this was being carried into next gen with league why would rugby not adopt the same schematics when essentially both sports use the same pass structure of flat or out the back?

Rugby league 26 gives me so many more questions about Rugby 25

Pressure is on for BA now because we know the clunky and on rails feeling r25 have is not a engine problem, as rl26 feels really good yes it has its issues but seems a few patches away being good. I really hope JNT can give us something on par as rl26 and it will be nice to have similar UI aswell it just seems very clean

Agree, even the Logo creator is a little better, aside from some pointers not showing up from poor UI colouring etc. But some of the ways they have done things for QOL is better.

The Rugby 25 team could take a lot from the League 26 guys (If they are in fact not the same lol)

I am still perplexed by the fact that World Rugby does not endorse any rugby video games, as FIFA does. FIFA recognises the significance of the electronic format of the game and is committed to its expansion, particularly among younger audiences. Rugby 2008 was a significant event on college campuses in the United States from 2008 to 2015, and it introduced the sport to a country that had previously had minimal exposure to it. ESports has the potential to attract new audiences to the sport of rugby, given that the Rugby World Cup is being hosted by the United States in 2031. Just goes to demonstrate that the individuals in charge of World Rugby are not forward-thinking, which is why Rugby does not receive the appropriate level of exposure. Agustine Pichot has been a fervent proponent of the rugby game’s integration of esports and the enhancement of its video game offerings, contending that it is essential to expand the game and attract younger audiences. I concur with his assertion that World Rugby should establish a department that is dedicated to digital engagement. Therefore, I am optimistic that World Rugby will awaken and that Agustine Pichot will be the ideal candidate to advance this matter.

I wait to see the R25 patch of this friday before buying RL26 lol.

But it seems I will most likely give it a go to RL26.

We are doomed.
@JNT_BA please save us

Rugby League 26 is what you would have wanted Rugby 25 to be on release mate. A bit rough still. Some bugs and missing bits, but the core of the game when you select the right difficulty is pretty fun. The drag tackles work, the kick contests in the air work, the runners have set lines and you have a number of ways to pick them out or make your own plays. The kicking makes sense. The difficulties are actually different and you will lose games immediately if you pick too high a level for you straight off.

This is the halftime score of me playing on the equivalent of “Easy” in Rugby25. Second from Easiest lol. #whenrugby25difficulty.

There is a heap in there to be happy with and a heap still that needs adding or fixing. Mostly around the modes and creation etc.

So it is bitter sweet, on one hand I am really happy that this game will definitely be great and fun in the end, the foundation is solid enough. On the other hand, I wonder how they got Rugby 25 so wrong and why they did not just adapt a bunch of this stuff into it from the beginning.

Edit: If I was a league fan only who hadn’t seen Rugby25’s “Journey” though … I would probably be pretty angry at paying the money I have to get the RL26 game I have got right now. I do not think it is ok releasing games in this state. BUT … I do know after TieBreak (Great game) and Rugby25 (Pants game) that things can change so … :crossed_fingers: lol

Im not sure excited is the right word.

Im slightly intrigued to see if any meaningful improvements to gameplay are implemented

The tackle area of the game in league is so much better! There is a real drive contest at impact point which gives varied outcomes on whether you push through a tackle, get stopped or in some cases pushed back. Multiple tacklers in any scenario possible all with seemingly meaningful impacts on the tackle.

All the varied tackle breaks work yet are not over powered. Offloads in contact are no where near as easy but definitely doable and you can see the opportunities clearly when the carrier has his hands free or not.

Contact area at the try line works, you get held up or the put down is right AND the bunker works.

Please … just copy paste all the tackling and drive contest into Rugby25. It would allow for simulated forward play. Copy and paste the kicking, copy and paste the in goal events. Copy and paste the contested kicks, the penalties for high tackles, the knock ons and actual pull back if no advantage lol. Basically, just replace R25 with R26 code minus the sets

Do not listen to all those sausages that moaned about League code in this game lol. It is actually exactly what Rugby 25 needs to save it, or at least emulate the code.

Like Joespeh Auali’i said … “Footy is footy”. So if the code fits, use it :folded_hands:

Next minute we see 6 tackles in R25 :skull_and_crossbones:

Edit: Also just a side thought, but the right stick tackle (Drag tackle) gives the tackler the ability to hold down the ball carrier. Tactically it really helps slow the pace of the opponents ruck ball down, if you hold on TOO LONG though you get penalised. This would be a perfect adaption to the tackle scenario in union for not rolling away or not releasing the tackler in the break down. No idea of course how hard that would be to just throw in there lol

Rugby rl 26 has be a pro mode but rugby 25 not. Rugby 25 gets boring very fast

Feels to me the game is stil in EA

Most frustrating part is theyve added bits of rll to r25 that negatively affects the gameplay but havent added the bits that wouldve helped improve the game.

Like visible running lines that allow you to execute set plays and manipulate defenders.

So frustrating watching all the attackers running lines as soon as the ball is passed out of the ruck in rll26 and comparing it to r25 where only the player receiving the pass runs a line and everyone else is totally static

The changes of direction when players run look much better in rl26, as well as the fend, you really need to adapt this to rugby 25, in rugby 25, when you are 1 on 1 you cannot dodge your opponent. You can only hit him or play with your feet whereas in rl26 you can outrun him by running

Just realize in RL26 time off day changes when playing in the evening by end of the game it’s night time, R25 seems more and more was just there to iron some bugs and test the engine for r26

Seeing how well ‘Rugby League 26’ turned out, I hope tomorrow’s update is the beginning of making ‘Rugby 25’ into what it truly should be. I feel ripped off when I compare one game to the other Rugby 25 should never have been released at full price. I still have hope they’ll fix the game.
