Could maybe make scrums a button mash, I’ve never understood why games make it a “wave” type ordeal
Scrums are constant pressure
Could also make it heavily influenced by front rows “scrummaging stat”
@JNT_BA think you guys need to go listen to this podcast. Game feel and game play is everyting in a game, can have all the bells and whistles, but if it doesn’t play well the user will get frustrated and quit.Unsupported browser
That’s the version I was on last night - still bugs, but the game play was better than initial release.
To be clear, you’re suggesting that a group of professional game developers, who have made several games, listen to an entry level podcast that’s been created using Google’s AI podcast generator and makes consistent reference to Unity, an engine I’m pretty sure the team aren’t using?
Don’t know answers to your questions as a mere player of the game, but i do agree with all of your thoughts and highlighted points. Plenty of room for improvement but the base is there. Fingers crossed Big Ant are able to consider the feedback so far and action it to make it a better game soon - fans and gamers will likely lose patience if action isn’t taken. Just hope that those who play now don’t get totally put off and don’t wait for the updates to play it in a few weeks time - that would be a real shame.
Hi how r u im good i have a question in Rugby 25 Logo creator can u transfer from PC to console in the future
Another Patch coming tomorrow.
Would be nice if we can actually get patch notes.
Sliders are huge, completely changed my Rugby challenge 3. Sliders are a must , some like games more arcadey others more simulation sliders will help with this, and you satisfy more customers. I say the more sliders the better.
After playing multiple online games, considering the AI is not fun to play against, I have some feedback. Surprisingly, I am more positive about the game after playing online, despite the obvious issues I will detail about gameplay, the game does feel more like rugby against a real opponent. So I have some overall feedback and will try not to regurgitate the same points as above.
- Gameplay:
- Kicking should have a slow motion mechanic, or at least soemthing similar to allow us to kick effectively.
- Defending - I think the player switching needs to be improved or reworked. The game is an inherently physical game, therefore players should not be able to run through players even if they are not being controlled (because player switching is not quick enough) so maybe there should be a mechanic to make some sort of tackle and autoswitch immediately to complete it.
- Passing - This has been touched on enough, I think the button selection mechanism is poor and would be better used if you could trigger runs with it, same idea but I think more functional then just passing directly to that player.
- Positioning - The outhalf enters the ruck so frequently it is hard to actually use them as a playmaker, this should be improved to have some logic that the forward enters above the outhalf and the outhalf only enters when there is no other support. Also, wingers should stay wider.
- Online - As I said, this mode changed my opinion on the game. However, with all the problems above, it will be tough to retain a playerbase. I think there should be an emphasis on online play and bring in a ‘Seasons’ competitive mode. For the current mode, please shorten the match times or remove replays, online games take too long as it is and will just lead to people quitting at half time constantly. You also can not make substitutes in the online mode.
Overall, I think with the licensing and player models, there is hope and similarly, playing online was the closest this game has felt like rugby yet but without improving responsiveness (passing, tackling), online modes and overall gameplay, I feel we may lose out on an active online playerbase.
Been said multiple times, but the passing is absolutely the main fix needed, until you have union style passing this game will never play well . I honestly can’t understand how anybody on the team played this and thought yes that passing is accurate to the sport the game is trying to replicate. I just did a match on rugby challenge and the ai just absolutely did me with a break from there own half utilizing wingers and the final winger fended one of my tacklers and sidestepped the last one and try in the corner… Get the passing looking/ playing Ike union then build on improving other areas, at least then the game will resemble the sport it’s supposed to replicate because currently it’s nothing like it at all…
Totally agree!! The feedback on this forum is really great and the devs can take that into account for the future, because it will probably take some time to implement. The passing should be nr.1 priority, because majority of the frustration, negativity and unplayability comes from this. I’m no expert but it should be easier to fix than the other mentioned issues. Let’s hope that within the next few patches we get some vast improvements in this category.
Changing players - when ball drops on ground, players around ball can’t be selected and are non responsive. Also selecting players on defense, choosing closest player doesn’t always work.
Penalty kicks - if you get a penalty in own half, you can choose kick at goal and can move the ball until 50m line.
Hi Big Ant. One for the presentation/art team
An easy win for more atmosphere in matches would be flags in the crowd of the teams playing, or slogans. Additionally advertising in stadiums, currently they feel empty.
Also with regards to weather, floodlights and rain interacting with eachother to create that white effect you see on rainy days. Currently it just feels like a few drops showing on the screen without any real affect on gameplay or atmosphere. I know its from 19yrs ago, but Rugby 06 captured the cold with steam coming off players etc really well. Cold games felt cold, rainy games felt wet, and the stadiums felt more alive.
Pitch condition could do with some variety, different shades, patterns, degredation and field markings too. I hope this is helpful info, really wanting this to be successful in the coming updates!
Oh and also the haka, has that been mo-capped? ![]()
10000% agree said this in feedback like last year etc hell even Cricket has more than this atm ![]()
The graphics of the game are perfect, but if you play with match difficulty at easy it is as if you are playing hard, at rucks the ball is constantly stolen, it should be much easier to win the ball as you only play at easy, at scrums you never win the ball, pushing to gain ground is impossible, giving a drop goal is the hardest of all the rugby games I have played. Make rucks, scrums and drop goals the same as in rugby 22 or at least make the match difficulty easy so that it is really easy not hard. Match difficulty on easy is the hardest difficulty on easy that I have played on a sports simulator.
So I decided to do the rest of the updates on the xbox version… BigAnt… why are all my matches now pink ![]()

The rest of the game is completely fine. Even the pause menu colours are all correct. But as soon as you jump in to a match, the screen gains a complete pink hew on it. Even in Replay mode.
*EDIT
I scored a try… and now one corner gained some correct colour? Have I discovered a secret game mode where the more points you score, the more the screen corrects itself?
50-22 dont count, each forward is my kicker, i literally have the ball in hand and get penalised for being offside, i kick for touch clearly makes it into touch and the commetator says its a terrible kick and that i never found touch, my fend doesnt work, players losing speed as they run, the list goes on, $50 for this garbage on release, cmon guys
I haven’t been able to play at Alianz Stadium since launch because its blue lmao
As a reminder to all - any posts that are deleted/edited are only a result of that post breaching the community guidelines, something everyone here agrees to, before joining the forum.
Several posts in this forum may be considered a breach of these guidelines but have remained up because while they’ve been critical, they’ve at least been fair and reasonably worded.
Being argumentative is not the same as being constructive. The more time that is spent here ensuring that these guidelines are being followed - is time taken away from responding to Support tickets & logging them with the team. This means we don’t have time to share things like Extended Patch notes and details on the team’s upcoming plans for patches.
Please explain how some people posting on a forum. Takes away from your ability to release extended patch notes and from communicating with your customers. Just so we are clear this is not me being argumentative it is a genuine question because this seems like it is just a very crap excuse
Also constructive criticism may come across as argumentative to you but to others (especially the customers) it is just being critical of a game that let’s face it is currently well below par from what should be expected. This should not result in posts being removed because of a rightfully critical/angry tone being used to convey their emotions about a product that they have spent cold hard cash on.
