Just played a quick game on PS5 after the latest patch (v1.0.2494 for all the numbers heads out there). Leinster V Munster, medium difficulty. I found it to be much better and actually had a competitive game. Hereās what I observed.

Won a decent amount of rucks but just hammering the circle button until I got a push over. No skill to this but itās better than what it was. Iāve noted that at rucks, youāre still in control of the tackler even when the ruck has been formed. I feel like this shouldnāt be the case, and control should shift from the tackler to the rucking players (think of it as controlling the team) and the tacklerās AI should roll away as per the the laws of the game and rejoin the defensive line. Not sure how this would affect jackling though.

Passing was still pretty unreliable, I feel like I need to spend more time with it though.

Zero knock ons or offsides for either side in the game. Nothing erroneous but also pretty lifeless if you consider a real game of rugby. I got pinged for 3 high tackles, not sure what determines a tackle as being high?

Opposition AI threw in a few box kicks which is more variety from simply pass to first receiver in attack. Iāve mentioned before, but it would be really beneficial to have a graphical cue as to where the ball is likely to land for opposition kicks.

Donāt seem to be able to find that out on my system now itās installed, sorry there fella.
Just spent an hour playing after latest patch
Penalty kicker is now the correct player
Maul from lineout kind of works
Wingers still being outrun by a prop 
Kick to touch not worth it most kicks are charged down
Scrum ā¦useless always ends in a penalty
Limeouts cannot be won by defending team
So after 5 days little improvement
I wonder if they actually play the game before they send it out.
If you score points after 40 minutes in the first half, it doesnāt show when the second half starts?
Can anyone advise how i make subs online as theres no team management option on pause menuā¦
I know it has already been mentioned before, but man, those transfers (in and out) for Leinster in the same single season ā¦ Killing the realism

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! After todayās update I can actually play the game and Iām seeing glimpses of Rugby 08!! I can finally contest in rucks and score tries!! This game and its potential is awesome!! But yes Iām already having a lot of fun with it!! One very happy South African here

Hi all,
Although the guys at Big Ant must be sick of hearing comparisons to Rugby 08, Iāve re played it and I think there are a lot of things about that game that can work in Rugby 25.
To start with passing, I think it is much more responsive. Players pass right after you press the passing button, and I believe that is very much needed in this game (if you are too close to the defender, the tackle animation kind of kicks in and thereās no way youāll make a last second pass).
Also, players are not very well positioned to use the ball outside. They are too flat from mauls or rucks, so it is imposible to make more than 2 passes before the defence closes up. On the other hand, when you make a break through the defence, the players on support are too deep behind making it hard to win a 2 vs 1 situation. Kind of works the other way round of how it should be, and this is something they got right in rugby 08.
Another feature that other sports games have implemented is being able to control a player before the ball gets to them. Once it leaves the previous player, you inmediately start controlling the recieving player so you can change direction or running line before getting the ball, attacking the defender weak shoulder.
And please, please, please, add set plays. I really miss being able to put the kicker in the pocket to have at least half a second to kick where I want!
We need very badly a sign that hints where a flying ball is going to land. A little cross on the grass is more than enough and sure makes a difference.
Also there are a few things that make the atmosphere so much more inmersive. Waving flags, movement in the stands (they look so much more alive in rugby 08 and they are made of cardboard!); photographers, press, ball boys and medical staff around the pitch makes everything look closer to reality as well. Flames are cool but not enough.
There are 498 messages before mine that have said all already, but i wanted to share my thoughts and hope they help getting the game where we all want it to be.
Many more rugby fans will get on board if you guys fix all this.

When your create players the heights are wrong I created a 6ā9 lock and heās the same height as my first five and also when players of the season are announced the team is all scrambled and the positions are wrong and are gonna be able to edit rosters and players

I feel like the diving needs to be dialled back a bit and an animation where they just place the ball or fall over needs to be brought it, ox nche 1m from the line with no one around would not be going for an extreme aerial assault on the line

Haha I was gonna bring this up too! There are 4 buttons to place the ball, and all of them are dives!? Make one of them a simple place, maybe one of them could be like a slide?
I do also have some thoughts after having a bit of time getting to grips with it.
The game is deffo getting better, and I think understanding the mechanics a bit more helps too (still no idea what Iām doing once I hook the ball on scrums).
My thoughts are pretty much going to echo whatās already been said but I guess the more feedback the better?

passing and support runs need to be tweaked, passing is very slow to react (the offload button very rarely works), but the real reason you canāt get more than 2 passes together is because the players just come up in a flat line, and then similarly when you break through the line, no one makes support plays.

with that in mind I think there must be a way to fix players in position a bit more, I get that wingers and full backs might join rucks but my second rows and flankers are CONSTANTLY in the centre and wing positions, outside halfās barely touch the ball in the games Iāve played so far.

running mechanics are sketchy, even players with a sprint speed of 40-50 are able to skin most wingers, scored a 30yard dash with Joe Marler yday, that would kill him in real life! Someone also proposed a slider mechanism? Great shout as the game does feel a bit fast and chaotic with everyone constantly running around at full pace, be good to be able to slow it down a lil (these sliders are possible as they were a feature in cricket 24)

the cpu seems to have the same tendencies in every game, the all blacks play very differently to South Africa so I feel this would be cool, I know this is not necessarily that doable as itās not really a feature in big games like FIFA or NBA 2k either.

rucking needs looking at, feels very league/arcadey but enough has been said about that, and I think once u get the mechanics of it a bit more itās less frustrating, this might just be that Iām an ex back so donāt really understand what all the forwards are doing anyway!

as I said earlier, there should be an option to just place the ball for a try rather than doing a Van Der Merwe finish every time.

That would be it for feedback, I think the game IS getting better, but thereās a lot of improvement needed, the licensing and game options are insanely good! Like they do rival that of a EA sports or 2K but I play ONLY sports games and every sport has a game with rock solid gameplay, so I donāt think thereās a reason the gameplay on this canāt match the gameplay of the big boys (itās the best sport after all!)
I do have general queryās if anyone knows the answers.

do we know if you are going to be able to edit/add oficial players to official teams? Wanna add a lot of players to the wales team, and there are loads of others that are missing players, also be fun to mix up squads a bit (wanna see Kini Naholo play for NZ).

will we be able to edit official players? There are official players available in community so Iām assuming thatās because ppl edited and shared them during ea? Will this feature be coming back? Itās bugging me that Liam Williams is rated 90 and Faletau is rated something like 82!

Just got the game . This game is really poor ! AI only knows how to pass the ball to one player each time . Doesnāt matter how much effort you put into player photogrammetry the gameplay need to be what stands out and sadly now its bad . I played two games and decided to stop playing this terrible game . You had all this delayed time to fix the game and you come up with this . Its really bad , actually a joke towards rugby . You guys need a rugby challenge system with all this content
Right now? Whatās the actual point? 
It doesnāt matter who you have in your team - all the players are the same. There is no discernible difference between have a prop at inside center and a fly half in the second row.
And even if you could decide to call players upā¦ they are just gonna be standing on the field looking at the AI doing one pass inside over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again, with you finishing the game on 8% possession.
They must fix the important stuff first before even contemplating the fun stuff like this.
