I will delete whatever I want. You see what’s coming out. I dont work on anyone’s timeline. Simple as that. I gave you guys waaaaay more space for a long while way more than the other areas of the forum. I left some pretty bad things up that would be deleted elsewhere.

Oh and any hint you can share regarding the new season in Northern Hemisphere ? Do you think the career will be updated with the new calendar etc?

And regarding Pro Team, do you think we could get it in 2025, or will it maybe be more for 2026 ? Man if it is 2026 it will have an impact on GTA 6 sales, you should release it on 2025 to let a chance to Rockstar to survive

It’s a possibility. I really need to check in on things with the leagues. I have a whole bunch of kits being worked on for different leagues. Lots of roster updates. Fixtures aren’t super hard to change.. for some comps.

And maybe regarding the possibility to swap licensed players in other clubs directly ? Is it still a possibility or most likely it won’t be possible ?

This kind of thing is all too common still, unfortunately.

Hey @JNT_BA wanted to understand if anything of this that was discussed before the last patch will be addressed in next week’s patch:

  1. Whether the intense high tackle/close line tackle will result in an immediate card or not
  2. Whether offload ping pong where the AI are able to chuck ridiculous non realistic offloads 10m+ out the back of the hand have been toned down.
  3. Better balance to fending mainly on the AI side. I think the balance on the human side is better however on the AI side they still have an ability to break far too many tackles. The last patch definitely improved this as I can see the AI use fends (except a game I played today, France v Australia where Aus as AI didn’t fend only bumped and side stepped) and bump offs and I don’t see quite so many missed tackles in the stats compared to tackles
  4. The changes you mentioned a few weeks back on side steps in regard to momentum being better applied and just a generally better step

Separately from these points there’s been a few questions regarding kick distances. Is something planned to address this. At the moment elite punters can’t kick more than about 45m, you can kick a conversion from any distance no matter the kicker and the distance you can kick a goal-line drop out is about 10m further than a kick off even though they are the same type of kick. At the moment feels like skills has no effect on these things and they are all just standard distances

N.B. Noticed a new bug where bump offs that I make are not counting as missed tackles against the AI in the stats screen. If the AI break my tackle with bump offs it does count.

Had the exact same experience yesterday. One of the more enjoyable games and my player stopped 5m from the line. Just quit the game

So AI plays are a little weird. So I know some of you have noticed that some things will happen quite regularly, and I’ve seen some videos where the CC will literally be like, “Oh, they then will pass it back inside”

While yeah, it is intended, it’s not “intended”. So the field is broken up into about 16 quadrants, from try zone to try zone. Then, several plays in each quadrant can be used by the AI. Some are shared, some are unique.

Say the AI is on your 20, then you enter a formation, ruck, scrum, maul, etc. The AI will then filter down to the plays that have been assigned to that area then will choose one it thinks will be best, or sometimes random.

Now, a while ago, when going through the plays, a whole bunch of them were just… weird. These were the ones where they would do one pass and then be like, I’ll run forward cause stage two can’t be played cause of an incorrect allocation. So we threw all the ones that didn’t play out or were pretty much identical. This was also the patch where some people were like “oh, the performance was better” cause the plays were filtering really inefficiently, so some frame drops were because the AI couldn’t decide which of the 300 to 70 to 10 to 1 plays they wanted to do.

Around June, we started increasing what could be done, as when I reviewed, some zones had barely any options, which led to the same thing over and over. So we increased them, and we also removed a bunch of plays that were designed by someone who was a little more of a league fan than a union fan. This is also why the AI wouldn’t really try to make 50:22’s. We sat down and went ok, let’s make some Rugby plays to fill some in. Then we started working on more and more, so more have been made this month as well. Some of them play quite nicely. So some more unusual ones may be removed, some updates and new ones will be added.

That’s really good to know (the league fan designing plays) and explains alot as to why the AI refused to kick the ball in the most obvious circumstances.

Kicking is such an integral part of union, especially at professional level, that it felt crazy when the AI was running multiple phases on its own goal line. I hope that a wide variety of kicking plays are implemented throughout all areas of the pitch to keep us guessing.

Regarding plays for the player, will it be possible to select manually the same plays the AI is using, better change the positioning of our players aswell depending of the zone etc?
