@JNT_BA can we please get an update on the wrwc. It ended almost a month ago and it’s not in the game yet.

And if we can also have an update regarding RWC23 or any Custom Mens RWC format (RWC23 is I recall in the career but not in the Competition/Custom Competitions), that would be good.

As a reminder, RWC23 ended almost 2 years ago. #FreeRedHotBanters

As there are teams dedicated to gameplay and other dedicated to art/other subject, that might not require that much effort I guess? Maybe if Kelvin spend less time on Cricket ?

If not, I will take it as BA hates union but loves League, Tennis and Cricket.

That said, Quand Tiebreak 2 and Quand Cricket 28?

@JNT_BA can the team also have a look at Career mode, the Objectives does not register. (PC)

Do you think we will have some good news in the upcoming days for R25 ? (Gameplay, Content, squad updates, art…?) Or should I play chess ?

I think that a new Competition will be coming very soon, while also being very late…

    (Also there is a bug where if the player selected is not the one in the ruck, the one selected plays the jackal animation… not knowing if that prevents the jackal i always try to select the player in the ruck)

I agree with what you say 100% the rucks are beginning to feel right , we just need more isolated jackle/combined with the AI holding the ball penalty, and allow us to hold on with risk of penalty if we get isolated. Also we are about a year in and no one still knows,:

Should we be tapping x to steal or holding x to steal, or is it based on timing like in wrestling game reversals. Do the rucking graphs/meter help you determine when to make the steal, what triggers the the later counter ruck pushover, sometimes if feels like I have a better chance at if I hold the steal button. These things have never been explained and its been like a year, I know the rucks are not done getting updates, but we should get some basic instructions. In my opinion , it would be great to have two different actions for the quick steal, and the later counter ruck push over, to seperate buttons presses , or tap button for quick steal attempt, hold the button for a counter ruck pushover attempt at the right time on the rucking meter.

And please fix the super slow-mo side step.

I am enjoying the game more and more, but these items above must be addressed to continue to improve this game.

If helps anyone I think I’ve figured out the ruck.

I noticed I had a player once selected close to the ruck (but not in it), and I was mashing Square and watching the player doing a funny little arm movement (ie. Jackal) every time I hit button.

just tested then - hit O as many times as you want/need to commit, select one of the players in the ruck (unsure if selecting first player, any player, or player with highest skill is best) and Mash Square - voila, ruck turnovers/jackals.

would be great to get penalties added for trying to Jackal once ruck is formed after a few seconds

In one match, I was warned for not releasing. Don’t know if I would have been penalised though, as I released immediately!

After recent updates I have found the gameplay far more enjoyable.

the rucks feel better, although, as many people have said could still be refined to allow penalty opportunities for holding on or hands in the ruck - referee guiding players with comms. Isolated players can be stripped of the ball quicker etc, I’m still getting tonics before opposition and smashing the turnover button for a second or two before their support arrives and not getting turnover, but I am winning turnover when they have 2/3 in the ruck - so still not realistic enough, but it has improved a lot.

Kicking feels better - although world renowned kickers like Thomas from France etc should be able to kick way further upfield - comfortablY from their 22 to opposition 22, but the animation and feel of kicking is vast improved.

Struggling with scrums again - I had only just got good at them before the update and not it’s changed and still finding it difficult to win scrums. I’ll need more practise on the updated version of the scrums.

I’d still like to see a bit more shape. Perhaps from a ruck the same button should be filled by players - example - holding L1 or R1 and tapping ā€˜X’ depending on the side of attack always passes to your 10 or playmaker and tapping ā€˜square’ or something always passes to the lead of your forward pod. When the ball hits your forward pod you can then do them same - hold L1 or R1 and tap ā€˜x’ to pass to 10/playmaker out of the back of the forward pod? I think if the 10/playmaker was always the same button combination then it would make it easier. Would be good to see pod of 3 forwards - 10 in behind, a forward or 2 running off 10 and then the remaining backline holding depth to attack. Maybe can add in team tactics like rugby22 to pre set your team to attack off 9/10 with pods - wide or narrow. It feels hard trying to do this in game as you go but could be good to able to set this before the game starts.

God that RWC branding looks good in game. Glad to see it finally make its way in, can only imagine how much of a nightmare it’s been for you guys getting all the necessary sign offs to put it out at last.

@JNT_BA any update on when the player names issue will be fixed?
I do believe this is a bug as both teams’ player names show onscreen, until ball possession is turned, then suddenly only the player and not the AI for the remainder of the game has the names.

Surely something this small can be fixed? We’re not talking about displaying the correct names which is also not 100%< but the fact that the names stay up onscreen throughout an actual game..

Yes, this is true. The strange thing is that sometimes I try to hold on when isolated but the opposition forwards steal the ball anyway! This needs to be corrected.

Yes something like that, but it seems there is more to it. It seems the rucking meter does play a part on when to try the pushover. But it seems there are variations, sometimes you can get a passive looking turnover with just adding 2-3 players if the timing is correct. Although it has worked both ways tapping steal/jackal and holding jackal/steal although it feels like later in the ruck if your rucking meter is considerably dominate, you can do a counter ruck pushover, if they delay getting the ball out, (I have achieved this by holding the steal while adding players to the ruck). There are variations at the ruck and they are getting better and better (I have said it before) If they can sort out the tackle/stand/jakal on the isolated player, with the tackler being able to steal the ball or force the offense to hold for a penalty, and include hands in ther ruck (risk vs reward) this can be the best rucking system to date, if they can add those things and the rare comming from the side, maybe by over committing to many to quick the ruck (again risk vs reward) risk(comming in from the side) reward (counter ruck pushover). I still think if they can sperate the steal/jackle from the counter ruck by making the tap x for the steal hold x for counter ruck, it would be a great addition, choices at the ruck is what makes rucks fun. Sometimes it feels like it does play that way. But since the exact system has not been explained to us, we can’t know for sure.

In any case the rucks are good (especially) now thar people are realizing they dont have to throw 4-5 players in to the ruck every time, it actually works against you, if you try to work the rucks like real rugby it plays out fairly good, it just has a few missing pieces for it to be one of the best if not the best rucking systems yet. More POD control settings , will be a nice addition as well. But it does feel like I have better support out wide when selecting going out wide formation, more chance of maintaining possession out wide if I chose the wide formation, the forwards seem to engage faster in the rucking helping to keep possession. And vice a versa, if I want to drive down the middle the other settings are better then wide formation. Makeing these changes on the fly make for great ruck strategy and fun.
