the most frustrating part is the AI who cant offload, one pass and crash ball. please fix this, not realistic at all.

The more I play, the more this becomes the most frustrating thing. Everytime the AI gets the ball, it is doing the same thing.

AI keeps passing one inside and that is it. I wonder if BA are working on changing this.

I’m playing on Xbox and have noticed this improving, they usually do go in side crash ball, but they do also sometimes do a wide flat pass (which I haven’t even figured out how to do, it’s always deep) and yesterday in a couple of games they made two passes before being tackled!

But the issue of when u break the line having no support really needs to be sorted, if a lock breaks the line, a winger should be able to keep pace with him!

I am quite liking the kicking for territory element in the game. I think a couple of things need to be worked on to really improve this element though.

  • Kicker being in the pocket. Right now, we don’t have a defined kicking (normally fly half) in the pocket. And quite often, whoever is passed to runs on to the ball, thus getting closer to defenders and allowing the kick to bounce off a defenders head.
  • When the opposition reclaims the ball after the kick (often in their own 22), the rucking system is broken and this affects challenging for the ball. I addressed the rucks in my earlier Rucks Deep Dive post in this thread.

Also, a charge-down animation for the defense would be cool on kicks.

Yeh so have noticed that often a player drops into the pocket, and tbf it’s normally my fly half or center, but they’re always in the pocket behind one or two forwards so when I select to pass to them, the forwards basically intercept it, I mean this is still fairly realistic…forwards do get in the way sometimes but could be fixed

I wish for the try scorers it didn’t say age, maybe something like competition points, season tries or something on career mode
And it just tells you how many tried they’ve scored this season or something more interesting than age and minutes played lol

And also, that weird sideways dive they do 90% of the time. That should either be reserved only for the corners, or even better - gotten rid of.

You have 4 buttons for scoring a try, I don’t know why ALL of them are Josh Lewsey style dives, have A/X be place the ball, have B/O be to slide, X/:black_square_button: be a corner style dive and Y/:small_red_triangle: be a normal dive or jump, doesn’t seem mad complicated and we know the animations are already doable coz they do a variation of all of them except the place (which again, just the opposite of picking up the ball so know it can be done)

Would love for there to be a way to drop the 10 into the pocket so can kick for territory would like to see implemented that the ai team would use there bench and set plays as others have mentioned would be nice, and i can guess that this might be in coming but for ai teams to replace injured players and if there is an injured player it affects their speed and response, another note teams kicking for touch everytime there is a penalty that is evidently kick able

There is a formation change available to select, it think it is click on left or right trigger and formation options come up, and with the directional pad you select the formation you want, just not sure if has been implemented yet, so it seems like they are wanting to add on the fly formation change.

Yeh noticed you can do this with defence and pack formation yday too so hopefully this is something being implemented soon!

@JNT_BA just seen Ross has posted there will be another update tomorrow night and mentioned the passing in particular can we confirm if this be applied to the AI aswell?

Also want say it’s great to see how many updates yous are doing quickly to get the game where it should be hopefully this update will take us another step further to being a great game

I agree and encourage everyone here to try it so we have an active playerbase. While some online players will abuse mechanics (running sideways) and some mechanics are OP like fend off, when playing against other players who actually seem to know Rugby you can have a really good contest. Still I think player switching, tackling, substitutions and online game modes needs to be further teased out and developed, but in the majority the online mode gives me some hope. Last night, I played a game and scored a try in the last minute in the corner with the kick to win, it was exhilerating. Developing some sort of competitive online mode along with the passing/defending/positioning fixes the game desperately needs could result in a really enjoyable experience!

Is anyone experiencing crashing upon completing a My Career season in the grand final? I am able to play the full 80 minutes, and when I lose/win it gets to a team about to lift the cup/shield (I did it on MLR) and the game crashes. I have played it out without skipping the cut scenes and it still crashes.

Hi i have rugby 25 on the ps5 and have it on easiest level, but i find any game i play to be unwinnable, is there any advice
