I play both frequently, it had more depth than 08.
But i agree, doesnt mean its good. But its the best i have seen.

Totally agree with all you put forward. Should they let us set your own custom leagues on the career mode, the game would be endlessly fun.
They had this Feature in RLL4. You could change every league with your own one assuming those costum comp had the exact number of teams
Is there a way to get a refund? Honestly the game is unplayable and not a game that should be available to purchase.
Being called for being offside when you have the ball like come onā¦
First of all I would like to thank you guys for such a great effort, the game looks astonishing, has nice menus, soundtracks, graphics and the cherry on top, all those licenses and teams!
To improve it even further, I would change the way the rucks are contested, it doesnāt feel like Iām actually fighting for possession, some fixing on the ārestartā is also needed as players spawn from a single point before conversions and so forth.
There are some bugs when trying to substitute players as well.
I would also like to ask you guys to let us get offers to coach other teams in career mode, getting fired due to low performance, generic Continental club cups (asian Champions cup, super rugby Americas) and a generic world club Cup as well, just to ensure all the leagues keep interesting.
Good afternoon everyone, Die hard rugby fan here. Just thought Iād give my 2 cents on Rugby 25 so far
Positives :
Work ons :
Suggested features :
Overall there is definitely more work to be done to make rugby 25 a great game but that being said there is just as much features to be excited about and from what I can see the devs does seem to listen to the feedback from the community⦠Hopefully we get a roadmap soon on future plans/updates.
Lastly in my opinion any new rugby game will always have the disadvantage of competing with the nostalgia of rugby 08 and Jonah Lomu rugby.
Once rugby 25 is eventually polished I canāt wait to see what they can cook up for us with a 2nd installment after a few years ( maybe next world cup? )
Graphics, look, sound and feel - all great and youāve done an amazing job.
Gameplay - dont know whats happened here. It feels almost unplayable. From passing out of the ruck(which sometimes doesnt work) to the ruck mechanics - there needs to be a lot of work. There are quite a few elements missing that prevent the game from flowing nicely. Please keep striving to make it better and actually playable. Forget about the graphics, captures and little menu features - focus in on just gameplay as this is where the game feels like its lacking the most
Just one thing to add on Career mode - salary caps. Premiership Rugby use them and as we know, teams have been punished for breaking the cap in the past. Definitely something worth exploring.
When Gripsocks, Trees, and Retractable roofs ? ![]()
I agree with everything on here except number 5. I do think there could be a good hidden system in the rucking. In one of the updates , not sure which one but I believe it was in the first 3 updates, the rucks were playing ok, like there was a good system hidden in there. It was something different than previous games, almost like, if you turned into the incoming rucking player after the tackle and you pressed contest tackle you had a better chance at winning the ruck in the right circumstance. It felt engaging. After that update it felt like we were headed in the right direction with the rucks, but then it went in the other direction. So weird. A three button rucking system could work well if you had the possibility to add 1-5 players and you implemented a good jackal system when isolated, with risk and reward system for hands in the ruck grey area were a penalty could be called.
The games just unplayable and it sucks bc it has heaps of potential. Simple things like the PASSING and RUCKS donāt work. Two things that make a rugby game. Even with the FENDING AND BUMPOFFS only the ai can preform it. Whatās the point of having it in the game if it canāt be used by us. I spent $100 for a game that doesnāt work.
My intention is to not come across disrespectful but I think you should ditch the gameplay engine you are using and just build upon the RWC 2011 game engine for rugby 27. That game came out 14 years ago on the ps3 and is much more fluid. Itās hard to understand why as technology now is more advanced, how are rugby games going backwards?
This game needs more updates. Passing feels like youāre playing with players rated below 40. Iām a Bok fan but was disappointed to see thereās no Haka. Kicking lacks power. Certain players have incorrect positions. Like Feinberg-Mngomezulu, it should be Fly half, Full back & Centre but instead itās Fly half, SCRUM HALF & Fly half(again). You canāt add players to a roster. Tried adding Damian Willemse to the Boks via manage roster, when you filter for him by name or even club, nothing comes up. Please update this, as it makes the game feel like it shouldnāt have been released yet.
I think the game does show big potential, but needs a lot more work. I have some suggestions for the competitions and the competition creator:
Good news: Game now launches on Steam Deck after whatever updates were done this morning.
The amount of licenses is amazing (even if there are a few noticable ones missing)
Game looks good graphically
Bad news: Game is a mess to play at the moment. Iād really just echo a lot of what has been said already
Rucks need work, particular issues around offsides
Passing is the biggest issue for me. Still just so floaty, support lines are awful, passes being fired into to touch
Goal kicking is so unpredictable, I feel like Iām doing the same thing every time but sometimes I nail the kick, and more often they are under hit. Donāt know what Iām doing wrong.
Iāve never really understood or enjoyed scrums all the way through EA, Iāve mentioned it a few times (although maybe thatās me problem)
Bought this morning on PS5 physical, installed and updated.
Have tried to play 3 matches now and ALL have crashed the game mid-match.
Before you even get into the shambles of the gameplay, there is absolutely no way they didnāt know about these game crashes and went ahead and released it anyway. And if they didnāt know, their QA should be fired immediately.
Disgraceful.
Mate itās disgraceful , Iāve had the same issue since last night , raised a ticket and heard nothing . They have released a bin fire . If you donāt install the update the game plays fine. So something in their patch is crashing the system which is unforgivable.
We all understand things arenāt working right but why all the negativity. Big Ant has proven they support their games post release. Look at TieBreak as a perfect example. Yeah you have a right to complain and get a refund but this is the most ambitious Rugby game since at least Rugby 08. Iām seeing what I paid as an investment in the game we all have wanted.
It is very important though for the developers to give as much info on what is being addressed and to stay engaged with the community. If some more respect is given, then it is more likely they will communicate with us.
On that note, a sticky with all the recent patch notes and updates would go a long way to keep people that have invested fully informed.
The patch notes are utter nonsense.
āImproved Stabilityā being a highlight.
Theyāre just making bullet points up.
Umm, I stated clearly anyone has the right to complain in my post. Itās not real constructive though to be insulting. A lot on this board have directly stated what is wrong and what they would like to see fixed.
Improved Stability I would think is important due to the high number of crashes reported.
