I only did a half recently on Pro .. but it seemed to be easier than Amateur? Maybe worth a check out.
Played my first online game tonight. Went okay, thing was my attackers kept running ten yards upfield so I was left with no pass option A LOT. is that common?? I thought, might be latency but the game was a stable 25ms so I donāt think itās that. Never happened in the few offline games I played. Secondly, how are we meant to make subs?? Surely canāt be pausing when the game doesnāt pause for both teams?? Ended up having to run the starting 13 all game because I couldnāt pause to make the subs. Thought it might be d pad but that just seemed to control tactics
The thing that bugs me a lot is the stupid āpass it pass it pass itā chant like how does that make any sense whatsoever, do these people even know rugby league?
Grubber kicks, grubber kicks, grubber kicks.
Come on now?
Huge part of league play , they are terribly weak. Enjoying the game some, but the lack of being able to use long grubbers as weapon is disappointing. Please fix the grubber power, particularly by skilled players.
They need to go much further, and your kicking player should not be able to over run your own grubber, particularly when kicking it with power.
On a positive note, liking the fends and hit upās and offloads, although offloads need more receiving player momentum, up and unders need more work.
Cheers
What if they slowed down forwards but added a new stat to players for play the ball speeds where forwards would have a higher play the ball speed than backs n can use your forwards to get on the front foot to create more attacking opportunities out wide for the speedy backs! Also would like to have a new tactic on defence where you can make your defence line rush up more aggressively useful for on your goal line also to charge field goals down of course have risk with it like offsides increase high tackles this tactic was in rugby league 3 on the Wii n worked really well would like it to come back!
refunded this putrid game. rather my $100 back then the buggiest copy of a game out there.
Is there a reason why my players went from fowards being fast and backs slower to all players running in slow motion ?
You gotta give them time. Admittedly the game was probably released too soon but thereās been a bunch of patches so far so that gives me hope things will keep improving over the coming weeks/months.
Iāve been a bit harsh on here as well due to my frustration with the state of the game but now that Iāve calmed down a bit I believe Bigant is working hard to improve things and I will be less critical and keep trying to help guide them in the right direction.
Aw I dunno man, I was a huge RLL4 fan and Iāve enjoyed parts of RL26 but here is just some stuff that has happened to me over the past couple of days.
-
During my player with the game on the line I attempted a pass which smacked the opposing player in the head who somehow headbutted it 50 metres to his 10 metre line which was somehow a 40/20, they kicked a field goal to win the game.

Start up a career mode, every time I start the game I have to turn alternate numbers from āYesā to āNoā despite maybe 2 or 3 teams in the comp actually using them but on this day I forget. Start signing players, getting ticket prices and staff in order etc only to load up the first game for the numbers to be all over the place, why does the game not remember something as simple as preference on alternate numbers?
-
When trying to start the above career I noticed a lot of positions just arenāt accurate which is pretty surprising since each player can be Googled and the position found in about 20 seconds. Some players originally had their correct positions only for them to change with later patches, some players had the wrong position and then were patched to another wrong position etc.
-
And then away from the things Iāve experienced in the last 24 hours the complaints about lack of international teams, stats, career stats, career depth, general gameplay bugs/glitches all still need to be fixed as well.
All of the above things shouldāve been fixed before being released to the public. A few glitches every now and then, a couple of mistakes? Sure. The complaints and glitches at this point go into the hundreds though and thatās unacceptable.
Overall I do like the game and have enjoyed all of BigAntās league games but these patches donāt seem to really be fixing all that much and they deserve harsh treatment right now, this is an incomplete product and the incomplete product has netted them a minimum of eleven MILLION dollars.
I get it bro. I really just want to help get it right. I see the potential itās just going to take a lot of work.
As right as you are that the game still has a road to go and feels buggy and incomplete in several major ways, it boggles the mind to know that however many issues Rugby League '26 has, Rugby '25 has maybe 4-5 times as many.
It doesnāt excuse ridiculous scenarios of having no stats, prominent game-play bugs, creation suite problems and weak career depth though. This game should have stood on itās own as a fully developed working product on release!
Having 5 major sports titles on the go at a moderately sized developer will do that I suppose.
If I get tackled a metre from the line on last tackle why do they get a play the ball on the 10 metre line? Why in NRL games does the ref say heāll give me a yellow card? How do you get it so wrong? Why is Leka a FB, gonna get rookie of the year and I refuse to believe anyone who watches league play tested this game.
Iāve tried so hard to enjoy it but I think Iām done. The halfback is wearing no.6. Itās so bad, I legit think you should scrap it and start again. How didnāt you have someone look over the teams?
Iāve already got ideas for create a set play Iāve been sitting on for nearly 15 years lol.
Letās just see in another years time where both Rugby games are.
I believe they can be fairly judged, without doubt, by then.
Edit: Yes I am aware that you will get people moan, b**h, and whine. Thatās the nature of the beast, not just in games, but in life in general.
They can be fairly judged NOW. Big Ant have released these games as quality products ready to use, So any judgment they get right now is fair.
A year on after release is when we can āfairly judge themā???
Iām merely saying letās see in a years time. I get the feeling across all BA games that there are mixed feelings.
I myself find good points and bad points with all titles. Some games have gotten better over time.
Iām gonna remain patient and see. Thereās no one else going to make a League or Union game in the next however many years.
Because no one else is making a game is not a reason for accepting low standards.
As far as I understand it you are someone who watches the game, watching AI play AI.
So our concerns about the intricacies of the gameplay are probably not going to be the same as yours.
Game as been in EA pretty much a year ago and we seen minimal changes so donāt really see what waiting another year will do, looking at BA latest games reviews aināt that good for most of them
Agree, is a really really good foundation in there. It will get worked out for sure.
Agree on the too early thing as well, you are surely right. Nacon and licensing deals probably force their hand.
This will end up better than 2, 3 or 4 in the end.
This game is in the TieBreak and AFL23 side of the line. Not the Rugby 25 side
@Nesreviac you are correct I play AI v AI and my experience with the game is a lot different to someone who plays Player v AI or Player v Player
I understand and respect everyoneās different play styles and issues with the game.
Apologies if I came across wrong, that was never my intention.
I also have my issues with how the AI plays at times.
I do also agree with @Valhalla_Vagabond that the game will eventually become good. I think that will be the case for all styles of play, be it AI v AI or player involvement.
