From the sounds of it, basically their version of FIFA’s Ultimate Team. I’d assume it’ll be online based
Collect player cards (current/legend players) with in game and real $$ to create a team and play others online.
They have it in AFL and have added it to Cricket 24. Games like Fifa have had it for a long time.
Big Ant have been working on it for a while dating back to the previous AFL but had issues with player associations etc. as they wanted to make sure ex players were paid for their cards.
Okay, thanks. I don’t really play online, so I probably won’t bother with it.
Me either, always seen it as a cash grab by EA etc. in the past. I even had an EA account banned back in the day for illegally trading/selling cards for a Fifa I didn’t even own.
Swore off EA for quite a long time after that, but eventually came back for the odd Need for Speed and Star Wars.
I said this in 2010 when Rugby League Live came out lol..
90 rated players coming out in 10 minutes
That doggies guy played it. He is a fanboy though and I don’t think he sold it. It’s the same as RLL4. So disappointing.
Find it strange that Ross tweeted that “its a big week” when the NRL trailer came out last week and yet only 40hrs until official release and yet Bigant have not released any images or gameplay… big week for who???..will it reveal something great or underwhelming!? Wheres the giddy up for the game.
Big week because the game’s coming out
That should be the easy part..just watching sales figures go up and have a team i guess to troubleshoot any issues that may arise…hardly exhaustive. The data work should be already packaged ready to be installed on the game for day 1 patch, just gotta hit send.
On the bottom it is indicated “Internet Required”.
I know it was the case for Steam for other titles, but I thought it was not the case for PS5 / Xbox.
Does that mean that even for offline modes it won’t be possible to access the game without internet ?
As far as I’m aware you need Internet to play the game for all modes.
Think its for academy connection as well as if you want to play online modes like pro team or you wanna play with your mates - Most likely wont need it for offline modes like career etc
Better not need an internet connection to play by myself… I’ve been playing with myself for years and haven’t needed an internet connection… ok… welll in the ET’s Rugby League days i didn’t need internet… but gradually i…
On an unconnected note… there better be Cheerleaders. Best addition to the franchise EVER!!! ![]()
if you don’t have an internet connection you’re playing whatever tf that fella was streaming on youtube lol.
BA stats team ![]()

Jk
Greetings from the AFL 26 forum!
Just wanted to point out that Pro Team in AFL26 has 3 modes. 1 that is online playing against others (Premiership Challenge) and the other 2 are in fact ‘offline’ where you play V the AI (Coach Battles & Ladder Leaders). I say ‘offline’ because as someone has already pointed out you need an internet connection to play the game.
I myself play the 2 offline modes and absolutely love it!
It’s also perfectly viable to grind away to earn cards/rewards etc and end up with a very good team without spending a cent. Buying packs most definitely short cuts this, but is by no means essential.
I haven’t played it, but I believe Cricket has a similar set up.
Hopefully for you guys, it will be the same type of system when it is introduced ![]()
Can’t remember which one, either Live 2 or 3, they linked different stats together, there was no goal kicking stat, and ended up with all the front rowers as goal kickers. I’d prefer that not happen again.
To’o has better kicking stats then latrell makes no sense
If the stats you guys are discussing are from the gameplay leak, those are not final.
