Thats a great blended idea …something that does the good things out of both RLL3 and RLL4 would be a good foundation coupled with sliders, then build it up from there…i like it.
I used to say back in the day a game of league has never been made that had realistic field size vs players, fifa started to get it right and it opened up gameplay. If a game can be made where a player can’t easily cover 10metres of space (cos they can’t in reality) then it would be interesting.
Not to mention, props should be slow, wingers should be fast. Make it so.
maybe Super League will give us something on tonights tv match - Leigh v Wigan?
Think Ross hinted at a sl trailer this weekend
Anyone know if you can make late changes to your team before kick off, details matter!!!
How long does it take a winger in RLL4 to run the length of the field?
The same as it takes most other players. It’s not about how fast the wingers are, it’s about how slow the other players aren’t.
Man, took me too long to figure out how to make a post
.
Anyway, long time lurker from back in the RL2 Sidhe days through to RLL4 (and Cricket). Was there for the Ross vs Mario battle, as mentioned by others, I do remember a lot of us backing Mario for a while, how dare this new guy come in and take our game. All we wanted back then was RL3 (WII) on our PCs and consoles but it got pretty silly in the end. I understood a bit of Mario’s frustration, having people discuss/promote someone elses game on his forum, because it did take Big Ant a while to setup their forums.
I took part in the many, many failed RLL2 online comps. Having to re-do the player drafts over and over after 3-4 rounds of games when someone would drop out. I never meant to be sneaky or underhanded, but I do remember one of my trades causing a stir and bringing in the rule “you can’t trade a trade” when i traded Jarrod Mullen for Jarryd Hayne, then traded Hayne for someone else and the guy who had the Eels got upset.
Anyway, super pumped. Time to rebuild the Knights to their former glory (again) since it’s all I’ve been doing since RL2 in 05. It’s been a lean 20 years.
Recognise a lot of old names, good to be back.
Will The Betfred Championship ( Lower Division to Betfred Super League) be in Rugby League 26 ?
There was a game released on the PS2 back in 2004 named ‘World Championship Rugby’ that nailed the speed difference between the backs and forwards. The players all seemed to move at a great pace which made the gameplay feel smooth and well-paced.
I’m hoping Rugby league 26 will feel similar.
Exactly goose. They don’t need to make major gameplay changes, they just need to work on physics and get the spacing right. It’s also something that shouldn’t cost a lot to experiment with, gameplay vision will help a lot. Hopefully not all cut scenes
how many national teams will be in the Rugby League 26 ?
So let’s break this down and maybe someone can explain to me how this is smart marketing?
11 days to go and there has been a few images and a cover announced. The NRL I believe are in total control of the IP and are therefore responsible for this lack of info.
Cool OK so if they have approved the game and the quality of it now, cos let’s face it it’s way too late to change anything, then why not shout it from the roof tops that is awesome and coming very soon?
I’m just a nobody consumer, but if I wanted to sell a lot of something, I’d make sure everyone knew about it not just those that follow this page or that Instagram guy.
If they are saving it for origin 3, that still doesn’t make sense to me. I’d have announced it formally with clubs taking centre stage 2 weeks ago, then set up an origin decider demo match with all the bells and whistles to really capture the already excited public, and drop it 5pm Wednesday.
But hey…. That’s just me.
Yeh I think it’s definitely a missed opportunity to build up even more hype than there is already for the game - although from all reports the response has been pretty positive and all units so far shipped have been snapped up - no thanks to the NRL though so I hope they don’t take any credit !!!
I am sure Ross and the great team over at Big Ant would be just as frustrated as us over them not releasing any details at all if the NRL are in control of that. I mean I can forgo more screenshots or release of media if we were told somethings like what teams and leagues will be included, new features that haven’t been in a league game previously, all the important stuff to really get people excited for the prospect of this actually having the possibility of truly being the greatest rugby league video game of all - but we just have absolutely nothing !
This game I hope is a success and it is a really great game and depiction of rugby league we have all been waiting for - I for one though will make sure my praises will be for the team at Big Ant and not the NRL if they are the reason for the lack of marketing and info being released.
10 days and all will be revealed and I will stick by the team and do whatever I can to help ensure even any initial issues are ironed out to make it the best game possible !
If you’re unhappy about how the NRL has handled the release, there is no use posting about it here. BigAnt can’t do anything about it. Complain to the NRL themselves. Email them, phone them, call them out on their social media accounts.
Waste of time and energy I say !doing that! They won’t care unfortunately .
If we all just put our time and energy into constructive feedback here when the game releases for improvements and bug fixes that the team at Big Ant can apply, we will reap the benefits ![]()
@Steeler the point of my post wasn’t to blame big ant, if you read my post you’d see I mentioned its within the nrl control. I was merely pointing out the inadequacy of the marketing of a game 10 years in the making.
In learning today the Western Clydesdales in Q-Cup are not affiliated with an NRL club, how will this play out in RL26 if they are in the game and are used in career mode?
Am surprised the UK Superleague are not doing more marketing releases prior to launch since Ross mentioned the UK market needs the exposure, in what I think could be considered dominated by soccer… keeping potential customers engaged right up till release versus something else on the shelf that may spike a kids interest.
I still remember asking Mario (via the forum) if he had any Irish links because of the name Sidhe. It was a great forum!
Greetings from Dublin. ![]()
Super league had no news this weekend?
