If I pay $100 for a game that has a new title and also considering the game developer is small where they can only provide the same gameplay as the last installment, i would expect that all bugs and shortcomings be vastly improved and fixed.
The floating passing and offloading.
The unrealistic choice of animation at certain times eg make a bust and have forward momentum to only be tackled from behind but get driven back.
The magnet like effect that we see in tackles that defies physics.
Playmakers standing somewhere that makes sense on last to get a kick away and not on the touchline.
Not getting driven back every tackle on higher difficulties.
Can i just once, throw a nice cut out or harbour bridge pass from my halfback or 5/8 for my winger to score without it resulting in an intercept or a tackle???
Im sure i have more but this is all i have off the top of my head.
I expect Big Ant to fix it… in the past i was of the belief that Big Ant took pride in their work and would strive for the best they could under the restraints of Publishers.
My hope is they fix it so we get a functional game with a future.. or that Big Ant get the rights and make a game without restrictions.
But i don’t know how much of the old team is there.. nothing personal, but bring Jimmy back!!!
Anyone know if you choose to play in Queensland cup in player career, can you progress to the nrl?
yes you can progress from QLD cup to NRL but It feeels unrealist for so many teams to progress considering NSW cup is Uslly the main pipline for young players and if you going from a QLD cup to NSW team.

It would be cool in career mode after selecting your 17 man squad for that week any change you make after that the players keep there jersey number no matter what. For example if you wanted to start a bench player instead they would keep there number (ie 16) or if you wanted to pick someone in the extended squad they could be rocking the number 19 on their back. Always wanted this to be a feature and I think it would make the game even more immersive.
(I’m not sure if this is an intentional or not but when I moved Talakai to centre from the bench on play now he retained his bench number. If it is why not bring it to career mode)
Rugby League Live 2 was awesome, I loved the fun way to play, When Live4 came out I got over it in a week it was crap compared to the last games. RL26 is just as bad if not worse.
The lines the players run and trying to pass those lines doesn’t work, by the time they catch the ball they are getting tackled, you rely on more luck to score tries and make brakes then skill.
There should be more time with the ball in attack to create plays, i.e. stepping as they go to tackle feels like you need to preselect to step before you get near the line and then they have a delayed miss tackle instead of stepping as you get near the defender. draw and pass doesn’t work as the player you want to pass to will stand back and by the time he catches it defence has plenty of time to adjust and tackle him.
Im going to put the game on the shelf for a few months and hope some decent updates come through, I want an arcade game I can play with the kids and have fun on the console, don’t care for online I want to play with family and friends in my house not on the internet.
Not the same without NSW cup either. cant have a career without proceeding through NSW cup

The fact they removed all statistics from the game in career mode is literally insane… It has made the mode extremely dry, you have to go through 4 tabs just to see a detailed ladder, theres no man of the match!? and to top it off we are missing leagues like nswcup. I’m really trying to enjoy the game as i love rugby league but the state of it is absolutely terrible. I cant see them adding any of these things in the future either, if this is what they call a finished and ready to play product, I highly doubt we will get anything fixed or updated.
Rugby league live 2 is still the best game wishing rl26 was at that level but no where near that game yet unless they make some massive gameplay changes. Structure is way better half’s are in the right places forwards running off them into gaps with proper draw and pass. Inside out side plays, Unders lines. Bombs for wingers. Running attacking lines make sense.
They just need to add improvements to the Player Creator and how we add players and teams.
Legends would have to all be negotiated individually as far as i know.. and there is no point wasting time, money and resources on things we can do for ourselves.
That said, earlier Forum input could be handy in future iterations… because an extended commentary name list could be worth an extra hour of Vossy’s Time.
In my opinion I don’t have a problem with it I can score trys on legend difficulty you just play it like how you play league in real life crash the ball up 2 or 3 times then use the ball and play at the line you’ll find holes more.
and another tip don’t hold sprint all the time it gives you more time to pass and you won’t need to side step spam or fend spam to break the line.

I have success and win comfortably on legend but the problem is how you have to go about it and how far removed and outside of the ‘feel’ of rugby league it all is. Not just on legend, but also pro and veteran difficulties.
About ‘finding holes’ in the defense - you don’t really ‘create’ the holes or ‘take advantage’ of inadequacies in the defensive line in this game though. The gaps 99% of the time only open up ‘after’ you’ve made the pass due to poor and awol inactive AI. These ‘gaps’ a lot of the time too will only appear in the middle third of the field where funnily enough numbers are met.
The game should though imo strive to ‘feel’ like proper rugby league ‘on the controller’. It should have a sense of momentum at the ruck. It should reward line breaks to the attacking team by catching the defensive line short of numbers, out of position and offside at the 10 metre line. It should reward taking the ball deep into the defensive line with ball players, reading and reacting to what’s in front of you. It doesn’t do any of these truly at all - the fundamentals of rugby league.
Fwiw, I do believe BA do have it in them to achieve these things and wouldn’t have spent $122 if I didn’t think so. There is & was a solid base to build upon with RLL4.
Yeah sure irl munster and bloke to right are marking no one and outside defender only has eyes for the sideline in a 2 v 4 situation

Munster was on the 13 it was the run sideways draw the outside defender in as well lol this happens IRL and no it still got it problems like the dummy half not passing or the ai don’t set up the set plays properly before the ball gets played and do agree like the outside backs don’t really get used as much as they should
