A small suggestion that the Shanghai Masters stadium looks like an indoor venue is not quite accurate.
Can someone please can confirm the requirements for for the trophy / achievement for on a world tour is it currently glitched I have done all the stadiums in free play so is it a case it needs to be done in career mode please can someone confirm as I see a lot of post on achievements / trophies sites about this one
Much better speed on serves since last nights update, have even got aces after a short test. Safe serves have higher speeds also, thanks devs the game feels great now
all they did is to redo the oktober 10/11 nerfing of the Serve and slight adjustments there. Serve Mechanics and Overpowered return still needs loads of work imo! I think it’s in a good place for casuals now as i said…maybe it’s really the best idea to introduce Arcade(now) and a Simulation mode for the next update! Similar to the 3-way movement system they introduced a while back.
Played Federer vs dimitrov at Halle. (Grass and with two shot makers)
Lots of long rallies which just doesn’t seem right. The surface is slow and yeah bit of a slugfest.
Had like 1 ace too and conceded one ace. Being teleported into a serve return makes serving have absolutely no benefit to the player and cpu. Won 6:1 and I breaking serve is way too easy
So many times I was wrong footed and really should have overran the ball or had a ugly stab at the ball but because of how the game mechanics are, my player suddenly changes direction and mini teleports into a pretty powerful and well timed shot………
Very arcade and casual experience even on hard.
Too much assistance right now with the game. Player input right now is as long as you are early enough to power up a shot it will go over the net.
I’ve seen the cpu underpower and miss hit shots into the net…………unless I really mess up I can’t remember the last time my shot went into the middle of the net.
Or even times when I really shouldnt have gotten to a ball but yeah the little teleportation that happens as part of the stroke is something they are yet to tone down (can we have a option to turn that off………)
Furthermore, It has been happening for a while now but the rallies where both players are close to the singles court line and are hitting dead straight down the line shots with little to no chance of going out really demonstrates the hand holding tiebreak really provides…….
I wanna be punished for playing too aggressively and mistiming shots, cause I wanna be able to make myself adjust. Right now there really isn’t any opportunity to.
Big ant really need to take the training wheels off the game play and provide a more manual experience for players(unassisted aim, unassisted shot power up and release, punish the player for bad movement) who have basically figured out the game and right now longevity in the game is very low.
yes…too much reward in the game and too little risk as the community said so often and as you said here…it really hurts the longevity of the game! Will be pretty intersting how they will tackle(if at all) these issues going forward. For example the animation lock that overwrites the direction you move in. If they disable that completly i think the overall animation quality could suffer a lot. I hope they find a good solution for these problems going forward!
Been using the tiebreak movement as I feel like that makes the game more of a challenge especially if you mess up the triggers, which is good. Footwork and positioning plays a bigger part of the game. But, One big thing I want big ant to do is if the player is holding both l2 and r2 while playing a shot it should really be way less accurate and prone to more mistakes cause right now a player can just hold l2 and r2 together all the time without much punishment (no risk vs reward)
If Tiebreak stayed how it is now since last update i would be very happy,i can now say it is my favourite tennis game ever, before that it was AO2 as i hate the slow gameplay of Topspin 2K25. Yes the more serious players should have a super tough simulation mode and sliders for court and ball speed like AO2 would be a bonus.
Actually made the decisicion to buy topspin 2k25, cause it was half price………yeah not worth 60 bucks.
Topspin does have little things that if tiebreak does it would be great.
Played a few matches on topspin and had to take time to adjust to their timing mechanic. Getting so used to timing up my shots as early as possible if I did that in topspin I would never have a ‘perfect’ or at least a ‘good’ timing shot……while it didn’t punish me the way I wanted (most shots were just loopy garbage) tiebreak would do well to having a more harsh timing mechanic in play.
I did not notice any animation lock onto the ball with topspin which I would hope tiebreak will address soon, those little bits of teleportation animation into the stroke is off putting and that also exposes an issue where it seems like the player can’t be punished if they are scrambling and off balanced in getting a ball…………in topspin I was able to overrun and mis-position my player and get punished for it…….lost the point but made me think to adjust.
Serving and having an aiming reticle and a getting punished for Mistiming the release is one thing topspin does better I think. Tiebreaks serving has ZERO benefit……which is a shame
Finally Playing topspin made me realised how good the speed of play in tiebreak is………no one likes playing in slow motion……as long as the hand holding to turned off or at least give us the option to, tiebreak will be better for it
One more thing big ant, would be really good for you guys to incorporate some of the mechanics from cricket24 and previous iterations. Confidence is one thing I hope will become a thing in the future, will be a big gameplay change especially if a player has low confidence which should make the player adjust how they play and vice versa.
Yes i traded in 2k25 because of the woefully slow gameplay and loopy ball physics which are terrible, loving Tiebreak at the moment.
just watched a video of someone playing AO tennis 2 in 2024 and i remembered that Ao tennis 2 had the following controls (EVEN A OPTION TO USE BOTH JOYSTICKS!!!)
Additionally, watching the gameplay of that game(which i didnt like tbh cause the ball physics was way too floaty and kinda meh) actually punished players for overpowering and mistiming when you played a shot. (shots went wide and long) especially when you play shots which were not the right choice for the situation you are in
Big Ant brought in TWT Movement to cater for those who didnt like the tiebreak movement (which i actually love), wouldnt actually mind having this control option along with the harshness of not getting it right.
Tiebreak is great compared to AOT2, really wouldnt mind having the same control option as AOT2 though.
It’s to easy to break the opponent’s serve. I used to do Just a early drop shot on the return and easy pass. Every point the same. I’m in the career with a new born player (rate 48) , i can’t hold my serve turn and it’s normal cause my player is a beginner…but i broke all the opponent’s serve…so boring… please fix it, they also can’t close a simple volley with the nose in the net…they gave me only a lot of gift for the pass
R1 + X (flat shot) when returning is way too powerful and it is all reward and no risk. Don’t even need to guess where the serve is going just start power up right after the serve is hit, don’t overpower and have the animation lock get the player to the ball and just aim for the corners. I can hit a winner 8/10 times. 2/10 the cpu might get it back short and you have another easy flat shot to put them away……….in some of the earlier ea access versions flat shots were risky and players had to pick the right time to hit it……hopefully that comes back and adjust down the animation lock to a bare minimum
You have to take the system, games like on ao2 and twt for the Gameplay. On the one hand the assured blow and on the other hand the powerful and precise risky blow by holding down R2 for example. The current system of holding down the key does not offer any variation, we tend to hit all the blows with extreme power because the Gameplay values this and it is not clear when we remove the visual aid
i mentioned something similar in my September 23th feedback. Since then others came forward with good ideas to add someting similar like they have in their cricket games.
Risk/Reward:
-Risk, risk, risk, risk. It’s become the number one thing that the fans have asked for. We want our choices to matter. We want to figure out how to open up for a winner. We want to have to pace ourselves and wait for a pattern to emerge.
My Suggestion:
Why not make the blue blinking shot(perfect shot) a really powerful and well aimed shot and the Red(Overpowered) shot a Misshit/out? It’s the easiest solution imo but i would even go further.
Now with the new Movement system it looks like LT/RT isn’t really a factor anymore. So what else could you possibly do?
(1). Change up the R1 Modified shots
→ Make R1+Lob the advanced(moonball) top spin shot
–>Make R1+Top Spin a aimed/risky top spin shot.
–>Make R1+Flat a aimed/risky flat shot.(who actually is using the dip drive shot right now anyway?)
–>R1+Slice stays the same as it is right now.
(2). An other solution would be to look once again at FAT! Add kind of a timing mechanic! For example you load up your top spin shot like it is right now. Before the player hits the ball
you can tap Top Spin once again to add another “layer” of risk to that shot! Timing should matter here(if you tap top spin at the exact moment when the racket hits the ball its great timing/
if you are too late or too early you place the ball wide or net)
And as i said Halfvolley Top Spin shots need to be nerfed IMO!
Sydney and Perth still missing from Play Now and Tournaments
played latest update this morning and some observations are:
Good update but lots of room for improvement still - heading in the right direction
Serving is still ineffective as returns are so easy on both sides, albeit easier to fault now
Returns are overpowered
The animation lock problem is still part of the game, where it locks your player onto the ball for the groundstroke animation. It seems like it is less strong after the update, but will need more time to make a judgement.
Easier to make unforced errors now, Both player and CPU
CPU serve percentage is down (I had Dimitrov’s first serve at 81%, which was also the same for me)
Still no timing mechanism……I played Topspin before I got my TB update this morning, and yeah, the only thing I like about that game (Topspin) is the timing mech. Everything else in Topspin is slow and unenjoyable.
CPU hits the ball close to the lines all the time and with alot of clean strikes and power, even on the defensive.
Not a lot of variety in shots and rally speed, it is still a power groundstroke game. Using slices to break up the speed of the rally against the CPU will work but player vs player, it is just an opportunity served on a platter to have a fully powered shot being returned, right now there isn’t a way to mess with the timing and rhythm of your opponent
Love volleying with the new update. There are fewer instances of the ball behaving like a beachball off your racket and sailing metres long and wide. had a lot of really nice volleys from FED where he had to dig it from his ankles. YEAH volleying is so much better
There is not a lot of variety in CPU play styles that are noticeable. I havent come across the CPU serving and volleying
In Tennis world tour 2 the players were taller and more defined thanks to the immersive close-up camera, while in Tiebreak they are smaller and less defined, please I only ask you to add the same immersive close-up camera that was in Tennis World tour 2 Thank you
The player models in Tennis World Tour 2 looked terrible, they were distorted stretched tall which put me off getting the game,AO Tennis 2 models looked more realistic and Tiebreak has the most accurate models of any tennis game,i am amazed you see it the opposite.
