Currently, around 50 people have gotten this one.
It’s very specific.
I’ve gone through a heap of the objectives, I’m stuck on quite a few not tracking now which has made me come to a halt grinding to level 40.
I got the hidden objective my guess is it came up after I won a ladder leader comp, could be completely wrong though as it doesn’t tell you how you got it.
Worked for me. I made sure to have a player from each club in the starting 18, not just the 23. Not sure if that makes a difference.
Thanks heaps folks. Yeah seems like I have just lucked out.
Oh well, means I need to put in more hours until it pops.
I’m one of the lucky 50 that have snagged the hidden objective so far. No idea what I did to get it though!
I haven’t won a ladder leader comp this season like @dont_argue04 so it wasn’t that for me.
While I will be away towards the end of the Season, maybe I’ll drop a little hint for those who haven’t been lucky enough to get it.
Big fan of rugby and decided to jump back into their EA for Rugby 25, they have Bench players Keen for this in AFL23 !! So many different things in this game that could be implemented into the AFL game
What was the Hidden Objective last season for the Xmas set?
I got it, but no idea how…
Premiership challenge is now borderline unplayable for me. Every 2nd match i find the other player quits on the guernsey selection screen, and if they don’t, they quit as soon as they’re down by more than 2 goals and I get a “lost connection to steam” error, the game counts as a loss and I get a 10 premiership point deduction on top of that.
My record this season is officially 9-12, but in reality I have only lost 4 games, the rest were either the oppo disconnecting and the game counting it as a loss for me, or random losses being added to my record out of thin air.
I still enjoy playing online, but these issues have really killed my motivation to try to push up the ladder.
And @dont_argue04 has still not responded to me despite still being active in this forum. Why do I bother…
Quitting a game penalises both players? That ain’t right, I wonder why the code is unable to query the server log.
I’m mortified of pulling ahead on PC without even knowing this issue existed. It just feels like such a waste of time when someone quits, in the (very) rare chance there’s a skill gap I try to stay a goal or two behind to improve the chance of finishing the game.
On a side note I don’t envy the task of any developer having to build a system around flaky nbn connections. I’m not sure how feasible this is, but it would be good if there was an option to pause the game, ask the online player if they wish to wait and ask the missing player to reconnect when they are back online. The message could advise the dropped player they’ll receive a penalty for selecting no provided the other player is still waiting.
Not every time. Most of the time you get awarded the win, but occasionally ill get a “lost connection to steam” error and a loss gets added to my record. It only ever happens when im in front by a decent margin and I’ve had certain opponents do it multiple times, so I’m positive they’re intentionally using some sort of exploit.
I know what you mean man, I’ve had the same lost connection to steam error and get a loss on my record too. Same as well, only ever happens when I am in front by a decent amount, so you might be on to something as it could be an intentional exploit as it’s never happened to me when losing.
When you say steam error are you talking about steam like pc. But its also been happening on ps5 ever since the game came out. My first 20 odd games i was winning about 19 of them but got discounted ever time. When i raised the issue every one told me it was my connection. Even tho i never have problems withbother games
Thanks.
Just noticed / realised that the strategy to wait for the server when objectives aren’t tracking only really works for Base and Season objectives. For weekly it appears you’re dead out of luck.
On a positive, I think the Devs have given player fumbles a slight bump, a welcome change. And since moving to the PS5 version the dynamic end to end camera has easily become my favourite, just have to zoom the camera close to the action then increase the field of view. A really nice angle that both takes you close to the action and also lets you see what’s going on down field. This could be an effective way for making contested footy more skill based in the next one.
What objective in Weekly isn’t tracking for you? I’d log a support ticket to see what they can do to fix it up.
Also, camera angle… I may have to start my migration to End-to-End.
I love playing on Side, but it’s a killer online against players who see the field ahead of them…
Although it may not matter… I’m still getting smashed in clearances no matter what I try.
I’m side on every day of the week.
I, for one, am not a fan of the constant ‘spinning’ back and forth of the screen that happens with end to end, it gives me motion sickness
As for online, to be brutally frank, I avoid those games due to online is where the trolls live - so needless to say that my Season Objective to play 15 online games will not be hitting
In regards to Weekly Objectives not tracking, I’ve noticed the 200 marks hasn’t clicked for me yet.
So unless I’ve dropped every single one in my 5 games so far or I have handballed my way to victory, I assume it may be stuck.
750 possessions and one other didn’t track.
Right now the weeklies are most likely to not move which feels oddly specific. Probably a simple explanation under the covers.
While I’m here…objectives to accrue inside 50’s means to create the inside 50, correct? As opposed to the tally tracking the player that receives the ball.
My take on inside 50s (and rebound 50s for that matter) is that you must control the ball once it transitions in/out of the 50. What I mean by that is if you bomb it into the 50 but the forward drops the mark (or is spoiled) and then the opposition retrieves it and kicks it out again, it won’t count.
Also, I’ve found that you can’t just walk back and forth over the 50 to bump the numbers. You will need to (for rebound 50s for example) have the opposition bring the ball into the 50 and then you take it out again. So kicking it backwards to your player and then kicking it back out will not accrue the numbers.
Hope all that rambling made some sense
Sure does, thanks.
I’m getting better with the objectives, but I can’t help but like the idea of a system that’s a little more streamlined. For example, a player achieves 50 goals so you can put someone else at FF - but what objective? What player? Unless you have a good memory you have to read all the objectives again.
Similarly for named player objectives - do you have the player? Jump out, search, if not then back in you go and search again. It takes a minute.
Lucky last grinding goals and match achievements are very different. One is set and forget, the other you have to put them in the guts or make sure you are kicking the ball to them a lot.
First world probs I guess but it would be nice if there was symbols against each objective i.e. a tick against a player name if you have them or a cross if you don’t (also ideally a button you can press that takes you to a selection screen with the player name filtered); and a symbol for if the objective is a match achievement or it’s cumulative.
I would also love the option to check objectives as you play - that would be really sweet. It’s a lot to remember sometimes, especially when it’s a case of goals assists vs goals, possesions vs handballs specifically and so on.
