this is more a flaw of the game and something that hopefully gets addressed in the future.
the powered and accurate kicks and handball AI players can get away while getting tackled. every single player seems to have the ability to get a one step kick that always hits the target or kicks a goal 50 metres out…even when going to ground as they are being tackled…
BUT
As others have mentioned in earlier post dont hold onto sprint when trying to tackle and use a combo of R1 (homing) and Tackle to have at least some success.
Game needs a system for tackling based on zones which are determined by distance between the players (with stats and all that jazz too) and when a tackle is made and how it affects disposals and some visual or heptic cues for the player to know WHEN they should tackle
Need a place in proteam to see what cards are each collection and what cards can be pulled from each pack. Like nbas my team. Make it like so we can scroll and see what cards actually exist. Maybe even a trading system with mates and randoms
anyone else feel like the game is too easy just like 23, easily winning once again on hardest. also they should add in so you can play any league in manager mode.
Do you notice the AI changing tactics? Like when they fall behind, does it seem like they change the way they play?
Cause I’m pretty sure they don’t change tactics. Which, I suppose, once you’ve figured it out, the game becomes easy.
I should play a full-length match (with more time to notice changes) and see if there is a noticeable difference in how the AI plays depending on the game state. I wonder if QTR length also affects it
The longer the QTRs, the more likely the AI actually changes its tactics?
honestly it feels like right now tactics arent being adjusted but rather the effectiveness of the disposals of the opposition. They do the same thing, but when they are winning, it just works, kinda like scripting.
please help me, i remember the game popped up with a code unable to be read thing but i forgot to screenshot it now when i launch the game again it doesnt pop up the game just doesnt load
Better adaptive AI - this is a longevity thing - right now once you figure out how to beat the system is is easy pickings
More manual controls to make it harder, but also more rewarding when you get it right.
The hand holding has to stop eventually - it’s gonna be bumpy initially, but time and effort should be rewarded
Harder player and career mode - for the player, the chances of failing should be way higher. (To a point where maybe you don’t even get drafted and maybe try your luck playing a few years of VFL)
Just imagine having a player career similar to the following:
1. James Podsiadly (Geelong/Adelaide)
Drafted as a mature-aged rookie at 28 after years in the VFL.
Key forward for Geelong, played in the 2011 premiership.
104 games, 195 goals.
Later played for Adelaide.
2. Dean Cox (West Coast Eagles)
Rookie-listed in 2000.
Became a six-time All-Australian and premiership ruckman (2006).
3. Aaron Sandilands (Fremantle)
Picked up as a rookie at age 18, over 200 cm tall.
Played 271 games and was a four-time All-Australian.
4. Matt Priddis (West Coast)
Rookie-listed and spent time dominating WAFL before debuting.
Won the Brownlow Medal in 2014.
240 AFL games – known for toughness and clearances.
5. Nick Maxwell (Collingwood)
Rookie pick who became Collingwood’s premiership captain in 2010.
Played 208 games – known for leadership and intercept marking.
6. Kane Lambert (Richmond)
Overlooked in multiple drafts; finally picked as a mature-age rookie.
Played a key role in three Richmond premierships (2017, 2019, 2020).
7. Bayley Fritsch (Melbourne)
Originally overlooked in his draft year; came through VFL.
Couldn’t agree more. Imagine how insane online would be when everyone has more freedom to play exactly the way they like. I feel like it’s definitely going to happen in the long term as well, considering how well manual kicking and handballing has worked
Change your roster in the main menu before starting a management career. I put my custom player into a AFL team then started a management career. I’m only two games in loving it. The only problem would be leaving the team to go somewhere else and not being able to control what happens to your player.
