Manager Career Mode Improvements

This mode I think is the best for now. I will say that much. Manager mode recruitment for now is the only issue. No one is available to recruit after first year which is pretty bad. Especially if morale is low they should be more likely to be transferred or leave. Super league is ok but NRL is impossible to sign anyone decent. Also when can you be rep coach cause I wanted to choose NSW and Maori

How do you simulate day by day without needing to back to the main menu to see if any updates? Trying to stop the AI from resigning players I don’t want

I’m going to guess because they’ve used RLL4 as a base the NSW cup files came across and someone has incorrectly applied then for NSW rep lol

Known Issues With Ways To Improve:

  • Contracts are as little as 3-4 times less than what they’d be in real life. For example Selwyn Cobbo who is available at the start of the game will sign on with your club for as little as 200k a season I believe but he’d be on 500-600k a season in real life. Regular first graders are available for 100-300k which is the wage of a reserve whilst I’ve seen some developmental players or depth players become available for as little as 50k and in some circumstances 0.

Ways to improve: A lot of contracts are made publicly available but I’d be happy with an estimate to be honest. I’d follow this table in a way:

150k - 300k: Depth players/fringe first graders/rising stars

400k - 700k: Regular first graders

700k - 1m: Star players with large reputations who have played representative games

1m+ - Biggest and best stars of the game EG Cleary, Ponga, Luai etc

  • Not all off contract players are available to negotiate with except for the first season. I have 5 star recruiting so you’d think most players would be available to negotiate but past the first season the only players that really become available to be signed are reservists or fringe first graders. As of November 1st this year in the real world teams will be able to negotiate with the likes of Payne Haas, Adam Reynolds, Villiame Kikau, Kurt Mann, Herbie Farnworth, Trbojevic Brothers, Xavier Coates and other big name players which is really exciting but the game doesn’t replicate this.

Ways to improve: I believe the contracts and when they expire are online for at least the next 3 seasons so if they aren’t accurate they could be changed with that information.

  • I’d like to see an improvement to contract negotiations. For example if I’m the team running last and I approach a massive overall player to sign with me it’d be cool if they were hesitant due to me not being up to their standard but as of right now as long as you have the money they will come and with the player contracts being so cheap you can easily rebuild a club in the first season.

  • Lack of individual game stats is becoming a problem after maybe the first season. If I’m simulating games I want to know who is playing well, who is playing poorly and when I’m recruiting players I want to know that as well. I think 2 tabs should be introduced to make career mode more in depth, I assume this is achievable because something like this is already implemented but it is unnecessarily confusing.

Tab 1: Current Season stats including games played, metres ran, average metres per game, offloads, try assists, tries and every other stat you’d see on NRL after a game.

Tab 2: Overall Stats including games played, representative games played, achievements, awards etc.

  • I genuinely don’t understand how representative games are not included, it’s such a big part of league and I’d almost say that career mode is only half complete without rep games being included. I know that the next business related move is to sell some DLC either at the end of this year or next year for the world cup but it’d be great to even have Australia, England, New Zealand, PNG, Samoa and Tonga in there for their yearly games right now. Australia Vs England is in there but we can’t do anything with it.

  • NSW Cup being missing is very odd as well. It’d be great to be able to send players down to NSW Cup or QLD Cup just like you could sort of do in RLL4 but it makes me not want to play career mode as a NSW team as it ruins my immersion.

Definitely this…. game has potential and I’m sure it will improve with updates. No stats kills the career mode immersion atm. Had all the above stats in RLL4 so hopefully can be added. Total games played and total points scored used to come up underneath player after they scored. Or perhaps.could just be added in player tab screen like AFL 26?

I’ll add on to this comment, as this contains some of the major issues. I did mention this is the bugs/issues thread, however, it seems as though you can ever win at judiciary.

  • Everything seems to result in 1-3 weeks; however, most things that go on report in the actual NRL result in fines instead of players always missing games.
  • Either adding that or a change to the RNG is needed to increase the likelihood of “winning”.
  • Another option (not sure how big of an impact it would have) is to add a club improvement for “legal team”, similar to the new “medical team” etc.

THIS INFO FOR JUDIARY CAN BE FOUND ON NRL WEBSITE (I CAN ONLY POST ONE IMAGE

Can we get team lists appear as the players are running onto the field?

Adding on to the contract issues, salaries are terrible at the moment. The 35-man squad for Cowboys is only spending around 4.5 mil (half the cap).

  • For example, Taumalolo is in the game on $200k (he is currently on around $900k). Most wages are available to see on Zero tackle website, should be easy enough to find and update.
  • Teams should have 30 man squads with a minimum wage of $135k. The extra 5 are called supplementary contracts (which are $80k).
  • Some players have already signed to clubs for 2026 and that should be already in the game (for example, Reece Robson to Roosters, Cobbo to Dolphins etc.)
  • I would also like contracts to take a little extra time to sign, giving other teams an opportunity to come in with a contract that you may have to try to outbid.

Photo is directly from the NRL website. The minimum wage of $135,000 should be easy enough to apply.

With super league the numbers on the player shirts change i would like to see them stay with there real numbers gives a more authentic feel
