We finally have limited (8) interchanges in career so things are getting better.
If they fix the player contract amounts, this will fix the amount of players available. As it stands, because most players are between 40-400k, AI teams just sign everyone.
In my current coach career, i re-signed all current squad members (40) and still had 5mil left to spend.
Yep. In the week and a half the game is out Iâve played a lot of career and the only star players that ever have become available are those in their mid to late 30s on the verge of retirement.
Want to sign Nathan Cleary and see how he goes leading the Tigers around? No can do. Want to replicate real life and get Fogarty at the Sea Eagles? No can do.
How does something so simple not get included in the gameâŚ
This appears to be the core of the issue.
Player values are low, but the cap is realistic. This means that nobody is under any pressure in regard to resigning players, meaning very few will hit the open market.
Minimum salaries were updated in Patch 14 to $130,000. This is still incorrect. They were $130k in 2024, they are now $135k according to the NRL website.
Okay I dont know if anybody else is experiencing this but ive had 2 players retire halfway through my first season as coach. Martin tapau and ben hunt, i think it has something to do with them getting injured. if one of ur older players cops a decent injury theyve coded it so they just give up and retire
You can put custom logos on the add boards of stadiums you make. I have made Port Moresby and Suva stadiums for my custom Hunters and Raiders sides. They have custom logos on the fence.
We need a way to release players properly without having to sim and then get stopped for it. We need something like the RLL4 release players.
It would be great to get historical stats like RLL4 had, but with better access to them.
Stats like career appearances, career tries, career conversion success etc. for individual players.
These stats are available in player career for your player, but would be good if you could see them for every player.
When will we see nsw cup and international fixtures in career mode? Donât even want to start one until everything is all there, makes it more fun
Yeah, simply needs a tab with first grade appearances, origin appearances, international appearances, tries, goals, tackles and other match related stats that is historically accurate.
Would be a bludger of a job but I feel like with a dedicated team it wouldnât take all that long, it seems that the ability to do it already exists.
There surely needs to be career mode stats included. Itâs kind of madness it could even be launched without having that. Itâs what iPhone games do.
Would be great to have an on screan notification of interchanges just so we can see who is coming on (when using auto line changing).
This is a long read, but I believe career mode has a long way to go. These are the key additions I would like to see that will help improve depth and longevity. Sent as a ticket to Big Ant.
-
Statistics. I would like to see league-wide statistics available. This will help to track how our players are progressing through the season and also which players to scout and recruit from other teams or leagues. There should also be an ongoing Dally M (or league equivalent) leader board so we can track how our players are positioned.
-
More in-depth statistics in club management. We can currently set ticket prices, membership prices, merch prices etc, but at the moment it feels surface level and somewhat hollow as a feature. Each match we play, specifically home games, should come with an attendance figure. This figure should rise and fall depending on a number of factors including ticket/membership prices, team performance, fixture time and date. If we had this statistic, we could more logically handle the ticket and membership pricing and it would feel like it actually matters. We should also be able to adjust these prices during the season, not have to lock them in before the season starts.
-
Player morale/communication. It would be good to occasionally receive messages from players when they feel they are being played out of position, given limited gametime, etc. The responses and actions should then affect the players morale, which would in turn give them a boost or decrease in ratings for a set period of time. This leads to my next point.
-
Training. We should be able to set training routines for players. The training should have both positive and negative affects on players, including ratings improvements, morale boosts/decreases, fitness levels, stamina, etc. We should also indicators on how player ratings have either progressed or regressed through the season.
-
Currently the mode feels stale and routine. It would be great if on occasion through the year there are events that can shake up your season. This can be things like players requesting releases (based on morale, game time, etc) and disciplinary issues with players that arenât match-related (eg not turning up to training, late to game day, bad social media posts). We, as coaches, could then have to make the decision on what action is taken. Our decisions should then impact morale and form. This should happen league-wide and be reported in a weekly ânewsâ tab, similar to FIFA games.
-
Coach contracts. Currently it doesnât seem like we, as a coach, are on a contract. Depending on the success or failure of our teams, we should be offered contracts for either our current club or other clubs. Say I start coaching in the QLD Cup, I should be looking to secure a job in the NRL. I believe (after playing through one initial season) I was given the option to continue with my current club, decide on a new club or switch to a player career. It would be much better if this was handled more like real life and we are playing to secure an ongoing contract or something better. This again would make it feel like our success or failures have an impact on our overall playing experience.
-
Representative games. Nobody wants to play NRL match after NRL match. We need an increase to the representation games in career mode. Players should be able to opt in/out of whether all representative fixtures for their given league are playable whether theyâre the coach or not. On top of that, there should be yearly internationals for Australia, England, NZ, Samoa and Tonga at the very least. We should also have a World Cup or World Championship every 4 years as something to work towards. I donât think anyone cares if this is licensed or not. Just having the ability to play an international tournament would add a lot. In addition to representative.
-
9s. I know this no longer exists in the NRL calendar, but having 9s as a game mode in RLL3 and RLL4 was a great addition and really helped to shake things up when regular 13 vs 13 was getting tiresome. It would be great to be able to toggle off/on a 9s pre-season or post season tournament that either includes club teams or international teams.
-
Squad management. We should be able to release players from contracts early. This could happen when a player requests a release or we decide they are no longer need on our roster. This happens frequently in real life and would add more depth to the squad management. It would also be great if we could choose to handle the squad management for both our first grade side and feeder club (if playing in an Australian league). This feature is available in AFL 26 and would be great if it was brought across.
-
Inbox/Messages. Currently these feel very repetitive and monotonous. Some suggestions for new types of emails we receive could be feedback from assistant coaches about players form or morale. Feedback from fans about ticket/merch/membership prices. Feedback from players in regards to training/game time, etc (as mentioned above). Feedback from the club board in regards to our progress through the season, our contract goals, etc.
-
Contract goals. As a coach we should have yearly goals and expectations the club sets for us. These could be as simple as games won, attendance figures, player signings, player morale. They shouldnât feel like objectives though (eg get 5 wins in a row). They should feel more like expectations throughout the whole season. Our success or failure of these goals should affect our contract potential moving forward and help decide whether we get re-signed, fired or scouted by other clubs.
I know a lot of these are lofty expectations, but I believe the career mode is the real heart of a sports video game and what keeps a lot of us coming back to it. So far it seems like there has been a lot of focus on Pro Teams and online and it would be great to see more focus given to career mode. As it stands, the mode feels outdated and missing a lot of features we have seen not only in previous Rugby League titles, but sporting games in general. A game I would point to as a reference to what can be done with career mode is Retro Bowl. Even though itâs only a mobile game, the depth of career mode is almost unmatched by a lot of console titles. I would love to see some of those features brought over to the Rugby League series.
Run meters on player stats why is this column empty?
Did Big Ant just forget run meters count lol
In career mode
Has anyone been able to coach a rep side yet
It would be great to have tab that shows an âInjury Wardâ and âSuspension Listâ to know which team has players out.
no field markings in final series
Would be great for the roster interface to be more visable between the subs (have subs a slightly different shade). Also sorting players could be quicker (getting back to the top of the list) rather than scolling all the way back to the top
When interchanging players, would be great if we can see their % of fatigue without having to pause the game to go into another interface
Re: no field markings
That sucks - Iâm in round 22 of career clinging onto the top 8 - was hoping finals had field markings. But also we need TNF FNF super Saturday, Sunday markings too.
Iâve experienced an issue where I get a quarter of my screen turns blue in my player career mode and manager career mode
