Ai on expert is better now, needs a few more adjustments but they are good now, Serving is better as well
Still no update available on PS5. But that sounds promising.
Is AI finally able to shoot out of bounds from time to time (especially while being aggressive)? For regular, behind the base line shots, as well on their serves?
Cause till now, they were just hitting the net, and in very rare instances (while they are inside the court), they were placing the ball behind the base line. And that was it. No mistakes/out of bounds while being aggressive or during pressure from User, and no mistakes during their serves (aside from hitting the net occasionally for both).
In my opinion, these should be the tennis basics/essential things, and if not already tackled, they should be sooner than later.
On the side note, big THANK YOU Big Ant for all your efforts, as I’m honestly not aware of any company (on any platform) to keep listening and constantly improving their game, with such dedication and constant patches.
It seems to me almost the same. Yes, serve is little bit faster, shots are riskier but main issues remain. AI is still totally dumb at the net and can’t punish bad drop shots or short balls. Furthermore there is still no variability in its play. No drop shots, no slices (max 1-2 per match), no lobs. Expert difficulty is like playing on Medium.

In my game has not, but maybe I must test it more with various opponents.
Come on man i just posted on Megathread how great this update is and it is nothing like how it was on the last update disaster. Even on Hard difficulty i did perfect short dropshots against Nadal and he even hit winners off them,before this update the cpu was hitting basic baseline topspin shots into the net after a few shots,Jessica Pegula an example on same grass court was totally useless as she kept hitting into the net now since this update she gets everything back because there is more power and speed put back into the game. I still say you are the same as those others on the Steam forums where even when there are big changes still say nothing has changed much and i take your comments with a grain of salt.
After testing the new patch for an hour, I note: improved CPU intelligence, more responsive at the net with improved volleys, the problem is that the CPU now hits too fast and too far, closing rallies too often immediately, that is because of the serve still without impact. the pace a bit faster. Honestly, I’m not happy with these changes.
Could not disagree more,i play on Hard difficulty and had no challenge with previous update now it is way tougher with cpu wrong footing me many times and even getting dropshots back for winners. I am only a medium level player and yes it is faster again but no way is it too fast,definitely don’t change it. The previous update slowed everything up so badly with trying to power up that now it just will take a little time to adjust tothe faster speed again. Remember real tennis is fast not slow at all.
Real tennis is fast, which is why I don’t like Topspin2K, but when you serve and the CPU responds by hitting hard and angled almost every time, without letting you get to the ball, there is little real about it.
I must admit that after more testing this update is quite good and I finally enjoyed two matches but there is sill a lot to improve.
PROS
- more effective serve
- more riskier shots
- AI is little bit more aggressive
- AI is little bit better at the net
I like these changes. What I woul like to see is stronger volleys from AI and better positioning at the net bacause it tends to stay in the center and therefore it opens up space for us to play final balls.
Next I would like to see nerfed drop shot because is too easy to play perfect one.
I hope you try Hard difficulty and not just Expert which in the end really should just be for the elite players and the rest of us will struggle to play on higher than Hard difficulty. The main problem is the devs need to add higher difficulties like Pro,World Class and Legend similar to AO TENNIS 2 but even harder then we can get an even spread of difficulties to cater for casuals and up.
Try Hard difficulty it is still a real challenge now, Expert difficulty should always be for elite players and the majority of us should never need to play higher than Hard which for me is really good now and i am capable of losing,cpu even got back short dropshots for winners hitting away from me. I am still getting aces which feel faster at max speed which is pleasing.
how can a game after 30 updates still do same nistakes:
al returns freaking bombs , and all at corners complete boring gameplay
now all only placr shot at cornere for winners we can not have any long rally and no al unforced errors
the gameplay is about power and quick winners now simply boring
plz release quick fix for al power short its makin game unenjoyable and slow the pace of the game eame topspin to have long rallies
I am playing on Hard difficulty and having great varied rallies some short some long and i am only a medium level player. Got used to the new update within 30 minutes and loving it,i think everyone wants to play on Expert for some reason when that should be for elite players only. Great to see the CPU getting dropshots back better even for winners and that is on Hard , i have not even tried Expert. How about practicing for a week or two on this update and improve which i am trying to do instead of coming back straight after the update and say it is too hard.
The AL serve tuned and can Ace all the time, and the players is still the same , cant ACE, no effect of timing, this should be fixed immedeitly with the AL powerful corner shot placment all the time
I am getting aces and getting aced on Hard difficulty and is now a good challenge. The trick with the corner shots is to not move either way after hitting the ball just wait for the cpu as they are about to hit it,saying that the cpu is wrong footing me much more which is a good thing. Serving is so different with every player as the speed of the toss throws you off going from player to player,i have had times where i can’t even get Sabalenka’s serve over the net double faulting even with safe serve but you have to wait for her serve a little longer for the ball to hit it’s peak. The directional for aces has to be perfect on the apex of the ball and just the right directional and an ace feels really satisfing,i got 5 aces in one match with her. I hope you like others are not just playing on Expert as that really should be for the elite players only and we play on lower difficulties.
the al return sucks big time, so boring the more fast ur serve the more fast his return so non logical

God definitely do not slow this down to top spin levels… Prime example of not all feedback is good feedback … Actually the rally seems to have gotten longer on this update some over 60 plus shots which is obviously not working well and is a combination of the ai never hitting out and slightly to forgiving timing. If they can address those two things it will be decent place. But the game speed of topspin we definitely do not want and hopefully the developers ignore this request…
I could agree, it would be enough cpu not to shoot on the corners and baseline, serve retirns for example, the player could have chance to reach the ball, now on hard and expert it s so untealistic and unplayable!
If you look around you would see plenty of people who are playing on hard and expert and are playing well and even reporting it’s challenging again. So your phrase unplayable is inaccurate maybe you just need to play on easier difficulty until you improve because calling it unplayable is ridiculous honestly.
