Finally i can switch sides mid game again

Speed of fast players need increased. No breakaways. I’ve had many shutout games. I did have CPU to a drop goal on me but they prob could have got a try as I prob couldnt catch them after a turnover.
Penalties and scrums non existent. Lack of penalties also cut down chances for points via tries and pen goals.
Agree, really think penalties should be a big focus on gameplay. I think easy ones to implement should be if you over press steal at a ruck (hands on floor) or something like this. Forgetting against the AI, this is key to having competitve online play. I also wish they updated how advantages appeared, like show a popup with advantage or advantage over.
There is no pace in the game whatsoever. Resulting in boring 0 - 0 games etc. No attacking threat on AI or really on user side either as no pace to get up field. Just a terrible game to play. Cannot get past one game.
Hi Team,
Hope you can fix the bug issues with the Wallaroos for the next patch next week for PS5. I did get feedback on the ticket yesterday that there is a fix but it’s not in this overnight patch , it might have missed the cut off.
The play now matches still crash on casual mode when Wallaroos players run onto the field and player menus still broken. But thanks for the stability patch overnight for other issues reported.
Not sure if it just me but sometimes, when I go to manage logos, its locked
Same problem for me. On PS5
Lol I found this on AFL 26 forum.
JNT, please send them an Improved Stabilty after our Improved Stabilty, they can wait
When Patch ?
I don’t really agree about the cameras tbf.
Playing end on is like playing rugby irl. You see the whole pitch in rugby when you play. You kick into space, you run at gaps … that is literally how it is. It isn’t easy mode, it is just “not a spectator” angle like side on is. If you play the old rugby games like 08 and 11 that’s what people get used to though. I always used to play aside on as well until the RC series.
Imagine a rugby team that just randomly kicked the ball, not into space because they saw it … but just because they weren’t sure what was there off screen
Side on isn’t hard mode either really is it, it is just more of a random mode. You can still see gaps in the backline easy due to the height it has … just nothing off screen to use strategically lol. It is never done well because it is impossible to do so pure side on. Anyone that plays it will generally ask for a mini map so they can see the space to kick to or know where everyone is on the pitch anyway. So you end up getting all the same benefits in the end. Just a different view.
I tried side on in R25 though and you can score just as easily as end on. Game scores are almost identical. Difficulty is just non existent because the AI has zero of the I in it.
Personally I’d love an angle half way between. A strong “broadcast” angle. Like NBA2K25 (amazing game on sale now for a heavy discount) has. I don’t like end on or side on tbh.
Still, the angle of the camera doesn’t really matter when all you get to see is nonsense anyway .
Have you not gone back to 2011 yet? +100 points for your perseverance mate!
Roll on rugby 27.
I dont know if big ant read this thread, but here is an idea to possibly fix the ruck. How about when a ruck is formed a random button combo is generated allow players to join the ruck. For example, ball goes to ground, first player selectable press x, once x pressed circle flashes up, press circle then triangle and so on. This would mean that a players reflexs were what gained an advantage and it would force players to practice and as it would be randomly generated there are a number of different variations that could happen.
Same with scrums. Would it not be simple to have a bar which moved from side to side generating a random area to stop in so again it would rely on a players reflexs meaning those who practice would be good.
Just a suggestion.
Hello , a quick update on important gameplay fixes.
-Nerfs, the noise, they’re too strong, it’s unrealistic.
-AI needs to make many, many more passes before contact! It plays with one pass, it’s unrealistic!!
-AI needs to play more with its feet: 50/22 drops, low kicks, high balls, etc.
-AI needs to foul forward, make big plays, touch wrong, etc.
With these fixes, we should have a more challenging and realistic AI.
I am playing on Playstation 5 and a career mode is currently locked when trying to start a new career. Is this a bug?
Just an idea, but could be cool for lineouts and scrums to have set plays in the way of EA College 25.
Maybe it would make more sense than all systems previously implemented in rugby games ? And maybe easier to code ?
EA College 25:
R25 Idea:
I’ve gone back to playing CF 25 simply because the whole game is set up brilliantly.
Plus, if you know the work around, you can take control of all teams in career mode.
I like to play my seasons out AI v AI. It’s a better game than Madden imo.
Back to Rugby 25, since the latest update, I’ve noticed that when playing AI v AI the home team has a massive advantage for some reason.
I’ve just watched Vodacom Bulls beat Ulster 47-0 in the URC season I’m running. I thought perhaps that was a one off.
But when I went to play out my Bath v Bristol in the Premiership season I’m running, Bath beat Bristol 42-0.
So something has gone wrong again with this patch. Oh well back to CF 25 for me and wait yet another week for the Devs to sort something out. Hopefully they can fix it.
There you go @JNT_BA for some reason the home team in an AI v AI game has a monumental advantage over the away team. This is happening in Play Now and Season modes.
Also there are far too many turnovers in the games. There are no penalties or very few penalties occurring. The only ones that do occur are offsides.
I could go on and on but I’m sure you are aware that other people on here are raising concerns and issues with the game.
The set play names are class. Dope idea.
I just need to get a good set of sliders for AI v AI on CF’25 now.
I’ll head over to Operation Sports and take a look. Maybe Schnaidt has a good set out.
I have this issue aswell
Personally I find it so much easier playing end on, (the game isnt hard no matter what you do really) but if im playing online im swapping straight to end on because the advantage feels massive in Rugby 25.
Seems to be a common reason people play end on because thats how it is in real life. But it isnt really. its certainly closer, you run in the direction you would run if you are on the pitch (my brain cant handle the spinning camera on posession swap), but for me theres still a huge advantage to just being able to have this view of the entire pitch as you are playing which isnt how it is IRL, you can just pick running lines and kicks exactly where you want, and can even change your decisions on the fly because you just avoid the backfield AI, rather than attempting the tactical kick, where maybe the AI is able to cover and sweep it up. If I play on end camera I feel like I can just batter the AI in to submission, Ive had games were im finishing with >95% territory becuase you can just kick to grass for fun. Along with the shift in button layout to just be “push forward” makes other things so easy. hitting a drop goal is basically unmissable on end on, hitting a line break is so easy because the gap is right there and you can see where the fullback is for cover, and choose where you want to break though.
Having played with people on the discord and done my own testing, it feels like the more extreme the camera angle is the easier the game plays.
Most people playing on end on probably play with a camera like this:
For me if you wanted to play rugby as close to IRL as possible, then really the camera settings should allow you to play like this:
But I doubt many people would want to play like that, because the difficulty of getting closer to IRL would be too much for a lot of people, but might be a fun challenge mode or something. One thing I brought up with JNT a long time ago was asking if the space on the field changes depending on camera mode? Logically it makes no sense, but it felt true from a linebreak standpoint, so there must be other factors at play.
So is the space in red in images below the same amount of tangable space to run through?
Even the CEO at BigAnt said he doesnt play Side on because its too hard
I dont mind how people play, its a video game, best to enjoy it however resonates with you. But there are a number of issues that I do seem to stumble into on side camera, whereas end on is just a challengless breeze.
Feel like ive looked in to camera orientations impacts on the game more than bigant ant this point, hopefully Rugby 27 somes with a VR headset and you see through the players eyes, and I never have to think about cameras again.
EDIT
Decided to have a game using the match I was grabbing screenshots on just as a challenge of how easy kicking is on End On. So rules are, cant run forwards with the ball, cant use hand off, cant use grubber kicks / chip kicks / up and unders, must kick long to space to move up the field, cant score tries or penalites only drop goals.
Deduct about 5 mins of the overall match because I was grabbing the screenshots for the post. But in 75 minutes of a 5 minute match on hardest, I won 24-0 by landing 8/8 goals. 73% posession and 62% territory (if you believe the stats which im not sure if any of them are calculated 100% right), without carrying the ball forwards. Just utilising the end on camera to kick to space repeatedly, then knocking over a drop goal. And the AI couldnt do anything to stop me. (doesnt help the AI is also terrible, and the also random team I had was Fiji who are 85 compared to France’s 88 rating) but its just so easy to not even interact with the game properly and just win with kicks.
All theories i hope, mate.
As you say , endview gives a better view of the gaps so it’s possible to adjust your aim and stay out of reach of both defenders. On side camera, the view makes it real hard to realize how close you’ll end up being to the defenders, therefore the rate drop you experienced.
Side view is way harder, but i really doubt gameplay changes depending on the view.
Let’s be clear: it’s pants on whatever the camera view.
But I dont think there is a real tangible gameplay issue but rather a perspective issue. Maybe by playing with the camera 's focal depth you would have a slightly better view of the depth between players.
Here’s a good example, same guy, almost same head size, but his face and the background seems to flatten as he switches camera lenses:
Fair enough, each to their own. I trialed end on and smashed teams just as easy as with end on tbf. I see zero difference in camera view difficulty. Easy to see space in both.
I meant more “like in real rugby” as in you see the whole pitch, height doesn’t matter you have the ball, you see spaces in backfield and kick into it etc. You don’t have some of the field cut off that you can’t see. I didn’t mean I thought people have Birds Eye view when playing
Not sure I would trust the CEOs opinion tbh. He said the game was reasonable and he was having fun playing it in the office before EA even started lol.
Zoomed in end on seems a bit extreme ha ha. I think, for difficulties, they should like idk … make easy - easy to play and hard - more difficult. Then people wouldn’t feel they needed to not be able to see the pitch in order to get some type of challenge
This game man … it’s just the worst. I think camera angles will never make enough of a difference to anything. Seems more likely now that the patches will stop before the game ever gets worth playing again.
