Rugby 25 Megathread

Yes I remember you saying you played that way.
Just playing around.

What views people prefer doesn’t really matter. Who actually cares how someone else plays

And let’s be honest, doesn’t matter which angle you look at this game from … it’s still pants

Hi Team,

I wanted to ask is there a hidden invisible “Momentum” bar in the game during matches currently ?

Playing on PS5 Hardest Difficulty.

I find that once I score a try it gets easier to score against the Ai again. But now it seems it gets too much momentum and too easy. Ai defence gets more slack and then I can pile on 2-3 Trys. Ai might score again and then their defence improves again but to me they get less momentum.

Is it possible to have this invisible momentum bar displayed on the screen when playing matches and can it have sliders to adjust or disable a momentum bar if a user chooses this option.

Also “Training” in Coach Career mode. I stopped doing training because although I feel it improved my players it’s making them too good with skills, for example “Speed”. It’s making the coach career too easy even playing on Hardest Difficulty.

Also I get the impression the Ai “does not improve its own players” in a season with training in career mode ? This is why I will no longer use training for my club. Is the Ai coded to train its own players ?

I got to the Super rugby final with one winger who I have lots of speed and agility training to and he scored 5 Trys in that grand final. But the Ai seemed to not have players like this who could play so well. This was Western Force playing against Chiefs “Ai”
Won the final 54-28. To me an unrealistic grand final experience in terms of a challenge. The training of my players I would say was a major factor for the win but lopsided score as the Chiefs didn’t train or improve their own players.

Anyway thanks for considering my feedback and all your hard work continually improving this game.

Ooh, todays colour is purple on the xbox. I know the picture makes it look more blue/purple. But on the TV its a very vivid purple, not sure ive had that before. I cant believe this colour thing still isnt fixed, maybe if i swap to the prioritised end camera, it go away? :joy::joy::joy::joy:

Here is last game stats played on hard 10 min halves I played as Benneton. As you see from amount of rucks and kicking that the style of play is sim play, of course a video game will always have a highlight reel of a sim game. This is on end on view.

Agreed. The missed tackles in this game is crazy!!!
I have players such as Ardie, Du Toit, Marx, all massive players missing 1st time tackles. Once or twice is okay, but every time the Ai have the ball, they get through the 1st tackle with ease.

Star players also indeed need some improving, I notice nothing different between a star player and a general player. At least make them able to fend a couple of players, or make them stronger etc.

But let’s see what happens in the upcoming updates, I’m excited to what Big Ant comes up with, and see if they actually going to listen to the community.

No more weekly updates unless the BA team need to push out a hotfix - they’re every 3 weeks now. Next major update is July 16th.

Not sure I would word it as a “major update”. That is possibly setting an expectation for some that certainly won’t be met

If RL26 have charge downs , Rugby25 needs that also !

Although I feel as if many of the missed tackles are my fault on those Benneton stats of missed tackle probably 5-8 is me not timing the tackle correct, I know over time will line up the tackles better with more games played. So, the missed tackles should go down. But yes, I think the first tackle break is a little overpowering, could be more varied, but then again if you don’t get past the first tackle break, no chance at having another tackle break :slightly_smiling_face: So hard to tell. Maybe less initial tackle breaks but more multi tackle breaks with players with good stats for this.

Just a thought but offloads need to be reigned in a lot in my opinion. This is not rugby league where you are limited to a certain set of tackles and getting offloads away in any scenario is important, especially on the fifth tackle.

Union only use offloads when they have a likelihood of success on most occasions. Ball retention for repeated phases is valued much more highly than keeping the ball alive in most scenarios.

Rugby 25 needs to adjust for this. Risky offloads should have a low success rate. Not just intercepts from players loitering in your attacking line, but via ball’s going to ground (not flying 15 metres into touch though).

It shouldn’t stay the off load fest it is now. Less off loads force more rugby i.e rucks, gaining territory from other means such as kicks, set pieces resulting from poor off loads, like scrums.

Hi PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ THIS MESSAGE THIS IS ALL THE SMALL ISSUES THAT NEED TO BE FIXED. And let me know what you guys think about this

The Kicking just doesn’t work for me off the tee every time the ball just goes 5 meters I know I might be doing it wrong but it is just to hard in rugby 22 it was easier because we had a line and a pull back button.

There are also a few tiny issues aswell such as player positions ECT here are a few that need to be fixed

HUGO KEENAN it say Left wing but it should be full back. I understand he can play left wing but it doesn’t say anywhere that he plays full back and that can effect simulation in games I think.

SHANE DALY Says outside centre but it should be full back and winger

THAAKIR ABRAHAMS has no option to play fullback

ANTIONE JELONCH IS SAYS OPENSIDE FLANKER BUT IT SHOULD SAY NUMBER 8

And Alex nankivell is only 75 rated when he is one of Munsters best players

And some players kicking foot need to be changed from right foot to left foot
Such AS

CRAIG CASEY
ELLIOT DALY
HENRY SLADE
JAMES O’CONNER
JAMES LOWE

And many more I might edit this post later and add more left footed kickers or I’ll repost this post again with more left footed kickers

AND WHEN IM COACHING A NATIONAL TEAM IN CAREER MODE I CAN ONLY CHOOSE 30 PLAYERS WHEN MOST NATIONAL SQUADS HAVE 35-40 SQUAD SIZE. I understand smaller nations in the games only have 30 players but still 30 players is not enough for Ireland or France New Zealand sprigboks ect

Munster rugby usually finish 1st to 6th in the table so created 10 career modes over the past few day and they have finished 11th to 16th every time so I was hoping you could upgrade their team rating and Benetton are winning URC’s every year even though in real life the always finish 6th to 14th in the table

And when I am coaching a national team I keep on getting drawn to Small nations that are like 70 in the world when I’m coaching Ireland and other Top nations

And When I’m coaching a club In career mode during the Champions cup all the group stage games are in the Stade de France for some reason and not where the home team plays. The only teams that get home games are the French teams in the champions cup. This is only for season 1 though

For the MAUL The hooker is rarely at the back of the maul when the line out is taken but in real life the hooker is always at the back of the Maul

If you read to here Thank you for reading by concerns I hope that this can be fixed for the next update or sooner.

THANKS :waving_hand:

On a career related note, once your players have been selected for international duty they shouldnt be availbale for their club side. I had several players playing for the ospreys during the time they were also playing at a world cup :joy:

Hey Guys,

Was wondering if we have had anymore news on Pro Team?
I am looking forward to having a new game mode.

Just wanted to try and give you some advice for the goal kicking. I realize some players have different styles, but this method seems to work every time for me, I cant remember the last time I missed a kick at goal.

When placing the ball, try and give yourself a better angle, pull the tee a little backwards before placing, not necessarily all the way back, but you will see what I mean by a comfortable angle.

Once you have gotten passed the cutscene of the kicker placing the ball, you need to set the direction and angle of your kick, this is easy enough, but I find that most of the time, you need to sort of aim more to the left side of the posts because the ball seems to curve from the right side way more than it probably should.

Once you’re ready to take the kick, you need to pull back on the right analog stick (Playstation) to build the power of your kick, the closer you can get to full power the better but don’t hold it back too long because this will mess up your kick.

Once you’re happy with the power, push the analog stick up in one smooth motion, don’t pull the stick down for power and then leave it before pushing up, it has to be one smooth motion. Hold the stick up until the kicker has kicked the ball and you should be successful every time.

Hope this helps

I already do that every time, smoothly and holding the stick up, yet sometimes my kicker will just grubber the kick 5 or so metres and the commentary says he was distracted by crowd noise.
Side note - I don’t think I’ve ever seen a kicker affected by the noise of the crowd enough to miss a kick in real life and never have i seen a professional rugby union player taking a goal kick just dribble it off the tee in real life…

Please give us a World Cup Competition, you don’t have to name it World Cup if their is some rights issues, just name it Cup of Nations or something like that. Of late, I must admit that I really enjoy the game now!!! Played the first test as NZ vs France, and it was a close affair, 35-28, nz win.

No I highly doubt that crowd noise has anything to do with it, it’s just a comment triggered by a missed kick. What console are you? Perhaps there could be a bug for different consoles and PC? I may be way off, but this method works every single time for me, might be a crazy idea, but maybe camera angle is also an issue? I play end-on, and I’m probably wrong, but if you do everything exactly like that, there shouldn’t be an issue.

I play end on, Playstation 5, i adjust the kick, pull down then push and hold up exactly the same way everytime, just sometimes it fails and I really don’t know why or how because it’s exactly the same as when it worked the kick previous

There’s no way your analog might be faulty?

I think the game lacks gameplay content and is overshadowed by the licensing and graphics. The game itself is broken and repetitive, half the buttons and mechanics don’t work at all or don’t work properly plus you can’t do set plays, or change your offensive or defensive structure, theres no variation in the game play, each lineout, scrum, kickoff, goal kick, box kick, kicks from the pocket and running with the ball feels the same each time. At least to me anyway, not to mention the repetitive nature of the commentary.

The amount of licensing and photogrametry is great but without good quality gameplay is not enough of a redeeming factor to make the game good.
