Amazing news on scrums being worked in. Never like theme
Maybe lineouts next ![]()
Also pretty please can you look at support runners. Still to far back..
@JNT_BA fair enough, given the complexity of rucks it wouldnāt surprise me if they went in last. Good to know scrums are being worked on. Look forward to seeing the changes when they are ready.
@Saulan yeah attacking lines is definitely something that needs further changes. IMO the biggest issue has always been that the back line has felt like 7-10 individuals standing around instead of a unit that works and moves round the pitch together. If the ball carrier starts moving the other players should react and move as well. If the ball carrier sprints the other players should sprint to. I just donāt see this most of the time and it feels like the support players are half asleep and only react when itās too late
I definitely think that rugby 25 is the best rugby game in history in terms of content, quality and gameplay. Itās a little lacking for it to be the ultimate rugby simulation. I think that with more creative freedom and a more realistic career mode we can be very good at this. Good luck Big Ant and good job.
@JNT_BA Quand Goodies in Career Mode to make more money in the club ? Quand Money Manager, possibility to increase our stadium capacity, price of seats, advertising etc ? Would be fun
Awesome to hear about the Scrums, the rucks seem to be getting better, I know the system is still being worked on, but is it possible to get a few quick bullet points as for tips on how the system is supposed to work. Is the Jackle a press and hold or a tap, a timing thing when the ruck meter is at the highest point, is the pushover counter ruck activitaded by the steal button or by holding the bind button. (hey there is an idea) hold the bind button for an attempted pushover counter ruck, and x button for the steal/jackle. Y can continue to be as initially indented, (tackle, stand and contest or steal)? Y should work like the stand and jackle button on the rugby challenge series)
Avid rugby gamer since rugby 06 here and have followed this forum for the past few years without joining in with the funā¦..
Thought I would take a slightly different approach to the feedback and detail in my opinion what a decent rugby game would look like if we took some of the best bits from the recent games Rugby 25, Rugby 22 and Rugby Challenge.
Game Presentation - Rugby 25
Overall Graphics - Rugby 25
Face scans - Rugby 25
Licensing - Rugby 25
Scale of content & options - Rugby 25
Character builds/physiques - Rugby Challenge
Passing - Rugby Challenge
Running style - Rugby Challenge (why do legs move so slow when sprinting in Rugby 25?)
Bumps, fends, steps, dummy - Rugby Challenge
Scrums - Rugby Challenge (simple & quick)
Rucks - Rugby Challenge (rugby 22 was too easy)
Difficulty scale - Rugby Challenge
Place kicking & controls (right stick) - Rugby 22 (most challenging and rewarding system)
Open play kicking - Rugby 22 (quickness & distance spot on)
Tackle animations - Rugby 22
Tackle controls (right stick) - Rugby 22
Lineouts - Rugby 22
Mauls - Rugby 22
Points that I donāt think any game really grasps:
AI positioning & decision making
Own team positioning & running lines / pods
Set plays
Rules implementation
I would encourage those who are still lingering on these forums to go play rugby 22 and rugby challenge again. Gives you a bit of perspective on how far this game has to goā¦.
Best of luck JNT. Keep fighting the good fight.
Totally agree with you, Rugby22 realy had the simulation of rugby almost perfectly captured in regards to gameplay, imagine it having all the licenses
I really like Rugby 22 rucks, while they are a little easy the animations look really good. Also, the general gameplay of Rugby 22, like being able to score impromptu cross field kicks is so pleasing!
Hang on, why is Rugby 08 not mentioned (insert sarcasm)..
Not holding my breath. Based on the feedback the stuff that they were working on is still work in progress although its been months and fundamentals of rugby e.g. rucking and scrums.. I think weāll just end up with a half baked game and theyāre left with limited resources assigned to RG25.
As the post mentioned above, games since have had some good elements which I agree as Iāve played since JL too. But they all fall short, especially in 2025. Big Ant have release of cricket as well, I feel the team is so stretched Iām not sure how R25 will pan out but sheās slow progress and thatās no disrespect to the team working on it.
Seems like no update then todayā¦
One would think No communication = it will be today. Just a bit late I guess.
Hello Everyone
If the scrums are improved, we need more knock-ons. Because at the moment, I only have to play one or two scrums per match at most.
Perhaps knock-ons on powerful tackles (if the tackler has good stats).
Yes, very few scrums. Since, they are working so hard on the scrums, hopefully will see more then 1-2 in a 15 minute match. The game has come a long way, but also has a way to go. As long as they keep improving will keep supporting the game and developers, because its the only modern rugby game we got. And although some ideas/feedback have fell on deaf ears, there are some that did get implemented, and that I thank the Big Ant team for. The good thing is they do not even feel complacent with the game, so this will help to continue making improvements,
PS: bring the world champions back! Figure out the licensing.
Didnāt they bring SA back in the last patch?
Havent been on yet anyone got an update
Doesnāt look like we getting one.
@JNT_BA any news on the update? Thanks
