Rugby 25 Megathread

@JNT_BA loving the update. HOWEVER, STILL A SEVERE LACK OF CARDS OR SIN BINS.

I SEVERE, i still have not seen ONE on over 120 hours of playing.

Come on, you said it was on your long lisr. It should be pri 1. A lot of supporters of this have mentioned it numerous times for imediate action.

Come on do a.loyal supporter a favour!

Hey @JNT_BA

From playing the most recent update. The main things I noticed were that the supporting players don’t seem to be as deep when you are on attack, passing feels a bit more smooth and have noticed the positive change to punting and conversions, although I can’t get a conversion over when using the new system.

Can’t really see any changes to attacking shape and structure. Players still seem to be all over the place. You’ve got your 10 either standing on the blind side or outside your ruck but always standing deeper then the players outside him which makes no sense unless your kicking.

Tactics still seem to have no effect on the attacking shape/structure. As @Madcap2110 has posted, can we please get the attacking structures working and showing the correct shapes true to the tactic you’ve selected.

Although supporting players are not standing as deep, they are still not running proper lines and angles. Short ball and out the back options (blockers and sliders). Played at bit of rugby league 26 and that’s the sort of attacking gameplay we want. Also think the flat pass and skip pass system would work really well in this game if you have supporting players running proper lines. Need to get the side stepping working to, as at the moment your only options on attack are bump off, or bump off then offload, draw and pass or run around players making it not very enjoyable. The sidestep in rugby league 26 feels really smooth.

Also will there be updates happening to squads and team line ups? Would be awesome to see the all blacks, springboks etc have the correct squads with the rugby championship starting next week.

Thanks for the continued updates!

Cheers!

Hi Team,

I Will be giving more patch feedback this weekend. I played one match so far will play more matches today. Really just wanted to give feedback on issue below,

I will mention this Held Up TMO/Referee issue again as to me it really can kill a match when you’re trying to win. I had two Trys disallowed as being held up in goal. I hope this is still on the list to fix ?

The first try scoring player Justin Geguld in first example went to recycle the ball after grounding the ball and sliding with momentum.

In the second example Zachery Porthern grounded the ball but referee ruled it a held up Try. I will have these examples time stamped in a video I uploading soon to my channel.

Thanks for the patch. I did enjoy the match I played. Ai seems smarter with attack and defence. Players also feel like they all have a lot more agility and faster movement.

I work on my schedule, that’s it. We will not be going back to weekly updates, “cause three weeks are stressing me out”. Cause you know this, how?

You have the schedule I gave you. I updated you all before the last patch was out, on what was being worked on and what was going to be included. It’s been a day since the patch.

Yes, the person who keeps coming on and making new accounts that I delete, you don’t get to be here anymore. Every person who wants to have negativity is perfectly fine to be here, as you can see above, but yeah, you really aren’t, cause you couldn’t be civil. “Oh, he never answers” Just cause I don’t answer you, doesn’t mean no one gets answered.

I have cleaned up all the rule break comments. If you are unsure about the rules, just go read them.

This game does not deserve the NPC

R25 doesn’t, maybe R26 or R27 will ? :stuck_out_tongue:

I would be surprised if there was a 26 27 or 28 tbh? This game is an absolute trainwreck and surely not a great commercial decision to carry on with it in regards to future iterations.

Well, if a lot of things are improved. A lot. A lot. A lot

Personally I don’t want to see it

At this point I would rather someone else pick it up in a few years. They will prioritise it as a union game deserves and not have it last on a long list.

Big Ant can stick to league, they are good at league. Not so good at union.

They could just “continue to support” this one rugby title for years and maybe get it to a semi decent game eventually.

I feel 2K sports is our only hope left for a decent rugby game. EA would just release that rehashed 2011 trash.

I don’t think 2K will give it a go to Union, but would love to be wrong. I guess they would first go into NFL before Union?

Man I’m not programmer so at the end I can’t tell. But there are so many many things that from the outside seems easy to implement, and look so crazy that still not working properly.

Like, how on earth in RL26 they can do several bump off, side steps and in R25 we can’t?

How on earth can we almost always break the first tackle in R25?

How is is possible that the passing is so much better in RL26? I mean, a pass is a pass, should be almost the same code between the two games?

The global gameplay of RL26 is so smoother than R25, that drives me crazy.

It seems that so much is still not yet implemented.

Let’s be patient, again, we can’t do anything anyway…

Or maybe could we @JNT_BA ? Doing some codes / designs that you guys could re use for free in the game / opensource ? Don’t know if this is common in the gaming industry.

I mean, even in my free time would be open to learn and help lol. When Union?

Yeah that’s true. We are so doomed. Man we have been more than patient, so tired to wait for things we don’t even know how depth their goal is.

JNT warned us, but the last 2 updates, 6 weeks, from user perspective… Still not a lot of improvements gameplay wise.

Yep, there is no one else to look at and blame for the state of it tbf. It really is a horrid game. That is not being nasty, it is my honest opinion on how this full release game stacks up against others.

Which is a shame because it had so much promise. Just clearly (Despite what is stated otherwise) not been enough capacity to work on this game in earnest.

After all this time, it is still just a shell of a Rugby game.

Further to what you’ve said Valhalla, I’ve bought and played nearly every Big Ant game that they have ever made.

There has been a variable level of quality to the original games and a variable level of quality to the patching of those games.

Although whether it be cricket, tennis or rugby league (don’t play AFL myself), there has generally been a higher standard and a higher number of effectual changes in every other game that I’ve mentioned compared to Rugby 25.

On top of the quality of changes needed to be made, there is the sheer quantity of changes needed to be made.

Whether it be in the areas of competition customisation, general player and logo customization, gameplay rule errors, clunky unenjoyable systems (scrums, lineouts, mauls), ineffectual in-game controls, general gameplay bugs (held up issue), or new features implemented with errors rendering them useless for most of the audience (new goal kicking system), lack of new content which was suggested at an earlier time, it all adds up to a game which is not fulfilling anywhere near the usual Big Ant standard after this number of patches.

One of the main problems is that when a patch is released many of the new changes often don’t work at all and need to be hot fixed or repatched. Sometimes more than once. To be honest this one is what is holding up future progress more than anything else. Right now we have a situation with goal kicking where a possibly much better system has been released, with more challenge and enjoyment, but as everything seems to be with rugby 25, it isn’t working for a large number of the audience.

Now when patch stuff isn’t working and big ant is telling us there is a three weekly patch schedule, and they have released something broken, surely we should be well within our rights to ask for those unworking elements to be patched as soon as possible and the three weekly schedule should really only apply to anything that actually works.

Surely that is fair. They release patches that work with a decent amount of new content that improves the game (and actually works) and then we shut up for three weeks other than making suggestions.

There are some darn good reasons we are complaining. I’d sincerely like to be somebody who compliments this game. I sure compliment RL26.

Confirmed, I’m at 1/9 or 1/10 for conversions with the new system. Thought Ramos was a good kicker though
