Rugby 25 Megathread

I have also encountered these type of passes. Thanks for fixing it. Any chance that you will look at bringing in more of a “good” and “poor” passing/offload timing, so that more forward passes and knock-on can happen when executed “poorly”.

Thank for you answer Big Ant

Once all the formations are in yup. I’ve already put forward my requested changes to offloads and trajectories. I hate seeing super man offloads that just dont make sense.

It must feel at times like trying to tame a temperamental child with these nuance in game behaviours. Have you any insight to GTA 6 patented AI learning algorithm and if it could be applied in sports games?

@JNT_BA any ETA on when the patch will drop with the WRWC?

Just pressing buttons now. So in the next hour or so.

any other goodies or just the Womans world cup?

Where to access all the patch notes?, no longer posting on X

I always play AI vs AI and todays patch on Steam plays VERY well.

One thing I always see, is surely a bug, but I have NEVER heard anyone else on here ever mention it when they play against the AI, so maybe its only happening via AI vs AI.

So in a ruck, if I look carefully when there is a turnover, on many occasions the guy on the floor facing his players awaiting the ball to be collected, twists his body to face the opposite direction, and the opposition say thanks very much, collect the ball, and its been turned over.

Is this some rule in real Rugby maybe, where if its not collected during a Ruck within a set amount of seconds the player has to turn the opposite direction to hand the ball over to the opponent?

If noone else has witnessed this, I can upload a video of it happening, not sure if this site allows video uploads…………still pictures of it cannot do it any justice.

@dazzer169 the player rolling on the floor and giving it to the opposition has been in there since release (maybe even Early Access). It’s something that I’ve flagged multiple times as being unrealistic and not something that would ever happen in rugby. Still not sure why it was included in the first place as just looks so bad. I’m hoping it’s something that disappears when the ruck system gets an overhaul.

So is this something u personally see when playing against the AI, and its not just an AI vs AI thing?

Asking as I know in some games AI vs AI can slightly affect the decision making you see compared to Player vs AI.

If this DOES happen also in Player vs AI………..then surely its the biggest problem this game has as its possession changing based on a ridiculous bug that has never ever been fixed.

Which in all truth is pathetic.

World Cup is in. Started a new competition… neither the fixtures nor the stadia in use reflect the real tournament (despite all of the 8 host venues being in the game). Gonna investigate more for the purposes of a ticket but how did QA not spot this?

@TheJackSmit the first fixtures are pre-tournament/warm up games like some teams had before the tournament started

@dazzer169 yes this is human vs AI. I don’t do AI v AI and have plenty of these turnovers where the tackled player just roles over

Just noticed that now - of the belief that preseason games SHOULDNT be included in RWC. Theyre friendlies.

Crazy…………and the biggest issue with the game is this then, possession changing due to this, which for me I notice happens in 2 out of 10 rucks I watch, so that is 20% of the time u get given the ball back for no reason.

Helps the Player of course, but come on!!

Does this also happen in reverse, does the Player’s tackled player ALSO sometimes (20%…) roll over and give it back?

Decided to have a look. 70 minutes into the game and already feel like there’s improvement. Only thing during the game was opposition had a red card from a kick off even though the tackle was yet to take place? Weird. Then came the kicker, at 70 minutes the game crashed. First time in a long time this has happened to me!!

I won’t speak about the gameplay.
Just posting this

I was just about to post the same thing. Japan v Spain in Tokyo. Such a shame after them taking the trouble to add the three extra stadia too. No advertising boards either.

They are warm-up matches. Spain played against Japan twice, both in Japan, and a third one against England. That is correct.

I don’t know why there is a table of standings for these matches though.

I get why the warmup games are in - but like with the option to play as a single team or all 16… players need to be given the ability to skip directly to the pools if they so wish. Full RWC branding kicks in from there, aside from one or two aspects the stadia look exactly as they did for the tournament (right down to the vinyls on the groundsmans’ hut in Salford!)
